The Preferred seems better for most people now The only big benefits the CSR gives is the better redemption through the travel portal and the Priority Pass access, and you can get Priority Pass pretty easily elsewhere.
Great comparison man. I still think Chase cards are only good for the welcome offer. #teamamex take care and keep moving forward!
Wait so what about the chase sapphire preferred people who opened the card when the bonus sign in points were only 60,000 after spending the 4000$ ? 😭 I love my chase sapphire card but this isn’t fair
Cool video
I got my calculator out and was going to say that 82,000 UR's is the magic number … but you beat me to it!!! 🙂
I wonder about that Emergency Medical Evaluation benefit on the CSR. Unlikely to ever be needed, but I do think about the "peace of mind" argument …
Hoping they bring back refresh the original Sapphire Card
$0 AF, $100 Hotel Credit, $25 additional hotel credit for each authorized user.
3X Dining and All Grocery, 2X Travel and Streaming
20% Anniversary Point Bonus. 125,000 Signup Bonus after spending $2K in 6 months.
This is a fantastic comparison! I def agree with you on all your points. For me, I like the CSP since I do transfer partners anyways so the multiplier is negated. People with the CSR really need to decide if they want to pay $250 for priority pass
I got denied because I have a high balance on some other accounts. Do I need to pay them off to get accepted for a sapphire? The high balance is from these blinds that my mom wanted to buy so we opened a credit card for that company. We make payments on it but it’s probably a high balance. Does this need to be paid off?
Congratulations Chase.
Mission accomplished in transferring people from the CSR to the CSP. From the mediocre SUB to the uninspiring refresh, it’s clear that they wanted anyone who got into the Chase ecosystem in 2016/2017 with the CSR to jump ship as it’s well documented that they were losing money on the CSR. It’s really hard to find a compelling reason not to switch, unless you REALLY like Prioity Pass restaurants and require 6 hour trip delay insurance. Overall, Chase really is the best cash back system for those who want to occasionally travel and use a travel portal to do so. If Citi can get its act together it potentially can challenge Chase in this space.
Keeping the Preferred; provides all that I need, without perks I don't. I have the Amex Platinum (for the new-to-Amex 100k bonus, pre-refresh) and know from empirical observation that unlimited lounge access doesn't provide enough value to me to justify that annual fee, and the sweet spot is with the Hilton Surpass/Amex Green when it comes down to usage vs. cost. YMMV. Too many bloggers/sites tout the premium cards without being brutally honest about the breakage that is common with the average person. If you consistently fly more than 10 times a year or at least every 37 days on average, then the Reserve could be worth it. For everyone else, there's Mastercard…ehh…the Sapphire Preferred. 😄
I would love to know how to get both Southwire cards. It will be most interesting to see. Great video I agree I think I’m going to get this card the preferred in four months when I’m on the 524
CSR if you travel for work frequently. Think 10+ for trips per year.
Otherwise the CSP for the occasional flyer (1-2 flights a year). 3x UR points for Instacart is a great deal.
Does Conn's,Rent A Center, and Ashley's Furniture charge a hard inquiry to finance small items?is the myth of buying something small from one of those places to get another account showing on your credit profile, true?
I have 2 credit cards.(thin file.)credit guru's and mortgage brokers tell me not to get a new credit card to get a third account reporting on my profile.
Won't adding any new account lower my length of credit history…resulting in loss of credit history…and therefore loss of points on my fico score?
How can I increase my score without dramatically dropping my score? This is absolute craziness!lol….
I really wish someone would do a video on us Chase Sapphire preferred, and if it’s worth it to use your points on the experiences. I just earned that 100,000 point bonus and I’m wondering if it would be an OK or good idea to use them on the experiences on the trip
This is some thing I have never seen someone make a video. And on the chase portal I can use points to pay for experiences on trips in West
great video! I'll stick with my Preferred
Liked and subbed! Great video and content senor!
thanx for the education
Dustin, if I downgrade my CSR to the CSP, do I have to wait one year to upgrade it again, if I would want to? Another way of asking this question is: do I only have the opportunity once per year–within 30 days of the annual fee being charged–to upgrade/downgrade between these two cards … or can I upgrade/downgrade whenever and Chase will just prorate the annual fee?

I just applied for the preferred and got the annual fee waived for the first year. Cool benefit when you go in person.
New sub! What are your thoughts with pairing the CSP with a hotel card? I really like the Marriot Bonvoy that I would want to pair with the CSP 🙂
I wish that I can give you 100k likes 👍 per video, I canceled my reserved card 2 years ago I am considering applying for a preferred card ( never had one ). Thank you 😊 very much for this video
I just got mine CSP😊
