Shopper reward is great for Costco since 3% at wholesale club is pretty rare

Citi is right. The Custom Cash is good if you use it for a spending category that wouldn’t exceed $500 per month anyway. Set it and forget it. The rotating category cards are a waste of time. The time and effort spent opting in, tracking spending so you don’t spend over $1500, getting a category that’s actually useful, all for a few more bucks back… and this new U. S. Bank annual fee cash back card? It’s the worst of them all. Only pay an annual fee for a premium travel card.

Technically you could include the boa Cust Cash if you just mention just one caveat of 100k investment

I don't like the fact that you need a Chase checking account just to redeem your points and on top of that you need to keep a certain amount of money in the checking account to avoid a monthly service fee.

I have the Freedom Flex and Unlimited, the Discover it, and I just received my Citi Custom cash card. I love putting spend on my AMEX cards but it’s nothing like no AF cash back cards👍🏽👍🏽

I had the Citi Prestige and Double Cash back and I use to be abe to transfer the points to the Prestige and have access to all of the travel partners. I believe Citi has changed that. The Double Cash back now has its own portal to transfer to partner. The list of partner for the Double Cash back and Citi Rewards is limited to three, The Choice, JetBlue and Sears. Could you be so kind to verify and let me know if I am worng? I don't have the custom cash card so I don't know if it is the same there. Thank you.

Great video. Going to go for the shopper 6% and ditch my Amazon card. I’ll use it for that and Walmart. Wonder if the 6% will code for the Sam club gas. Be a good card with the Walmart plus benefit. And no annual fee for me is a win

The grocery 5% is back? That's great.

I've had both the CFF and Discover It for well over a decade and I love them both (though I will say that I'm usually able to max out 3 of the 4 quarterly categories on Discover while that's typically only true of 2 of the 4 on the CFF). They're both permanent holds for me. Next year I'm looing to add the custom cash and cash plus, at which time I will have a complete credit card portfolio as far as I'm concerned, unless I decide to add a premium travel card at some point in the future. I'll probably pass on the shopper card because I don't shop at Target and Walmart enough for groceries to make it worth it (if you do shop there a lot for groceries, and you can make good use of the 3% category, it could be worth it even with the annual fee).

Love my 5% cards, I got the original freedom, 2x freedom flex, discover it, 2x usbank cash+, citi custom cash, and I'll get a second custom cash next month after getting the wells fargo active cash and product changing my citi double cash.

These are all great cards for the right people, and I have a few of them. I have also found that Chase's Amazon Prime Visa has sort of been an undercover category card for much of this year. Chase has sent me emails where I have to click to activate secret categories. Last quarter I got 5% off at home improvement stores. This quarter, I actually get 10% off at gas stations. There have some other bonus categories this year, but they did not appeal to me, or I had another card that was already covering those categories at the same or a better rate. The Amazon Prime Visa would certainly not be worth getting just on account of these potential bonus categories (and I stress the word potential), but they are wonderful surprises for anyone who already finds value in the Amazon Prime program.

I think you should have include the Affinity Federal Credit Union. The Cash Rewards Visa Signature can compete with any of these cards

The Custom Cash & Cash+ duo is what I'm pairing with my future Amex trifecta. 3x 5% cash back categories for no annual fee is great & you don't have to deal with those antiquared rotating categories.

The problem the usbank + have a categories that specify a list in cell phone providers and not whole, limited, and groceries etc

Video #4 of me mentioning the Abound CU Visa Platinum (5% uncapped on gas + 5% rotating categories). 😜

Another hidden gem is the Elan Max Cash Preffered. It's basically a US Bank Cash+ but with some fantastic 5% category variations incl "Recreation" (combines Sporting Goods Stores + Gyms) and "Entertainment" (combines Live Events, Movie Theaters, and Theme Parks incl Disney/Universal/Six Flags etc).

Changing categories is the dumbest thing I ever heard. If I have to change my spending habits based on their set categories just to get cash back then that will negate any cash back I get because I will need to spend money on things I don't normally buy and that equates to more money spent overall.
