Hry Ernest, awesome video. Nice break from all these stimulus check and virus videos in youtube. Ive been there once when i was young and cant wait to go back there. Btw it looks like we both can use some haircut soon π
I follow you for credit card stuff, but really like your trip reviews. Your Zion video helped me plan my own trip.
Have you been to Yellowstone National Park? Do you have any other tips for those visiting the park? π
Also, be prepared of "bear" sightings and not "beds". I guess that's what happens when you're editing the video late at night! π€¦π»ββοΈ
Great video. Love the watch for "bed" (bear) warning. π€£ Never been in the park on foot, always flew through it. Got some great photographs from the air. We do enjoy hiking / camping and this video was very well made. Definitely need to put this on the list.
Yea, bison aren't meant to be dealt with. They look very timid but there was one time I was flying overhead in a helicopter (CH-53E) and heard a very loud bang. Thought something happened to the helicopter. Pilot told me to look out on port side and when I did, two Bison were head butting each other. The power of their hits were so great that you could hear it through all the noise and radio chatter on the bird.
Man, you put this video when we can't travel πͺ Great vid though. One of the parks that I really wanted to visit this year. It does stink that you couldn't redeem points for the hotels. A spreadsheet or itinerary document that you can share with us about all the expenses incurred?
Thank you so much for continuing the series!!
Ernest your videos are great credit card or travel videos I donβt care which, You are the best. I will visit these parks when this corona garbage is over!
That was awesome!! Yellowstone is on our bucket list!!! Good tips
Thank you for posting the video! I love it!
Nice video. We did some biking in Yellowstone from Old Faithful. It was great! https://youtu.be/TYNTKmZTrDg
Awesome! Thanks for the information
This video was amazing, We plan on going in August of this year and this helped so much.
We are going in Sept2020. Wondering if any restaurants are open.
Filming all time on honeymoon and crying about missing a meal :/
Wonderful videography and narrative. I liked your suggestions about binoculars and polarize sunglasses. You missed Hayden Valley and the river. Thatβs where weβve seen the most wildlife, especially moose and baby moose, and wolves in the spring.
Bed sighting? π³….ππ
do u wear a mask when your not in a place like a restraunt or cafe or lodge or entering a hotel ? since ur gonna be walking around i wonder if the animals would wear one too hahaha
My first visit to your channel was quite enjoyable! I will look up other of your videos to enjoy them as well.
I first visited Yellowstone nearly 70 years ago! I have lived in Missouri, Arizona, Colorado, and now the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. Not always as close to Yellowstone as I would like, but still close enough for many, many revisits. On this platform, I have seen many Yellowstone videos, from excellent to absolutely terrible. Yours is definitely one of the better ones! You have covered the entire park without it being tedious to the viewer. It is a good all-around guide to what to do and see in the park. Well done! I look forward to watching your other videos.
Our next trip to Yellowstone will be in two weeks. I made the reservations last December, unaware of what was coming in the spring. At first, all National Parks were closed. Then they opened up, but offered limited services. Since we travel with our pup, we always book lodging in the cabins, available at Old Faithful, Lake Yellowstone, Canyon, and Mammoth. At first, they were the only accommodations open. Now, some parts of the hotels have opened, but the food services are limited, and take-out only. We always planned for lunchtime picnics, because of our dog being with us, so that will work out OK. Another disappointment is the closure of all the Visitor Centers. I am mostly interested in the thermal areas, and the Old Faithful Visitor center is a favorite haunt. Now the geyser predictions are posted on a sandwich board outside. Since connectivity in the park, as you noted, is slim to none, my geyser prediction app has been pretty much useless. Also, laundries in the campgrounds and hotels are closed. If you want to do laundry, West Yellowstone, Cooke City (Northeast Entrance) and Gardiner (North Entrance) are your only choices. All but Gardiner are about an hour drive from the Loop Road.
