A few years ago, i tried to open a chase bank account n got turned down. It had nothing to do with Chex system as I never defaulted on a bank account. Later tried to open a chase c.c. and found out they think I have an old charge off with them from about 15 years ago. They said I had a chase slate card but I know i did not. I did my own research and figured out j.p. Morgan bought providian bank a long time ago and I did default with them. seems they just say chase slate bc they have no other comparable low credit for beginners card and thats the closest to it. Hate being blacklisted from a company I have never done business with due to mistake 15+ years ago. Amex let me back in, found it hilarious my last year summary said we celebrated 14 years ago, they weren't celebrating when they sent that law firm after me! But seriously I almost wanna try opening a chase bank account again now that I have positive credit history just to see what happens. do they ru n a hard inquiry?

I just closed my chase checking account (got the $300 offer last year). I prefer Charles Schwab. I dont need physical branches. Chase doesn't offer any benefits and has dumb requirements. Also, $15k at 1.5% apr is around $56 interest that you are giving up to get the $200

By savings bonus only required me to deposit 10,000. I know there are two different offers one is 10,000 and the other is 15,000

Could you do an updated video on hotel credit cards? Right now I don't have any of them and I want to take advantage of the best signup bonuses with a focus on cards that might get retried soon.

Was planning on switching banks from Wells Fargo so glad I watched your video …now I’m getting a new bank and an extra 300$ thanks @asksebby

Are you going to do a video on Citi Thankyou Premier? It’s a really good commuter card. The signup bonus isn’t what it used to be. Formerly 50k and now 30k. However, the base benefits are great for commuters.

Is there any downside to doing this, if you're considering Chase Private Client? If you park $15k in the savings, does that effectively waive fees on the checking?

If I have a chase student account, could I close my current account pull everything and reopen another actual adult checking account ? I have the direct deposit to make it work for fees and stuff and the requirements

Already taking advantage of this!  I opened my accounts last month.  In my invitation they didn't offer an online signup.  I think they required me to visit a branch last time I did this as well.  I signed up for the Checking, Savings and Freedom Unlimited accounts.  Bonus find was that Chase does Bill Pay directly with Quicken software.  I guess the thing I didn't like was the hour spent with the bank rep trying to get me involved with things I had no interest in.  But on the bright side, I can say I made $650/hr (even if it was only for one hour on one day) 🙂

They should be like US Bank and waive the fee when you have a credit card with them.

Can you do a video on the Fidelity Cash Management account and how it stacks up against the Charles Schwab Brokerage account? There aren't any videos on FCM accounts.

Great video as always but just to let you know there is also a $300 bonus for opening a chase business account. Oh and fyi if anyone here is a veteran it will waive fees for business and personal accounts with Chase

I got the $300 Chase bonus back in September and I still have the account open to not have it clawed back.  So I will close it in March.  But I'll have to wait to open again later this year.

Sebby…Just curious… I know you are comfortable holding many active credit card accounts. How many active open checking accounts are you willing to have take advantage of attractive offers like this? I already have 3 checking accounts, and while $500.00 is not insignificant, I just don't know if it makes sense to have so many checking accounts… I am curious on your thoughts…

Gah, online sign-up broken (at least for people who already have a chase.com account), and now the link has expired.

now chase has the $50 bonus when opening a college checking account with 10 qualifying transactions so does that mean 10 debit card purchases from any store/merchant at any price?

Hello, I have 2 questions, 1) In the terms and services section on the chase site, it states that "Checking offer is not available to existing Chase checking customers. Savings offer is not available to existing Chase savings customers" What if I have a chase college account and I want to open a savings with the savings offer? Would that still work? 2) What do they mean by new money? I already opened a chase savings account online and got to the part where I can transfer from my checkings account. I transfered the $10,000 to my savings account (this is the new promation they have, maintain a balance of 10k and get $150) Would that still apply as new money? It's cool if I don't get the $150 I just wanted a savings account anyways.

Are there a specific amount of direct deposits they want? Also do they expect direct deposit of a specific amount? And last can I just make transfers from my savings or checking account from a different bank so it counts as direct deposit? Thank you!

How long do I have to set up a direct deposit after opening a checking account. 60days? 10days?
