Hi Sebby, I'm confused about cancellation waive. We booked a nonrefundable reservations for IHG hotels in the Maldives since beginning of the year because for sure we were going. Does this mean if we cancel, we can get a full refund due to Covid-19? Just wondering if you knew anything about this. Lines are super busy at this time.

I took the time and planning to get a stable ground of no annual fee cards. (Propell, double cash, and BOA rewards)
Thus is business as usual for me.

Hey Sebby, do you know if Chase has any sort of auto deny if you have a Secured card from another company? I remember someone saying that Capital One does that I can't remember. I've had Chase bank for 10 years and never applied they added an offer in the (just for you) credit portion of the app and it shows good approval odds on the Freedom Unlimited. Should I wait till my secured card graduates, or given the current world situation apply now and see what happens? Maybe others might be in a similar situation..

I just got an instant approval for the Barclaycard Aviator Business! This card keeps me under 5/24 and the 75,000 AA miles I'll earn will prepare me for the nice flash deals once all this is settled. I'm an optimist, and confident we WILL get through this. Just stay strong, everyone! It's only a matter of time! 💪💳✈

I'm going to use the recession to get onto the property ladder. I've decreased my credit utilisation a lot more, and started to use my debit card and cash more and am saving my credit cards for the essentials. I'm worried about my BA Amex card, I hope BA doesn't go bust like Flybe and Thomas Cook….

I have the Amex Business Platinum, love it. The problem is, I am earning double the MR points beyond my travel use. I'm considering dropping it before renewal, and picking up the Charles Schwab Platinum for decent cash back from my Gold and BBP cards.

I am somewhere between Group 2-3. Also I may not have any new application for the time being for #1 don't want any extra annual fees, #2 maybe buying a house in the next 4-6 months. I will keep an eye out for airline travel deals when this calms down!! Stay safe in the SF Bay area Sebby!

When you say “Chase, American Express & other big issuers” can you elaborate on other business cards that dont report to personal credit?? I have all 3 chase ink cards & American Express Blue Business Plus card.. i need to move a big balance and all those cards are off the table right now.. i have plans for the blue cash everyday business card but not sure about other business cards beyond that. If anyone could help me out it’d be greatly appreciated!! Thanks Sebby!

As someone who's been well over the 5/24 Chase limit for some time now and is running out of options, I have dreams of some of these credit card companies lifting their rule restrictions a bit. But I realize that's likely just wishful thinking. (A girl can dream though right? lol)

I'm running the same setup, so I'm good turning my points into cashback. After a year, go back to travel focus.

I recently applied for a freedom card and a credit increase on my freedom unlimited at the same time I guess trying to play chase hoping for just the one inquiry on Experian . I got approved for the freedom card and when I called up for the increase they said they would send me something in the mail lol I no that’s never good and so the following day I got an email saying it wasn’t approved.. what are your thoughts Sebby? I no it’s always better to open a new account than ask for an increase but i wanted to try my luck

My current set up. Chase- CSP and Freedom. Amex gold and Hilton aspire. I have a trip to hilton in orlando in May. lets see if that happens SMH. Question i was thinking of upgrading my gold to the plat amex and downgrading my aspire to the free hilton. Trying to justify holding the apsire right just for the status for my trip in May.

Here is my strategy for credit cards:
1. Pay cash for everything
2. Keep all credit card balances at $0
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2
Here is a bonus strategy:
4. No matter what industry you are in, keep minimum 6 – 12 months of expenses (if not more) stashed away just in case of job loss.

Business as usual; the week of 5/24, I was able to get two Chase cards (my first non-cashback cards) at the same time. I might have to adjust for windage for the Ink Cash, since others are reporting that Chase raised the bar for business cards, but aside from that, I'm "gardening" 🌱🌱 anyway until Feb '21 since I'm at 5/24.

Ha, mentioned 5/24 in two different contexts in the same paragraph. 😁
