Would it be better than the Chase set up?

It still lost the benefits so.

But chase has better and more travel partners which makes up in my opinion for whatever earning rate difference.

When should I apply for the double cash? Should I do it in the next few days or wait and see what Chase ends up doing?

Nice to see Citi offer this but not a game changer in my opinion. With most being able to get the no annual fee Blue Business Plus with Amex it makes the Citi DC a little less exciting. Especially since it debuts a day after Citi officially nix the benefits of all their cards.

A positive change, sure. Game changer? Not really considering that Amex and Chase still have direct transfers to partners and both pair with a large domestic whereas Citi doesn't. Most of us Citi folks are still feeling the heartburn from the change thats coming in a few days…so again, while a positive change and appreciated, Citi gets no "rah-rah" moment from me.

Awesome video and thanks for bringing this to the attention of the audience. Until the next one!

Very interesting. I’ve been on the hunt for the “perfect” mortgage payment card and everyday spend on MasterCards can be pretty limiting.

The best I could figure out was the Amtrak card at 1 cent per point (TPG values these at 2.5c per point, for some reason).

I think this is it though. Thanks for the video!

So, you don't have to have the Premier or Prestige to earn ThankYou points? Because with Chase, you have to have one of the Sapphire cards to convert. That's awesome that Citi allows you to product change to pretty much any of their cards. That's great. And yeah, you're exactly right..this move is a win win for us all. Hopefully this will stir the pot and make Chase and American Express make some positive changes. This video was chalked full of great info, Dustin. Keep up the great work and happy travels!

Interesting. I was thinking about applying for the Citi Premier card soon, due to upcoming one time expenses. I also have the Amex Everyday card and am curious about the upcoming Green card refresh. I guess until that comes out, I won't know if I should do a Citi setup with this and the Premier or an Amex setup with the green card and the everyday. Also, it's strange that this change comes out not too long after the Citi rewards plus card, which only gets 2x points and supermarkets and gas stations.

Did I miss- understand? You mentioned once you switch your points from TY to an airline, we have 90 days to use them or lose them?

This is a weird card to go for since the Blue Business Plus is better. 50K limit too low? Activate player 2. Not to mention that it may not be worth it to some to jump into Citi TYP ecosystem without paying that opportunity cost from maximizing UR and MR with other cards.

Chase freedom unlimited is still better for non bonus spend if you plan to use the portal. Assuming you have CSR and all else is equal. 2.25% effective rate. Don’t think the Citi has any multipliers for portal?

Definitely competes directly with the Blue Business Plus and Capital One Spark Miles. Now Chase needs to get into the 2X market.

Nick Reyes at Frequent Miler just posted an excellent, informative EYNTK piece on Turkish Miles&Smiles domestic award redemptions on United. Make sure u put your bib on cuz Nick spoonfeeds everything to u, even what buttons to push to navigate Miles&Smiles phone menu lol. FM does great work!

I agree with Shamrock 2808 Heavy's earlier comment – overall positive but not a game changer….yet.

Citi is the only Lender offering Turkish Miles&Smiles as txfr option though. For those on the east coast looking to get to HI, 15K roundtrip is hard to beat if u can schlep it for 10+ hrs in economy.

If I didn't have such a huge stash of BA Avios for HI trips, I'd likely dip my feet back into Citi's pool after I cannonballed their AA bonuses for 150K bonus miles earlier this year.

Excellent commentary in this one Dus! U really nailed it with the Plastiq angle and Miles&Smiles options.

Citi is pushing really hard to appeal to consumers with their point earning cards… I wonder what's going to happen to the Citi Thank You Rewards credit card now…

Waller's Wallet. I have about 3k "grocery" spend each month. It is with a particular company that is only coded groceries with Visa and Mastercard. Amex has it listed as a wholesaler.
I've been looking at AA miles up and ihg card(4x points year 1) do you think this is better.
I get random values online for each points. But most say AA are about 1.4 cents each. I had a hard Time finding much better than flat 1 cent. Ihg look like .6 to .8 cents at nicer properties if you figure in 4th night free and taxes.
I'm new to this and have never flew yet but looking forward to. Currently have 120k UR points and 250k Barclay's arrival miles.
Thank you for your feedback love your channel and know it must be hard to keep up with comments. But I am struggling with this

The bigger CC channels haven't covered this yet. Great scoop on them Waller! I already have the doublecash (because it's a no annual fee card), but this actually makes me want to get the Prestige now to have access to their portal and transfer partners.

I was considering product changing my double cash to a Costco card but ever since few months ago when I heard this would be happening I’ve decided to keep the double cash even if it’s only transferable to JetBlue that’s still a step up finally citi doing something right it’s a good card for none category spend I’ll take a 1-1 transfer ratio to JetBlue.

Does this mean you can transfer ThankYou points to cash back percentages if you convert it the other way?

Data point: I attempted last year to open the Citi Rewards + card, get the bonus, then product change to the Double Cash. I did open the card, but was told on the phone by a rep that I must wait one full year before I can product change. 🙁
