This tier system allows you to climb up the ranks in credit cards and use them as leverage to benefit from their rewards.
Thanks for the good video, Ben!
I love ben shapiro's new channel.
The spirit airlines card gets you 7% back on crack cocaine and strippers. Belongs in tier two for sure.

Does it make sense to upgrade from tier 2 to tier 3 directly? Not exactly big spender
Just don't get those non-AF airline cards since nearly all ~$100 cards have AF waived for 1st year. Downgrading after a year and you're good to go
I’m very close to that ~650 area so I’m thinking of applying for the CFF or CFU soon. Been banking with Chase for 10+ years now so it’s about time.
Just got approved for the paypal card, $100 SUB and 3% cash back.
Tier 2 cards can be underrated, especially when you’re just starting out or don’t need a huge travel card
So if I want to transfer my points to partners with Chase I have to keep my sapphire card open all the time, correct? What about American express? If I can’t justify my AMEX platinum annual fees any longer and want to close it where should I transfer my points so I can transfer them to partners later?
Good information
What's maddening about the AMEX eco system is the wall between cash back & Membership Rewards. CB is CB, annual fee or no annual fee, period
@ least Citi & Chase have tier 2 cards that have transferability to points for travel.
I suppose Capitol One Venture One might be a way to better things as credit is being built.
AMEX Everyday & Everyday preferred need a serious upgrade & revamping.
Hey Ben! Do you know where I could find an equivalent video for the UK market?
Wells Fargo are horrible, beware. You can't redeem except in exact $25 increments, and you can't redeem for cash unless you also open a Wells Fargo Checking account … which has rules of its own such as $500/month in direct deposits and/or a $500 or greater balance in the checking. When they refused to pay me the checking account sign-up bonus, claiming I had not used some code, that was bye-bye time.
Tier 2 cards can definitely be used as workhorses to earn a bunch of points before you get yourself a tier 3 card. Then you can transfer your points over to that tier 3 card and redeem your points with travel partners to get some crazy value. I catch myself using my Chase Freedom Unlimited almost everyday, so needless to say I’m still a fan of tier 2 cards even though I have some higher tier cards at this point.

The best CC advice channel on YT. Big Ben Rocks! When can we meet Mrs. CreditShifu?
Chime card hasn’t really done much for me
US Bank Cash Plus excels in having Utilities and Internet as optional 5% categories. I also like the US Bank State Farm card that gives 3% back on any insurance payment. If I have US Bank Cash Plus, US Bank State Farm, Discover, Chase Freedom Flex, Citi Custom Cash, Amex Blue Cash Everyday, and Citi Double Cash, I basically get 5% back on almost 80% of my expense always, 3% back on online retail, 3% on insurance, and 2% for anything else that cannot be categorized. If I add BILT Mastercard into the mix, I am getting 1% back on rent as well. All of these are without any annual fee. Tier 2 cards are best if you are responsible, but not rich enough to have fancy vacations here and after.
Gotta love this time of the year
When you doing a video on tier 3?
Great video Ben!!
