Wyndham Earner biz is such a workhorse card. I’m using it on gas at Costco instead of my Costco card because 8x is too high to pass up! It’s also great for 5x on utilities. I keep it on auto-pay for utilities when I’m not actively churning a new credit card

Question is whether sams or Costco gas is better quality wise. People say Costco gas is higher quality so….

The only card worth getting is the sam club card. Which you earn 5% back. And they usually have the cheapest gas in town. About generally 20-30cents cheaper compared to other gas station.

I'm a fan of the PNC Cash Rewards card. It's got 4% back on gas, and 3% back on dining! (Plus, no annual fee!)

Brother, thanks for the info, very helpful. However I wanted to know if there is any way to confirm the 5% gasback for freedom flex will be available until the end of September or will it close on 14th sept due to change in rotating categories? I want to increase my credit score before I reapply for freedom flex. PNC cash rewards visa also gives 4% gasback and if you combine with kroger plus points which gives 10cents off /gallon effectively you have 15% off.

I've been using the US bank altitude connect for gas. Worth noting put at least 1 streaming service monthly (doesn't have to be the same one) and after 11 consecutive months you get a $30 statement credit. This brings the effective annual fee to $65.

4% cash back on gas from the Citi Costco Anywhere Visa Signature card with no annual fee. You can get it online or at the Costco membership service counter and sometimes you’ll get a cash card with it, mine was worth $50 when I was approved.

I personally love the Chase Freedom Flex as one of the best Cards for Gas right now. You can stack the 5% back on the 3rd Q Rotating Category on top of the 5% back you already get on the welcome bonus. Great video Ben!

We use the Sams Club Credit Card at gas stations, and "double dip" at Exxon/Mobil with the WalMart+ membership paid for by the Amex Platinum credit. We used to use the Costco Credit Card until we realized we got 1% more back using the Sams Club Credit Card. Definitely lost a few $$$ not fully realizing this. To do anything more as mentioned in this video, we'd have to get another credit card which is something we really don't want to do just for additional cash back or points for gas purchases.

I enjoy using the AMEX Hilton Honors Business card for gas. 6x spend even though points are worth half.

I use my shop your way cc. No one ever talks about it and it earns 5% year around and also they put out offers a couple times a year. Probably the best undervalued cc out there.

Great list! Only a couple of notable ones that you missed:

4% – PNC Cash Rewards Visa ($8k cap, $0 annual fee)

5% – Abound Credit Union Visa (uncapped, $0 annual fee, though you have to join the credit union for a $10 one-time fee). This card is especially noteworthy because they recently added 5% rotating categories (ala freedom flex, discover it) in addition to the permanent ongoing 5% on gas.

Most cards' "gas stations" bonuses are for everything you buy in a place that sells gas, not just the gas. I spend almost $500/month in convenience stores and truck stops, NOT INCLUDING GAS. So if Discover it Cash Back or Chase Freedom Flex has gas stations at 5% that quarter, that's what I use in those stores. If not, then my Citi Custom Cash is my "gas stations" card. I put just enough actual gas on there to get right to the quarterly or monthly cap. The rest of my actual gas purchases go on my PenFed Platinum which gets 5x back on gas paid at the pump. 5x back = 4.25%, redeemable as gift cards, sometimes 5%, depending on the gift cards I choose. The PenFed card is uncapped.

The Citi Custom Cash is my gas card of choice. An easy 5% every single month is perfectly fine with me! Another one that is super valuable is the Chase Freedom Flex if you have the SUB with the 5% back on gas, especially because gas is a 5% quarterly category on the flex right now. 9% back on gas for a quarter is pretty dang nice! That's about to expire though, so get it while it's hot!

Personally, I am using Juno for gas stations: Chevron, Shell and Exxon which gives me 10% cashback up to $300 per year. This is a crypto bank. So, even though it is FDIC insured, it is definitely NOT for everyone.
