The Chase Sapphire Reserve annual fee is increasing up to $550. This actually cam in at the beginning of 2020 but they have been issuing $100 credits to keep the annual fee at $450 since people weren’t traveling.

Still an awesome card! Great video!
Heck I'm thinking about getting rid of my Amex Platinum and get this before my AF hits.
50% travel portal at Reserve Optimized – player 2 and player 3 with preferred and ink UR points gets converted from 25% travel portal use to 50% travel portal usage = Keep Reserve
not sure if it's racist that this white guy is using an asian name youtube name and has a stereotypical "old wise asian man" as his youtube icon
I renew on August 1st and then in the same letter it says the af will be 550 for renewals after 8/31. Kinda strange vibes and the letter contradicts itself.
You guys and these annual fees I don't know how you do it.
id like to downgrade to the freedom flex but its not an option wth
I am most likely going to downgrade to the CSP card. The reserve is a great card, I am just not able to take advantage of all the benefits.
I think Chase is going to offer all cardholders a $100 statement credit for the remainder of the year. The number of people who will threaten to cancel their Sapphire or downgrade it will cost them even more in customer support. If they make it go into effect on January 1st, 2022, I will completely understand. They will have to offer a few new useful credits to justify the fee.
The Lyft Pink Membership and Doordash Credits expire this year. They need to make those permanent benefits.
Data point/Warning: I'm not sure if this was stated anywhere but apparently chase's 5/24 rule applies to credit line increases. I just got denied for a credit limit increase and the representative cited the 5/24 rule. I'm not sure if this was a thing or has been a thing but I was under the impression that 5/24 only applied to new lines of credit through Chase and not increases. Just wanted to post this data point if anyone else was unaware or if this is something new. It could totally just be me.
I just got in under the wire my renewal is on July 1 and i got two years at $450. Still my keeper card
If they get rid of the DoorDash and Lyft benefits, I’m definitely canceling
It's been 550 the whole time bro
SCAMdemic.
cancelling it before my annual fee is due. Amex plat despite the higher fees makes more sense with all the amex offers and the $200 prepaid hotel. With CSR, you have to spend a ton to recoup the extra $250 in fees after credits.
Definitely would be interested in that "is it worth it" video. Ready to bring in some new cards to the wallet (assuming either the sign up bonuses or perks are worth it!)
I thought it had gone up from 450 to 550 already like a year or two ago
They need to get rid of the fee for authorize users and that would justify keeping the card
I'm betting the new benefit will be $100 towards purchases for wooden Dutch shoes.
I don't understand the hype behind CSR the benefits are pretty mediocre to me.
Can you please check to see if the American Express gold card is being discontinued
Maybe they can give a $25 helmet credit for the peloton membership. 😉
Wait… the CSP is going up to 150? Or still a rumor?
It is clear that both Chase and Amex are trying to get rid of the people that have these cards to create an image, but that don't really need these cards or use them enough for the issuer to make a real profit. We live in a society where certain credit cards are considered prestigious and even people that do not need these expensive high fee cards get them because they believe it enhances their image. These cards lose some of the flex when multiple people ask for separate itemized checks.
Surprised Chase doesn't have a $250 card to compete with the AmEx Gold. Maybe a Sapphire Blue with categories from the Freedom cards that you could actually use.
this blows they're increasing with no announced new benefits. Gross
