Welcome to MtM #Vegas – Our weekly look at the cool #news and happenings in Sin City.
Whitney Houston may be gone but she will be coming back to life via hologram on the Vegas Strip. Which other performers will they bring back in the future? You can also purchase Wynn Las Vegas furntiture via auction. They are remodeling their rooms and all of the old furniture and art work is for sale. Some really good stuff.
What isn’t good is Caesars continuing to cut back. The removal of table games has been happening across their properties as has other changes including the removal of free bread at Giada’s. $9 for bread and $25 for a window seat these days. Thankfully they are using all of that money saved to buy naming right of the New Orleans Superdome.
In other news there is a really cool new 80s themed cafe now open in Vegas and MGM is looking to spend 1 trillion yen on a new casino in Osaka Bay. The location looks spectacular. If you are interested in the latest with masks make sure to check out our dedicated video earlier this week.

I totally agree with all of the dumping on Caesar’s. I switched to MLife 7 years ago and am much happier. They have better comps, cleaner rooms, and fewer bums hanging out. Instead of complaining, tell Caesar’s how you really feel by change player’s clubs to MLife, Cosmo, or Wynn. That’s the “bottom line” they need to be looking at.
I'll be at Cromwell in a week for a night. I'll let you know what I think of it, I've never stayed there. I'm not too surprised to see table games near the entrance of Cromwell go away. I've never really seen it busy especially midweek. It's definitely meant to bring in foot traffic to replace it with big flashy new machines.
Saw Whitney once I worked the show she didn’t know where she was.
Cmon push the button I always say shut your button.
One of those art prints would be cool. Hang it up in your house and say you have a Warhol.
I cancelled my September trip. Lost some money for the flight that was booked. I’m thinking I may try Biloxi, it’s no Vegas, but would be more enjoyable with no mask.
Another home run. Great job guys.
Vegas is too crowded. As long as you have 100 % consumer demand taking extra money as a business just makes sense. There is no competition in the market unless new independent casinos as World Resorts open.
Hey Mark, Shawn would either of you know if they're having the same types of problems over in Reno or Lake Tahoe? Just curious. thanks.
It would be better to see a Whitney imprestonor perform. Tacky and cash grab.
We tried the part electronic craps game at Cosmo. I didn't like throwing on glass and it didn't go well.
I’m tempted to watch Whitney if they can make it as good as MJ one show. Great update fellas keep us posted on the mask mandate will be there on the 8th 🍀🍀
1. The "traditional" you got a good seat at a restaurant was to toke the host or hostess. I'm sure they're delighted that management is trying to steal those few $ for itself.
2. Charging for BREAD? C'mon, man!
3. COVID has given the casinos an excuse to increase the move towards electronic games. Electronic games don't form unions, call in sick, require health insurance or the minimum wage. They don't make mistakes and don't get carpal tunnel injuries.
People were already paying for views at restaurants. The new fees just transfer what was being paid from the maitre d's or host's pocket to the restaurant owner's pocket. All while restaurant owner's complain that they can't find people who want to work.
There's a show called Miku from Japan that has a virtual singer, but that artist is digitally created. Never was a live person. It was a fun concert, again live band. Honestly I would go to an Elvis concert.
Honestly the public is to blame for allot of changes. People dress like their homeless in Vegas. Look at any YouTubers live-stream. If everyone dressed up like they used
to…management might respond. Lot's of people are just not spending money. They're just causing a crowd while dressing homeless…and YES management are rip off artists
I graduated high school in 1983. Looking forward to that retro 80s cafe!
Canceled my plans to go to the Star Trek convention at Rio because they said at the last minute that they were demanding Covid test or Vaxx. I know they announced it late so more wouldn't cancel
The experience in Las Vegas is pathetic now a days. I know everything changes and most of their income comes from services, but it’s just not worth it. People will still have some fun, but you used to feel great going to Vegas even if you lost. No going back but just a place I want consider going more than once every couple of years.
You said skill involved in electronic games. No there is no skill they can can the win percentages which mean more profits. The same principle behind slot machines.
Question. After all the paperwork gets done. How long do you think it would take the new company to come out ahead? Being that all goes normal with covid etc etc.
Wait for them to charge for using the restroom!
MGM is planning to leave town- putting it all in for Asia. They are hoping for results like Sands has realized in Asia. Getting in too late! Good bye!
