Nice 😁 question which bank do you think is better for the military? As in for a checking account. Compare to my brother I can't go active since I have 2 kids and a business to maintain so im going to reserve. That means I feel like I have more options than just navy federal & USA bank

So what happens when you aren't active duty anymore? Shit your pants from the millions of dollars in annual fees now due? hahaha. I wonder if you can get a fee waiver on the centurion card…

I’m a guard member that just came back from a year deployment. I’m planning on getting the Amex card but I’m no longer on active duty will I be able to receive the scra act or does this act only apply for credits and loans prior to active time because On the Amex website it says “up too 180 days after duty” I just wanted to know if I’ll be able to get the annual fee waived for a year at least

I’ve read recently from the FB groups that a few retired servicemen were able to get annual fees waived too.

Just confirming that CITI waived the fees for my AA Executive Card without asking, this was about 3 months ago. It is my first and only card with them (moved to an AA hub so got it for their lounges). Enjoy both of y'alls videos! Thanks for all the knowledge

I have not confirmed this but you may also want to check and confirm. I think I read in the terms of the platinum card that the $200 hotel credit is over all of your amex accounts. Meaning, if you have the 3 amex plat, you would only get a $200 credit one time from all eligible cards. At least that is how I interpret it. I may try to confirm this myself soon but I am in the same boat. I have 5 separate platinum personal cards and would love the $200 credit to be for each card but i think amex is catching on to this and have written it into their agreement.

Great video and info. I am not AD any more, so the part about the AFs being waived doesn't apply to me. However, I just pulled the trigger on the USAA Cashback Rewards Plus card. I was using the Citi Custom Cash for my 5% in gas, but now I can use that card for a different category. I know the 5% on the USAA card is capped at $3000 spend per year, but, that's an average of $250 per month which fits perfectly into my budget for gas with some headroom. Cheers Shifu and Jake!

The Sears MC also offers 5x back on gas + 3x back on dining and groceries. It's actually a great card at first glance, but with a fatal flaw, the points have to be used within 12 months.
