The American Express Gold airline credit has been a frustrating travel benefit for people. But it looks like Amex is removing this benefit in the future, and hopefully they will be replacing it with a better, more user friendly benefit. The World of Hyatt credit card introduces another credit card bonus, and you get to pick which bonus you want. Then the Amex Marriott Brilliant and Marriott Business credit card have new bonuses and increased hotel status.

I've been on a long cool down period. In January, I'll be below 5/24 for the first time since the very beginning of my credit card journey. I've got a long wish list.
Looks like your dad has a zombie apocalypse bunker all ready to go.
Can you get the Marriott bonus for both the Amex business and Chase boundless?
I will call that room you are filming from "the 5/24 basement". All cantines are topped off with moonshine. Bring that credit card apocalypse!
I don't think anyone is upset with the airline credit going away. I have a good feeling that whatever they replace it with, it will be a lot easier to use to justify the annual fee of the card

"getting a $15 statement credit when you buy pizza rolls from a grocery store who's name has give letters or less in it" 1:35 that made me laugh so hard

Personally, I prefer to stay in Low to Mid tier hotels to maximize my Free/Points Nights, and since I have a Card Setup specifically for Travel, i don't really need a Platinum Status to get Free Breakfast😎.
I have to wait till July to apply for Hyatt, just in time for a couple nights stay in Vancouver next October. I'm hoping that Amex Gold adds at least $50 in value to me as a replacement, otherwise the math may send me elsewhere.
I just want 2020 to be over. I dont really want to think about 2022. Lol.
Thanks for the Hyatt news! Disappointing offer, but I'm happy because I applied for IHG yesterday. If Hyatt offer was great, I would have punched myself since I've been waiting on a good Hyatt offer for a long time.
Great update. A little disappointing that Hyatt didn’t up up with something to be more excited about after waiting for it. I don’t really have a good use for that card anyway. Always good to see competition step it up though.
I would love to see them introduce 4x on entertainment and a credit on streaming on the amex gold card
Great stuff as usual Waller…just try to get these videos out a little quicker as both Sebby and Credit Shifu covered all these topics already…the info is already old..☺️. Just kidding buddy, thanks 👍🏼
It’s going to be $10 monthly credit on groceries for 10 months. 🤔
Great review as always. One question though. I’m a basic traveler maybe couple times per year and mostly drive. What card/cards would be best for me with upper 700 scores?
That comment about the possible new benefit for the Gold Card had me laughing out loud! I'm actually glad they're getting rid of it. Lets hope they replace it with something useful and easy to take advantage of. Take care Dustin and stay safe!
What’s the better card, Hyatt or IHG?
Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite = Invitation to being bonvoyed. They will lie in your face "no suite available". Even the five SNA(suite night award) certificates that come with the status aren't a guarantee for un upgrade. Stick with Hyatt if you don't want to be lied to.
If you’re an authorized user for 6 months on an account, can you apply for the same credit card while still being an authorized user ?
The hotels are offering such great ways right now to up your status for 2021. Especially rollover nights. Those cards you describe have high minimum spend requirements. No thanks. Mid-september i signed up for AMEX HILTON surpass to gain 150k points for $3k spend. Yeah, already made it-saving pts for Maldives.
Hey Dustin, question, so I’m maxed out on Amex cc’s including the Brilliant(just completed the first year on it). What are your thoughts on canceling it and opening up the business Marriott for the 100k and platinum status and do you think this will anger Amex?
I'm a little confused about the platinum status. Is it platinum status "through" 2021 or "for" 2021?
Uber credit please
