The Citi Premier has been a pretty good travel credit card, but Citi is updating the Premier with new bonus multipliers and a new hotel benefit. But all is not good, they remove one of the key benefits to this card as well. With these changes, is the Citi Premier credit card worth it?

Weekend Waller!!!
Citi Premier just feels like a sugarcoated Wells Fargo Propel. I just see it as a first year card before product changing to the Double Cash.
I actually don't really mind the new changes. I like the bonus categories, except for losing the broad travel category. The multipliers are decent as well. Losing the 1.25 redemption is not that big of a deal since I would probably transfer my points out anyway. Not game changing but not horrible. Great video Dustin. I was waiting on this one from you. Take care and stay safe!
Nice… Did you change your look ? It is good.
I will get this card for the bonus and cancel after one year
I just have one question. If I redeem points through the portal would it be worth it ? I really don’t fly. So using points for hotels is the best option for me. After saying that does this card makes sense for someone like me ?
Coronavirus situation took your energy down a couple notches lol
Citi working hard on pushing people away from TYP. It's a currency not worth getting into as there is little upside and too much effort. Maximizing UR and MR works better for me.
Quarantine hair is growing out. #Flow
I live in Hawaii. This is a great change for me and Citi is very high on my list for cards to get because I can use the 15k domestic round trip deal with Turkish Airlines.
Haha, that is $5k category spend for a domestic round trip ticket. I'm assuming Turkish Airlines is going to eventually strip this perk, but it's one of the best in the game.
Citi was one of my favorite Banks all my cards with them are in the back burner!
Kept my Premier for a year, but after Citi stripped travel protections, I downgraded to the no annual fee Rewards+. These changes don’t make me want to switch back. Think I’ll focus on MR and UR.
Citi takes 1 step forward and 3x steps back (pun intended).
– Still no insurance
– No more travel portal 1.25 boost.
– No more 3x on rental cars, cruises, travel websites, parking garage, nor Uber/Lyft.
Citi ThankYou points further devalued after removing the 1.25% portal boost. Getting 3x on dining and groceries for $95 annual fee while for $130 ($250 – $120 dining credit) effective annual fee, I can get 4x on dining and groceries on the Amex Gold card. Plus with MR points being much more valuable than TY points, best to go with the Gold card. Then use the Green or Sapphire Reserve for general travel (as well as travel benefits and insurance for flights).
Amex Gold killer?
What are you going to do if countries get divided or merged? Are you going to change your tattoo?
Off subject but I know they say you shouldn't apply for new cards when looking into getting a mortgage but what's your thoughts on business cards since they don't show up on personal credit report (not counting the 3 banks of course )
I am not a fan of Citi Bank and its products.
Can you do a video comparing purchasing an air ticket with cash vs travel portal vs transfer partner. Keep hearing transfer partners give great value but no1 ever gives a direct comparison. Mostly interested in basic domestic flights if u could give an example there.
Good thing we can use that travel bonus before… no wait, travel is shut down. Well, at least it's a no fee card like Propel… nope, wrong again. Well, I guess you can't get 3X on groceries without a fee… oh yeah, AmEx Blue Cash. Boy, I'm just wrong on everything.
I was considering changing my setup over to Citi next year if I didn't see enough value in my Chase setup. I might have to cross Citi off the list now.
The changes are good for me. I'll be using it for gas, dining and groceries when amex blue cash Preferred isn't accepted. This and the Doublecash are in my wallet next to the Chase Freedom, Sapphire Preferred, and Ink Preferred. I'm not too big on the $400+ AF cards yet. Keep up the good work man.
Hey! Can you make a video on how good is a combo the discover it and chase freedom is and other CCs alike!? Nobody has done this!
That 3x on groceries will be big in this new normal. When can we travel again? 2022 if where lucky.
It’s gonna be better than the CSP the premier+ double cash great combo to earn thank you points
hi Waller's Wallet. My citi premier AF just hit my account. Given the current climate, we haven't been using the card that much to justify paying the AF again. I have about 91k TYP in my account. Called citi today and was offered to downgrade to Thankyou Preferred card or Rewards+. So my options are either transfer the points to an airlines partner then cancel or downgrade to thankyou preferred card. Does thankyou preferred card have the same transfer partner and the point to mile transfer ratio as citi premier card? What's your advice on this? (I have several other no AF cards that would earn me 2% cashback. So I wouldn't consider downgrading to Rewards+) Thanks.
