Upgraded to Platinum, and as someone mentioned below: 'upgrade = more points'… very true!…. It's even MORE awesome when you're an Authorized User on your spouse's acct!!

Hi Sébastien I know this is not about the video at hand but i think you'll be best to answer: I'm 19 I have a credit score of 716. (im an authorized user on a few of my parents accounts) I have 1 boscovs credit card i opened a little over a year ago. I would like to open up more credit cards of my own so when I decide to hop off my parents cards I have good credit. Any idea for a good first card for myself.

I got declined twice by Amex. 1st for the blue cash everyday, 2nd for platinum when I found out the 100k offer. Then I decided to get a free credit tool account with Amex and see how they evaluate my credit. Just half an hour ago, I found out Amex gives me lots of prequalified offer including both gold and platinum and both for 75K. I like 4X on dining and grocery which also match my spending habits. I guess 4K in 6 months for 75K points is a pretty good deal especially considering this is a prequalified offer after I got declined twice. It really took no more than 30s and I got approved. Yeah!

If you get a retention offer on the Amex Gold and Amex offers you a upgrade offer for the platinum, would Amex claw back the retention offer points on the Amex Gold?

Got upgrade offer from gold to plat for 60k points for $5k spend. But I applied for Amex plat instead due to 100k plus 10x sign on bonus. Plus I like my gold card (definitely a work horse card for me)

American Express… Just say NO! If you have very good credit you should never apply for any credit card that requires you to pay an annual fee. There are many personal and business credit cards that you can get that do not require an annual fee. Skip AmEx. The benefits that you used to get are not the same anymore. Not worth it. You can do better.

Had to downgrade brilliant to a regular Bonvoy, no retention offers. Still got that 50k certificate free night that expires in Dec. 31st 2020 the last time I checked. Can I book a day after the expiration date? Thanks, and thumbs up! #Sebbysquad

I have the gold and the platinum. Should I add the green? Also, if I have the personal gold should I add the gold business? Would the bonus still be available for gold biz if I have the personal gold?

60k offer to go from Green to Plat. Terrible deal. And I'm in the middle of a mortgage refi, and plan to follow almost immediately with a new mortgage. So I'm tempted… 😬

Amex is flexible on once in a lifetime bonus. Two of my own experiences. I had Gold Premier and got a upgrade to Platinum, for I got the bonus but downgraded back to the Gold Premier. Fast forward one year later, they offered me the upgrade and did it. I have keep the card since. Also, got welcome bonus on the revamped Gold Card though that may be seen as different product. I think it depends on who the customer is and history with Amex.

Good vid. I myself am a Amex member and looking to upgrade to the Platinum. I was unaware that they offer upgrade to certain cards so maybe I will wait too see if they offer it. I would say in regards to any fee based card one should consider if the fee out weights the benefits. I myself do not travel allot so the travel perks to the Platinum card I do not need those but I do purchase a lot of high end luxury Items and I believe Amex should add more perks in that area to the Gold and Platinum. Also I am not sure if Amex lets members pay their fees upfront (and even if they do not) for the term of the card but you figure a card is five years good till expiration so 550 times five is $ 2750. So in five years you have paid 2750 were the benefits worth that? A good cost to benefit analysis is always good and vids like this gentlemen's usually give break downs of points and benefits. Also remember you are moving to a charge card so the Big leagues so be aware of all that goes into fee based cards.

Noticed an upgrade offer the other day. Gold -> Platinum. Offer is 25,000 points in exchange for $2k spend over the first 6 months. In addition I can earn 10x points on Gas and Groceries for the same 6 months (limit $15k combined spend)

Standalone platinum offer at this time is 75k points, same 10x bonus categories, $5k spend required over 6 months.

Incognito browser offer is 100k points, same 10x bonus categories, $5k spend over 6 months.

I probs won’t take the upgrade deal. Already have corp. platinum and too many benefits duplicate to justify annual fee. Other perks from personal plat. would be nice but 25k points is pretty low.

I was offered an upgrade from green card to platinum for 75,000 after $5,000 spend for 6 months, plus 10x on gas and grocery.

Looking for thoughts on if I can apply for Amex P. : 730 vantage, 705 fico, 2 inquires in 2 years, mortgage, small car loan, 3 cards, (5k total) 2% utilization (oldest account 5 years, I checked and was prequalified for Amex P as an offer, 125k MR, NOW…..one closed account in 2018 charge off, just fully paid with fully paid remarks 2 weeks ago(updated in experian. Credit karma says on time payments for 47 months straight) and I know that vantage 3.0 doesn’t count paid debt? Would you apply or wait 6 months? A year? 2 years? Till the closed account falls off?

I'd like to reapply for the platinum, turned down before. but i have the gold. I only see that i qualify for upgrade to platinum, I've racked up points on gold and how do i keep those and the gold card while still applying for platinum? on my logon all i get is the option to get an upgrade. but i prefer to keep both cards.
