I rather have miles, why would you want to spend $100 to get $1/$1.50 cash back?

With Discover, Barclay, Citi and Amex revamping their card benefits, I hope Chase can stick out and not start slashing benefits. Go Sapphire Reserve!!!!!!

I only do cash back cards I have a large amount of monthly spend and for me its kind of like a coupon I use for everything. I take the cash back and invest it.

I am new to the game, but it seems that over the long term cash back would be king. I can take that 1%-5% and invest it. Over the long term, it would provide more value then if I redeemed them for miles. Maybe I am missing something.

I don't fly. I rather put the cash on a high yield savings account and a dividend portfolio. I currently use the Amazon Prime card, Uber, and Discover IT

Great video as always! 👍 My favorite cash back card is the Uber Card because of the cell phone protection benefit.

I prefer cash myself. Even if i use a chase freedom those ultimate reward points are paid into my brokerage account and it works flawlessly for me. That extra cash is used to invest with.

I personally use cash back right now. Points and miles like you said are only good for travel. Because points dont have a set value. But if you plan to travel that's a whole different story

I agree, points for travel are typically more lucrative especially if you enjoy enhanced or luxury travel. As I explained in my recent video, it all comes down to Cash Back vs Luxury Travel.

Thanks!

Shifu, you have mentioned before that the points earned for hotel can be used by one to four persons in the same room. That's an exceptional value.on the flipside cash back to purchase a washing machine could be used by the entire family.

I'm sort of new the the credit card game so thanks for this valuable information.

One of my go to cards for cash back is the citi double cash card. I use this one for my monthly bills and get the 2% back because I pay the balance in full. For my everyday spending i just upgraded to the American Express blue cash preferred from the blue cash everyday.

Now I'm ready to earn points. I have a travel card thru my credit union and I just received the sign up bonus when I paid for a trip that I was already saving for. This card gives me 6% on all travel , 3% on gas, and 2% on everything else. I love the cash back I get from Citi but I'm moving my bills to my travel card because now I see that there is more value in the points!

Agree with you- if you have no intention of traveling, ONLY use cash cards. If you travel, then best to use points/miles card . If you are a frequent flyer (3-7x) per year, best to buy an upgradable ticket and then use points/miles to upgrade (my opinion). Great diagram by WTM. Can you make a video on how to earn max miles on each airline partner- Example maximizing points on Star Alliance (talk about how many cards can transfer to Star Alliance and the point/mile transfer ratio.