I was glad you made the point about taking care with the wildlife. Some folks think Yellowstone is a petting zoo. It is NOT! I see videos of close, near-disastrous encounters and just have to wonder what people are thinking! Well, obviously they are not. People think that rules mean everyone else, not them. Be that as it may, your warnings were valuable, and I hope well heeded. I also see on the Upper Geyser Basin web cam , many younger visitors (not just kids, but teens and older who should know better) walking off the boardwalks, I guess to prove how brave and fearless they are. I shake my head in wonder. My husband refers to it as Darwinism…..the dregs of the gene pool will eliminate themselves by this kind of behavior.
Sorry for the long post. Thank you again for a well thought out and presented video. One tiny suggestion…..you maybe could speak just a little slower.
Your video is such high quality! I am loyal to this channel.
I liked the video a lot!
I would like for you to have a Yosemite version of this. It would be helpful. Most videos are hiking and drone footage. Have you been there because in one of your other National Park Guides, you compared that park to Yosemite. That's why I think you've been there but is that true?
Good video! We're going in 2 weeks for the first time since 1987. Sad that the visitors centers and ranger programs are shutdown this year but still a lot to see.
I was an employee there in 1980,and '81,and I remember those hot springs, although the shops at canyon look renovated obviously,I worked in the food service area, and I didnt recognize the buffet area.
thank you so much!!!!
Thank you for the video. It help a lot for my assignment about Yellowstone. It is very brief explanations about the itinerary to go to yellowstone. THANK YOU SO MUCH β€
Excellent especially for first time visitors. Well done!
Iβm not a big commenter but I just found your video and Iβve been to Yellowstone 5 times Iβve went in and out of all the entrances still havenβt seen all it has to offer but I have to say for someone looking to go for their first time this is the most informative video Iβve ever seen. Kudos to you sir.
Hi Ernest, it looks like you and your wife chose to drive around Yellowstone. Was there an option to take a park shuttle to the different areas like in Zion? I'm just trying to decide if we should do a class C camper (park and stay put) or do the hotel and car route like you guys did. Thank you!
Wow great video – you must have put quite a lot of work into this. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and ideas of this beautiful park.
Your video is so informative .it helps me a lot when planning our trip there in June. Just 1 quick question, you talkes about the offline map app, would you recommend a good app that you used? Thanks so much
Excellent video! So far the most helpful video Iβve watched. So many helpful tips. Iβll be watching again in preparation for our trip this September.
Ernest! Key Club President and birthday buddy?! I'm planning a trip to Yellowstone and just stumbled upon your video! Small world. Thanks for the tips!
Little do they know there right on top of a volcano…
I want to go right now because it's about to explode due to that there's a super volcano there and that volcano is exploding which means apocalypse
One may download a map to use offline from the Yellowstone app.
Very helpful!
I worked three summers in Yellowstone. 85 at Mammoth, 91 at Old Faithful and 95 at Grant Village. As for Steamboat Geyser, it is unpredictable, although it went off more last summer then any other year. Buffalo are every where as are elk. After awhile I just kinda got jaded by seeing them all the time. You did a good job, I usually tell people they need a full week in the park to see the "best parts". I hiked alone and the most dangerous critter I saw was a Moose. And I know you didn't have a lot of time, but you missed out on Lake. A very nice hotel there. That whole stretch of road from Grant Village to Fishing Bridge is worth the drive. Many people buy bottled water due to the mineral heavy water in Yellowstone. You get used to it after awhile, but for a short visit, it can be hard to drink, unless they have set up stations to filter the water.
Driving in yellowstone with Cruise control is like suicide… I will pass!
Great video but his ππππ
Great site and super videos. We travel a lot and just found your site. Gave you a sub.
Great tips
A nice Tour of Yellowstone National Park. Thanks for sharing your experience . πindeed we just got back recently from a long and exhausted road trip π Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Flying to salt lake City is a wise choice if not in the pandemic π
Well done.
Very helpful to plan a future trip. Thanks for the info!
Maybe the most complete and thorough video Iβve watched on visiting the greatest park on the planet. Iβm headed back in late October and this video made me wish it was tomorrow! Amazing job on creating this video.
We are going in the middle of September this year. Your video is very helpful.
