The pay yourself back feature for the CSR is awesome. But, AMEX Platinum is doing 10x back on grocery and gas till May(?). So Rock crushed scissors! Hyatt is my favorite Chase card right now. And the CSR covers travel items not covered by the AMEX Platinum.

No Targeted Bonus for my 4 cards 🙁
Here's what Chase should do to become more valuable and make me care about their points again instead of optimizing for cash back:
– Bump up earnings rates to match program devaluations in their partner programs. Points are less valuable and there's no travel right now anyway, so there's no sense in chasing them (particularly with airlines like United devaluing twice during the pandemic so far). Points have devalued to the 1.5cpp Chase "floor value" or even below that. We should stop pretending they have more value.
– Add more programs. Aeroplan is nice, but the addition is post devaluation and won't take effect until nearly next year. There are lots of programs out there with still attractive award charts – Asiana, Aegean, Turkish, LifeMiles, AAdvantage, and more. I mean, add Starlux Airlines COSMILE for all I care, just give me more options!
– 2021 is a write-off given how badly the government has botched vaccine roll-out and the new UK strain causing infection rates to spike and new shutdowns everywhere. Why are all of these special promotions ending in March or April or whatever, particularly when most of them involve in person retail (such as grocery stores) which I'm absolutely not doing right now? I'm buying almost everything from Amazon so run some Amazon promos, or promos that work with big box stores like Target and Walmart.

Hi Sebby, I have Chase Saphire with 73,000 points and Chase IHG Rewards with 146,000 points. (I also have Hilton Expire with 196k points and Amex Delta with 79,655 points. I am looking to do two vacations to Thailand this summer. What new cards do you recommend I apply for which would help me build usable points for my trips. (I pay off all my bills each month with a 3-4k spend and have a credit score of about 800 so qualifying for card(s) should not be a problem. Thanks for the help!

If you receive a Hyatt credit card offer in your email, but you're above 5/24, would this offer bypass the 5/24 rule? I received a hyatt offer in my email the other day and unsure if I should try to apply or not.
Re: IHG Mastercard… Now that they've finally(!) added NFC tapping to that specific card, there's also an offer of tap – card, NOT phone – three times ($3.50 minimum each) by Feb 28 for 1000 points. Thought I'd mention that.

You are right. They shouldnt need to make you have to manually do all the work. It should be available automatically with just a notification and as you mention about Gamification, it would be a really good strategy to do that because this would attract alot more newer applicants as well as keeping the existing ones. It should be a thing , whether there is a pandemic or not. I think there are some aspects of it with other banks besides chase, which is what keeps my accounts open with them.
