Thanks for your patience on the Bilt card review! This was filmed ~2 months ago but held off on publishing since Bilt and Wells Fargo were hit with BIN fraud issues then. The last thing we would want is for you to get the card and get hit with fraud. The situation has improved since then.
Any affected cardholder from the fraud issues should have received an email from Wells apologizing for the issue, offering 1,000 Bilt Points, and overnighting any new cards required.

🏢 This is a no-brainer if you are renting and already have all the chase cards so you don't worry about 5/24. It's basically free points every month. Plus they have AA as transfer partner which is very rare.
It's one I want but I am still in the early game, maybe by the time I get it in a few years there will be a SUB
I think one of the use case for home owners is to use it for utilities. For example, Xfinity has $10 discount if using a checking account but only $5 discount if using credit cards. I did ask Bilt if I can use the account number and routing number for internet services, and they said yes because it's "rent related". So I guess home owners can perhaps benefit from autopay discounts using this card, especially when T-Mobile is removing autopay discount using credit cards.
Hey Sebby, 🏢 🏢 🏢
If I redeem my chase rewards points via the portal, will I get the same perks as if I bought a ticket using my reserved card? Meaning do I get delay coverage?
I don’t understand why travel hackers count pennies in dollars. 😂🤣 do you count miles in feet? It’s not just you it’s like 95% of travel hackers and it’s weird. I think I might start counting flights of stairs in number of steps. 😂😂.
Love you. Just messing.
🏢 Load $10 4x on the Starbucks app per month ($40 total) on the 1st of the month for 6% back restaurants and to meet the monthly spend requirements. If you use a different restaurant app that can preload, then use that instead.
Basically, by just paying my $2,500/m in rent on this card, I'm getting the point equivalent of maxing out Freedom Flex bonus categories every quarter, if you do the math. With none of the hassle or extra spend. Only thing to complain about is that I have to pay rent in the first place.
🏢 I’m going to skip on this card for now… but might reconsider if they add mortgage payments as a rewards category.
oooooo, i'd love to hear more about Calala Island. Yeah, home owner so this card doesn't work. But still good content as always.
i dont understand his logic on why some may want to avoid Bilt. He argues that for those living in lower cost living city they may want to opt in for other cards due to opportunity cost blah blah blah, but if you are renting, and even if the rent is under $1000, why would you ever not get Bilt? no other cards i know can pay rent with your credit card I pay only about $1000 a month for my rent and Bilt was a no brainer for me. I put all my small recurring payment on bilt (monthly icloud fee and etc) and it satisfies 5 min transaction per month and i just forget about it. if you pay rent in any amount, Bilt should be must, assuming you are in the credit card game like we all are watching this vid
🏢 right now as a college student i have the chase freedom unlimited, apple card and amex delta skymiles blue card. I am going abroad so I looking to apply for the capital one savor card, and when I get back from my abroad trip apply for citi custom cash card as my gas card and the bilt card. I think for my with the chase I will complete my chase trifecta later since I am not in a rush. What do you think of this Sebby?
I own my home, it’s a skip for now, May conceder it in the future at least for a good signup offer for a year
🏢
Why would you have a clip of Ricky Zhang on your channel? The guy browbeat an Air France customer service rep to get onto a La Premiere flight and then had the audacity to delay a Lufthansa flight causing numerous people to miss their connections. He should have been arrested when he landed at LAX for theft. The guy is a scum bag and should not be on your channel.
Thank you Sebby for the details! 🏢
this is the most niche card there is. the fact that they will write a check for rent is the draw. for everything else (excepting the minimum 4 other charges) i use other cards, which will give me more value. the points for rent i pay on this card with no additional fees, i get from no other card. it's a BONUS that i would not have otherwise.
i did amex first and wish i wouldve done Chase first ill wait and its ok. I have this card and only use it for Rent and attached 4 other subscriptions on this card to earn the Bilt Reward Points.
🏢
I don't need another points brand. I own, so there is no rent. A skip for me
I've been using it for over a year to pay rent with and have accrued over 30k points just from that. I have a roommate that pays me his portion in cash, then I pay the full amount and get all the points. Are they going to update this card so that is has tap to pay….what the heck man, even the worst cards have tap.
