Citi’s Miscalculation Will Hurt Them | My Citi Theory + Q&A – Waller’s Wallet

by YouTube Team

Learn more about reward credit cards:

Citi made a crazy move a few months ago to cut pretty much all fo their credit card benefits, including the Citi Prestige and Citi Premier. I had a theory on what Citi was doing, but American Express strategically adds travel protections, and made Citi look like fools. So, let’s talk about this and I’ll be doing some Q&A

I want better bonuses, lol. Screw the benefits and earning rates.

AMEX with the old okey-doke on CITI. CITI will never be able to compete with Chase and AMEX, they are second tier and they’ll always be second tier. You’d be foolish to book travel with CITI.

I started booking flights with the Gold Business for 4X, but now I'm going to us the Delta Reserve or Bonvoy Brilliant moving forward.

I’ve had the Prestige card since 2015 and I have personally used the trip delay and cancellation benefits 4 or 5 times. I’d rather have the coverage, than the points. Switching to Amex Plat

So, I left Citi completely. I may not use the travel benefits often but want them their. I will move forward with my Travel credit card quintet, and use Chase Sapphire Reserve, My AMEX Plat, or AMEX HH Aspire for travel in the future, AMEX after Jan 1, 2020. I think AMEX hit it out of the park and Citi gambled and has made a mistake but time will tell. My travel rewards hobby is based upon a merging of the Chase Trifecta along with an AMEX trifecta. Highest points coupled with best benefits. Carry on…… Johnny-O

I read Somewhere that even though Citi Double cash is a World Elite Card, It doesnt really qualify for the World Elite Benefits. i.e. Cell Phone Protection. I would research it first before you switch from Uber To Citi Double cash for your Cell Protection.

Hey Dustin! Exciting news, after watching several of your videos and a few others (mainly Sebby, Shifu and Ramy). I just put together a Citi trifecta in 8 days. Double Cash, Rewards+ and Premier.

Apparently Wells Fargo Propel earnings can be combined with Wells Fargo Visa Signature to get 4.5% back if you use it toward airfare. Can you do a video on this new credit card duo????

Question: Can I transfer points from Citi to a partner, then transfer points from Chase to the same partner, and get travel protections from my Chase card? Like if u use Chase to pay for part of the ticket, you are protected? That would be a game changer and a reason I’d get the citi prestige to compliment my chase sapphire
