Talk about priority pass if its worth it in 2022
π Great explanation! I have the CSP, was thinking about maybe upgrading. I have my gold card do most of the restaurant purchases.
CIP is a poor manβs CSR.
Loving mine. More cats for 3x, including travel, still have access to the Portal, I think it has primary cdw? Not too overly concern, since also have the United Explorer card for that.
Honestly was waiting for Sebby's 2022 CSR take, glad to watch this
π I wanted to close my csr but I kept it because I was trying to get a refund for some travel I booked in 2021. The customer service has really gone downhill and I will definitely cancel next year if I don't see any improvement.
Please comment on revamped DoorDash perk for April 2022.
honestly as a travel card it's missing tbh… especially with the capital one venture x sporting better lounges, better annual fee, better intro bonus, and comparable multipliers with decent partnerships… they're also skimping some features onto the preferred card that are better for everyday users like streaming credits etc…. i think the ideal setup for most everyday people now would be to run a csf/cff with a csp and then cap off everything with the venture x…. I think bigger spenders could sub out venture x for amex plat if they wanted
πLove my CSR. I use the DoorDash credit. Great travel partners. You get get 3x travel outside the portal unlike the Venture X
And 2% on everything. Chase needs to start offering a 2% credit card.
Right now Capitol one Venture X and savor are the best combo

I'm at least keeping my preferred until I can figure out how to book an ANA round trip. There's so many guides but it's still like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Always welcome your insightful videos and analysis, Sebby. I think the CSR is fine and I also think Chase doesn't want to spend anymore on this key tool in their marketing budget! π Jaime Dimon said that the CSR loses money but hinted that it brought in more overall in other products and relationships. 2 other minor points, based on others stories, Chase's customer service pales in comparison to AMEX's. Also while the AMEX Platinum does not have Primary CDW, I spent $25 on a week long rental through the Premium Rental Car Coverage benefit. It was good enough for me that time, but now I use my CSP and I'm all good!
π
πYou nailed it on the Hyatt in cities and such. I definitely prefer Hyatt to a Marriott property in a city like Taipei. Sometimes the points are nearly 30% more and you're not really getting anything extra in comparison. Also, were you able to snag one of the Omega X Swatch's?!?!
π
Most overrated card. No way a premium card should have the same earning rate than their annual free cards
π I find it hard to justify an annual fee while Iβm trying to save for a house and forgo fancy vacations
I think post pandemic, the cc companies need to adjust and make better benefits for the annual fees cards. Amex platinum i no longer use bc the into 10x offer is over so all purchases are 1x
Why would i want 1x pts when gold gives 5x pts
πnice CSR summary. Canβt wait your IHG credit card π³ update review.
1,000th like!

Being in the military, I am fortunate in that I get both the CSR and Amex Platinum for free. Having said that, if I had to pay for both I would choose the CSR. While the amex provides sweet lounge access (centurion and delta) and I do use the audible and peacock credits, the CSR does provide priority pass access and is much more user friendly with the multipliers and travel credit. I really only use my amex for lounge access tbh. The CSR I am constantly using for food and parking/tolls up here in Washington.
Just started the credit card game for about a year now, your channel has been great and really informative! We currently have the CSP, have had it for about 5 years. So we should be eligible for a new bonus moving up to the CSR. Can you walk me through the exact process of downgrading my current CSP and applying for the CSR? How long should I wait from the downgrade to apply?
I wish it came with some sort of hotel status!
π
πmaybe Chase is going slot in another higher tier card above CSR.
π Love the analysis Sebby!

πThe annual fee on this card is coming up and I'm still undecided on renewing as I already have the Amex Platinum and recently got approved for the Venture X. I don't find value in the 50% redemption bonus as I don't get value out of using their portal or the pay yourself program. I mostly use it to transfer to Hyatt. The primary car rental coverage I use on average 1-2X per year, though I wouldn't value it as much as technically my personal insurance would kick in if I didn't use the card. I do occasionally use Priority Pass for flights to Mexico and Buffalo, but the Venture X covers that.
π Any other points to consider in keeping this card given my lineup compared to downgrading to the Preferred? π
