Sadly my home airport lounge sucks (Pittsburgh). There is one Priority Pass one and it apparently sucks. The downside of not being in a bigger city or hub. I do have to transfer a lot through other cities which is probably where I'd get most benefit of this perk.
I have the business venture x. Love the card since it doesn't report on your personal credit score.
I just took your advice and got approved. I never carry a balance, but on the application I simply put that I always carry balance.

If I was to book a rental car or hotel through the Capital One Travel Portal, will they honor my status with the specific hotel or rental service company? Venture X gets Hertz Presidential status for example, would they honor that in the booking?
Can you refer someone who is an authorized user?
Yeah, gave up on C1. Have had 25 cards, and after being denied twice for the Venture X, I'm done. A few years ago, my wife was approved for a C1 Quicksilver after only recently getting her citizenship, and had only a few months of credit history. Gave her a crucial foothold, as she wasn't getting approved anywhere else. Now they constantly send mailer offers for her brother-in-law (authorized user on her card). However, CapOne won't give me the time of day.
They only want immigrants, not Americans. lol 🧼

🧼 Great video. My recent experience aligns with the data point C1 does not like a lot of "recent" new accounts. In Jan '23, I was denied for the Savor One card due to having too many recent accounts – I opened 4 card accounts in 2022.

I think a good video to cover, especially for people who have never seen this side of the travel/rewards world, would be to show them the credit card game. What’s a good starter (chase) or what’s a good end game (amex) and everything in between. Never seen a video like that covering all the different set ups and when they’re ideal on your rewards journey.

I had it for a year, I definitely used a majority of the benefits it had to offer (even got to experience one Priority Pass Restaurant at YUL airport before the program got deprecated). I have since downgraded to the VentureOne since I am now more heavily invested into American Express (Platinum, Gold, Aspire, Delta Gold) and plan on collecting more SUBs with them.
Thanks for the info! I watched before applying and got approved. My credit score is excellent and I have strong income, but I do carry balances over month to month so I think I fit the customer bracket you were talking about.

🧼 I have the card, was sent promo info from Cap1 about the card. Have a venture card already with 20k limit with no debt owed. I applied and get denied and tried recon line and still denied. So i opted for a product change because the C is free to have since i take advantage if points. It was frustrating but we use card as a catch all

I’m unsure what CC to get next? I’ve completed the chase trifecta (w the CSP) and currently am looking at this card or the AMEX gold. I travel only about once a year but the Venture X seems so much easier to use. Any thoughts?
i cant stand cap one, i literally have a QS Visa with a CL of $600 have had the card for 4 years and not once do they ever increase my credit limit, i keep it and just charge $10 to keep it active i really dont understand what they look at.

I have venture X and savor card. It’s such a good set up. With this set up, I’m able to go on vacation twice a year !
🧼 Anyone with a score above 740+ has no business applying for a Capital One card. They do a hard pull on all 3 bureaus and you'll have that mark on your credit report for 2 years. They will deny you because you reliably pay on time. They only want customers that revolve their credit.

As an AU on my wife's Venture X I have to say it is one of the best cars available by far. I'm knee deep in the AMEX ecosystem with Plat, Gold, EDP, and Hilton Aspire and Chase with CSP, Freedom, and IBP. Since we use DFW more than any other major airport the C1 lounge is the one we frequent most often by far. (We haven't been to the DFW Centurion since the C1 Lounge opened.) I had been thinking it was an obvious move to get my own C1 set up with an X and Savor; but now I wonder fi I can get approved.
Is there any info that indicates getting the "plain" Venture is more likely than the X in this circumstance??

I got the capital one venture x card only issue for me was that I took a trip in October of 2022 and I received my $300 credit in January of 2023. So far it’s cool hopefully when I go again on another trip it won’t take that long to give me my credit. I know as soon as I got approved about 2 weeks later that annual fee showed up. The only reason I'm going to Taylor Swift is Ticketmaster reached out to us after the blunder of the sale and now I have floor seats. Capitol One did not help in that scenario and what's funny is I couldn't get my CO card to work at the time so I had to use my Apple Pay Card.

I've watched alot of videos on the Venture X cc; and although it's an amazing card it's not one I'm going to pick up (right now and/or ever). I'm in the AMEX eco currently running up my gold card points and going to get the platinum soon. Luckily, my cousin will be an authorized user (military) so that'll wave all my fee's. Since my gf is rebuilding/establishing credit I'm going to educate her on the Capital One ecosystem and maybe run a 2 player game in the future to maximize her travel points. Capital One reached out to me with a free offer to upgrade to the Venture X.
Can you provide support on your claim that Savor 1 cash back are also venture miles? I called Capital 1 a few months back and they said Savor rewards do not synergize with Venture miles like you claim and the Savor Card TC doesn't support you
My advise is to keep trying the pre-approval tool. Once you’re pre-approved for the venture card, you will most likely be approved for the Venture X
Been with the venture X for a year now and love it. I've also paired it with my SavorOne to boost up my miles faster. It's a great and simple two card setup.

Video idea: best bookings through Capital One Travel. I have the Venture X and am having a hard time using the $300 credit. I just booked two trips: every flight, hotel, and rental car was cheaper elsewhere. They won't price match Costco and will nitpick rates like if a rental car reservation is refundable vs non, so the price-match feature is effectively worthless. 🧼