Could you make videos deep diving into using airline miles.. i.e. using Virgin or Flying Blue to book Business class delta. I can never seem to find the flights. Thanks. Also I live in SF and it would be cool if you did meet up’s to share knowledge
100% didn't realize the shift to no outro music until this video.
The app doesn’t statement closing date and payment due date. Where does one get that info? I had to call them!
🏢 Bilt’s fraud watch is very, very good. I paid my rent in installments and they emailed me just to make sure I wasn’t using it to Venmo to other people!
🏢It's a skip for me. My rent probably wouldn't count and I'm still nervous after all that fraud that happened.
I just picked up the card and it's great. I plan to be renting for a while, so it made total sense to pick up this card to take advantage of the fact that I can now earn points on rent. What's nicer is that rent is split between me and my girlfriend, so she just venmo's me her half and I pay the whole thing from there.
🏢 Bilt really has changed the game especially for renters. Excited to see if/when bigger issuers release a competitor card.
🏢 Hopefully this card doesn't eventually get downgraded. Still way under 5/24, or this would be a pretty hi-pri pick up! I do wonder when they'll add mortgages though, given there's been some hinting.. Also, "spend cash for economy, and save points for business/first" – spot on!
Hi Sebby What s your top 5 most luxury hotels in the world that you can book with points?
Too many issues being reported with this card, for ex fraud is very high when opening this card or the money order not being sent out to the landlord. I was close to applying but I did my research.
🏢 I have the BILT. Own a co-op and works on the monthly HOA. Also schedule auto pay for the phone and car insurance on the first for 2x points.
🏢 I use the Bilt when i'm not working through other SUBs. The rent/dining purchases/cell phone payment will allow me to top off hyatt points – ultimately adding basically one free night per year.
Hi Sebby, thanks for the review of this card. I got it several months ago and I love it because I can use it to pay rent. I also love the double points on the 1st of the month and the fill in the blank games. I know…not really useful haha but fun. 🏢
Wish this card would've been available when I was still a renter. 🏢
Woooow so this card is a better earner than the CSP but with the same protection for rental cars?!
My college student got this card. The rent piece is great for him. I have to make sure he knew about the travel points. Thanks for the video.
Huh. My apartment offers the Bilt card but didn't think much of it; we can also use other credit cards for rent but they changed it from a fixed fee (which was a steel) to a 3% fee which makes less sense to use cards.
🏢 As per usual, of all of the videos I've watched about a card, I feel as though yours has been the most thorough and informative, yet still short and sweet.
Thank you
Update: Just received it in the mail today, hefty thing.
Bilt sent me an email saying I get 5x on all purchases for the first five days
What does Virgin Atlantic joining SkyTeam mean for transferring to non-SkyTeam partners? Is this still allowed?
🏢 got the Bilt card and using it for rent to maximize my rewards. I use the Bilt card on 4 smaller subscription services I have to make sure I get the 5 times a month limit to keep points.
As a landlord I'm tempted to pick this up anyway, I've already run through most of the good sign up bonuses (except Amex but I'm in pop up jail), I can stick all my utility bills on it which covers the 5x transactions automatically and I currently don't have a 3x dining no FTF card in my lineup (though I'm considering the capitalone savorone to pair with my venturex). It's not much but it would make me a bit every month for no effort. If they ever add mortgages then it will become a no brainer. If I hold off then I'll drop to 4/24 in August which would allow me to grab one of the chase cobranded cards but I'm still unsure if I want any of them. Decisions, decisions…
Is it possible to get a personal credit review from "ask Sebby" ? Given the name, I dont see anywhere to actually ask Sebby anything directly.
🏢 The points from rent is the key for Built card I believe
I have a question… what is the best app to use to keep track of my credit card points and cash back as well as balances across my credit cards???
🏢 Like the redemption examples at the end! Kindof not related, but do you have any recommendations for economy flights to Europe with travel partners? I've used Flying Blue (KLM) in the past but wondering if there are any other good travel partners from either chase, capital one, or AMEX. Thanks!
If you've been had business platinum and they offer the bussiness blue. Should you accept? Or would you? And would there be a inquiry?
