I'm hoping they will drop the mask mandate by my mid-November trip, (14-19) but I'm not expecting it.

California has mask mandate when indoors, but not while eating. Not needed outdoors. So it’s the same policy as Las Vegas. Complaining about it is useless. Some states don’t have this mandate, but California and Nevada are huge tourist states.

The robbery thing has to be so the employees don't get "robbed" by their friends.

Not cool at all. The company should bear the burden of risk from the establishments getting robbed.

We always plan a lunch at the Mt Charleston Lodge, done it for at least the last 10 years. Sorry to hear it's burnt down. Good food and wonderful view. Glad to hear their rebuilding. The wife did miss the Christmas shop that closed a few years ago

That wrap at Resorts World looks like it's being fumigated.
Put some graphics on it.

Well that partly explains why the cost of auto insurance is so expensive out here.
Mulberry Street pizzeria used to be my go to pizza in LA during the 90's/early 2000's. It's NY style. A little pricey even back then. The actress Kathy Moriarty used to run the Beverly Hills location on Canon so it was usually good for a celebrity sighting or two if you were into that sort of thing.

There was this brew pub in Albuquerque I used to go to that got shut down because the owner was charging his wait staff $3 an hour to work there and if they didn't have it he'd take it out of their check! They brought a class action law suit and he ended up paying them big bucks. He closed the place down and moved away. Get this, the guy was a millionaire already.

Hey Shawn. At the part where you showed your hotel rates on the screen. What website is that? That’s cool how it shows all the prices for the hotels. Can you share?
👍👍

Shawn and Mark,
I enjoy listening to you every week, as you provide useful info. You guys are also respectful and a class act: you don’t talk over each other or try to be over the top, but at the same time, fun to listen to.
Thanks for what you do and keep up the good work.
Cheers!

A few summers ago I was in Vegas and it was about 113° so I went up to Mount Charleston and it was only 75°. It took me about 40 minutes to get up there.

I was just out there again from 9/12-9/17 and went to Circa for the Monday night football game. General admission was $60 for Stadium Swim now. Not sure if that was due to it being a game night (Ravens vs Raiders) but the costs have slowly crept up from $10 to $20 and now $60 since they’ve opened and I’ve been going. Thanks for the updates guys and great video as usual

I had a different experience at the Crystal Shops last month. My wife and I went to the louis vuitton store and had to wait an hour just to get in. We asked if we could make a reservation to come back later and they said that they were booked with reservations for two days. The stores seem empty, but they aren’t letting just anyone walk into the stores to nose around anymore. Not sure if it’s true with all the stores there, but it seems to be working for louis vuitton. They provided everyone with a personal shopper who was with you the whole time. Never had to work so had to give someone $2500 for a purse!
Love the show! Keep up the great work!

My brother and I were just vacationing in Las Vegas after Labor Day. We wore our masks everywhere, inside and out, and felt fine, it was no inconvenience at all. Most of the time we were indoors, maybe we would have felt differently if we were outdoors in the heat for longer. The only downsides we had were the limited operating hours for many restaurants, and the inability to find and buy a local newspaper anywhere but Walgreens. An employee at Tutto in Bellagio told me they stopped carrying newspapers because of covid, which is ridiculous. There are hundreds of items sold that multiple people touch and put back, including waters, sodas and candy bars. Newspapers are not especially dangerous; I’d say there’s more danger from people that don’t read newspapers. 🙂

MGM’s comp program is strong: I’m already getting more offers for 4 free nights, along with a $100 food credit and $150 in free play, at gold status. My brother, just upgraded to Pearl status, gets offers for 3 free nights at the nicer properties, and 4 nights at the lower-tier hotels. The last offers had to be booked by September 30, so I suspect Mark will start getting offers soon, that will be good through March 2022 but have to be booked by December 31.

This trip cemented my disappointment with Caesars properties. While we stayed at Bellagio and did most of our gambling at MGM properties, our trips to Caesars properties were beyond disappointing and straight-up depressing. The casinos were dark and dirty, with overflowing ashtrays plentiful and cleaners non-existent. The only positive was the Donny Osmond show at Harrah’s, that was a lot of fun. I threw out my Caesars Rewards card when we got home. I’m convinced they will file for bankruptcy again before the end of 2022. A shame, because the rooms at Planet Hollywood and Ballys are nice, and Caesars properties tend to have better low-priced and mid-priced eateries.

We didn’t even bother to visit Resorts World. Maybe next year, after more construction is completed and they’ve had a chance to get things running smoothly.

The energy for NFL opening weekend, and especially the Raiders win on MNF, was electric! Even during hard times, with the drop in conventions and international travel, Las Vegas will make bank on weekends during football season.

When checking your Caesars rates have you tried the "Add companion" option at the upper right of the page if you're not staying alone. My wife and I combined get many more comp night offers than either do on our own.
