Chase Vs Wells Fargo | Is Wells Fargo Travel Portal Better? – Waller’s Wallet

by YouTube Team

The Chase Travel portal gets a lot of attention when you redeem your Ultimate Reward points with the Chase Sapphire Reserve at 1.5 cents per point. But, the Wells Fargo trifecta is a power combination of credit cards and when redeemed points are redeemed for airfare are worth 1.5 cents per point as well.

So does the Wells Fargo portal outdo the Chase portal?

Using WF Cash Wise bonus and then all Go Far Rewards towards WF mortgage. Auto redeems at 25. I switch b/t CW and AR on mobile payments now. I’ll get the wife the Propel and Cash Wise down the road while we still have WF mortgage. I’ll have access to All the other portals anyways. I value that return as cash back plus interest rate competes well.

So to maximize benefit, it looks like you want to have access to Amex, Chase, and Wells Fargo portals…

The one thing that remains constant here is that you have to check all options. Never assume your one portal is the best deal. Regardless of the implied value the bank tells you there is at 1.5 for your points.

I'm assuming you can book hotel rooms too right?

I've been wanting to see a review of the Wells Fargo portal for some time. I could not find any videos that actually show the value of the Wells Fargo points using the portal itself… until now. Other videos only showed the points you can potentially earn, but not the actual value you get. Thanks for the practical content.

Interesting… hmm… nice video, the wells fargo swtup seems viable if you primarily book hotels through hotel rewards programs… But the fact that wells fargo has no annual fee makes it pretty compelling

My issue besides the bad history of Wells Fargo is the insanely draconian sign up bonus restrictions. If you want to earn the max SUB, it would take years to pull off this trifecta.

Thanks. Great summary of a disgusting company.

Thanks for very good content. Only thing Wells Fargo is lacking of Priority Pass or similar. If they have that, it will be killer setup.

I already know the answer to this before even watching the video. Yes, the Wells Fargo portal is better FOR FLIGHTS. Why? Frontier and SouthWest Can be booked in the portal, and, they don't inflate. However, the 1.5x bump on Signature only applies to flights.

WF is becoming a viable alternative to Chase and Amex. Trifecta can take a few years since they have a 15 month window between cc applications. My advice is to get the Propel and Gold first. The Black signature has no sign up bonus. ( First 6 months has 5% bonus on gas and groceries )

Another GREAT comparison of portal Waller,,,,, VERY WELL DONE.
I always felt that google can if they wanted to be the best travel search for pricing with the airlines, but I don't think the airlines what that and there's a deal with google not to get much deeper with searches compared to what they have on our search history.
Our search profiles have become too customized, thus we don't all the same results.
Finding the best price/etc take work, and a lot of my friends don't realize how much I search for the best value, they just figure I got a lot of miles and points and that's it. I probably search 4-5 times as much as my average friend because of discrepancies like you pointed out.

Cash Wise should extend the mobile wallet bonus indefinitely. Plus maybe a bump if you redeem to their robo-investor since they get fees but also it would investing in them.

No to Wells Fargo and their F with the BBB, they've already committed identity theft against me personally, using my birth name. Recently they've been caught tricking their customers into buying junk mutual funds. They just can't seem to get it together.

I really like the new verbiage and the way you say it for your intro man. Thumbs up! This is eye opening for sure. For no annual fee this is great! But with so many ecosystems, how are you suppose to spread your spend and accrue enough points without having to wait 5 or 10 years to have enough points to use them? I guess you have to pick and choose which ecosystem works best for you and stick with it right? Maybe have two? Credit card world is very competitive. Great video Dustin. Take care and happy travels!

I honestly thought about getting this set up simply because I’m over 5/24, and don’t have enough history to get AMEX yet.
