Caesar is LITERALLY pointing to Flamingo. I really hope they don't sell
Flamingo is historic. Sure hope it doesn’t get torn down. It would be sad to see that piece of history go
House advantage on roulette is 5.3%, but what they mean is people putting in $100 normally leave with $80 on average. So that is after they have played through the $100 over and over with many bets over that "session.." Great video, enjoyed as always hearing about stuff on Vegas!
Air force general's kid bday party…wouldn't be 1st time…they spend our tax money flying over football games all the time! Duh
What is the deal with the water park at Resorts World? The multi-denomination slot machines are counted individually from the single denomination slot machines.
You have house advantage (EV) and hold mixed up.
Switch from an SVSU sweatshirt to a Sparty sweatshirt. Super.
A luxury tower at Caesar’s would be ideal where absinthe is. The fountain views would be in high demand and they could build a permanent venue for absinthe. However the strip lot would be the easiest and probably more financially sound.
Flamingo is part of the link and would be a bad move. I honestly think they should sell the harrah’s building and move the brand to another location.
Trop is charging for parking maybe because people are using the lot to go to football or hockey games and not gaming at the property.
There was one hitch in the Vegas Pro Bowl. All World Running Back Alvin Kamara was arrested on willful injury assault charges, as NFL players continue their poor behavior off the field here in Las Vegas. This is the third incident of an NFL player being arrested in the last 4,5 months here.
Hopefully if Resorts builds it will be asian theme like the whole place was supposed to be. If you've stayed at Lucky Dragon while it was open it was a beautiful hotel and casino.
Or being Zuek, hopefully it's new and Original Design like Cosmo did when they opened.
It would be COOL to live near Nellis air base and see all those planes flying in the area.
Thank you to our hosts Mark and Shawn. Bad idea to jump into fountains. And, as Shawn says, could be some pipes and equipment beneath the water and injury could result.
Always amazed at how well Mark knows L V not living there.
I love this show
Love the Flamingo iconic theme and brand “as is.” Hate to see them “improve” the Flamingo.
If Bally’s really wants to bring more people to the Tropicana they should get rid of their resort fees. Maybe they could also buy the Flamingo or whatever property Ceasars wants to sell . Then you would have two properties on the strip with no resort fees
I love how y’all talk about rumors and nitty gritty in and around Las Vegas
The ending 😂 don’t go all Biden on us now 😂
I like Harrah's! Lol
I’m all for change but leave The Flamingo alone!! I absolutely love this casino from the smell to the old skool lights etc. There are way to many changes going on at the moment from The Mirage to The Tropicana . Very informative and great show again 🇬🇧
I was thinking the new Caesars tower could be built next to the Octavius tower so it’ll attach to the conference center, that would be neat. Then have a small luxury hotel like Nobu built next to the fountains.
We can see a stealth bomber…. Stealth??? casually drops a bomb by mistake????
Always enjoyed playing craps at The flamingo I hope it stays the same just glad the mask mandate just came down and will be out for my trip next month!
Build a new tower at Caesar’s directly on the strip, incorporating the existing sign….Go for broke…individual revolving floors so your view changes through the day! Got to do something bigger and better…it’s Vegas!
Bring back Flamingo Hilton!
Great show as usual!!
If Caesars were to build a new tower, the locations that make the most sense are somewhere out front. Either the Absinthe/Spanish Steps area or over the parking lot where the marquee is located. I think building over the marquee makes the most sense because you could cover the whole building with with LEDs and make it the new marquee. Plus, it would somewhat block the view of the guitar tower.
ResortsWorld has said the next piece of land they will develop is the land next to Circus Circus, but it would make sense to me that the Zouk branded hotel would be next to the Zouk nightclub and Ayu dayclub.
Been to Resorts World, see no reason to return.
Roulette house edge on double 0 wheel is 5.26% on any bet. Red/black or single straight up number it’s 5.26%. Any reported win rate that’s different would be due to variance or cheapened payouts
The open area near Absinthe and Hell’s Kitchen is my favorite place to hang out, smoke cigars and people watch.
Mark, your partner leaves LV on a double all- star weekend to take a cruise.
C'mon man!!!
Am I the only one that thought when Shawn a stealth bomber flying over Chuck E. Cheese dive bomb it?
Have you guys tried the EZ Reach Roulette layout at the El Cortéz? It’s great if you’re e roulette player!
Don't feel bad Mark, I have never seen a barforama or a real big food fight!
Cruise? Details!
growth by debt. China has proven it eventually bankrupts you.
The Pro Bowl has been played on the off week before the SB since 2010
I think the shorter tower in the center of Caesars is really old so maybe they will implode that one and build a new taller tower there. I think I actually heard something like that years ago when they built the last tower.
I was stationed in Hawaii in the late 80s / early 90s. Watched the Pro Bowl live at Aloha Stadium while I was there. I recorded the 1991 Pro Bowl on my VCR. They WERE tackling back then. I hadn't paid attention to the Pro Bowl these last x number of years and was very disappointed with the two-hand touch football that was played last weekend. Total waste of the money I spent on the ticket.
Years ago as I left work at the old LV City Hall I was driving north on LV Blvd. to the Library. The sun had set but the sky was still blue along the western mountains. While driving, I heard a louder-than-normal airplane flying overhead, sounded really low. After a minute it went silent. At the same time, a Stealth Bomber was flying overhead and to the northwest, blacked out the sky and I could see the silhouette. First time to see one of those in real life and it freaked me out!
Blackjack, playing basic strategy and not counting cards, has a house advantage near zero. But their studies have shown that if you buy in at the blackjack table with $1000, you will leave the table with $800, so that's where the 20% number comes from. Same thing with dice table. Same 20%. Yet betting on pass line is only about a 1.2% house advantage. So why do we see 20% number? Because you keep recycling your money over and over in bets. At the end of it, you leave the table with $800. It's not that the dice table has a 20% house advantage. All of this is in the casino's annual investor report. What the customer drops at the table games, and what the casino keeps out of what you bought in with. It also gives slot hold. The report gives the total dollars put in the slot machines, and it gives what the casino kept, typically 5% is what they keep out of all the money cycled through the slots.
RW building another tower seems insane since Crockfords was supposed to be the luxury brand. That company seems to be chasing their tale
We agree with Mark, get rid of Harrahs first. Can’t help but feel gross when you leave that spot…
Great update as usual. Adding my two cents on things. Im not sure about the flamingo sale. Outright. In gaming it makes no sense to allow a competitor to have access to foot traffic that close between your properties. That whole area of harrahs and flamingo is kinda a grind area. Lower limits a little bit slower vibe but still still center strip. Its always busy when i go. Maybe they are lol finally gonna do something about the major floods that flow throw that area when it rains. If you have ever seen the river in their parking garage you get it. As far as Caesars …well its always gonna be Caesars..something pretty good what ever it is I vote for possibly a pool view myself..lastly im not sure about anything at resorts world. Its kinda cool but its kinda the same flash and fizzle. Love to know what the occupancy rate is now…but i still think they are not sure what their target is? younger clubbers? luxury? Shoppers ? Restaurateurs? They are firing atall these markets..not sure who they are successfully hitting…Just sayin
A few commenters have mentioned this, but there is a difference between the house advantage and house hold. House Advantage refers to the statistical advantage for each game on a per bet basis. Craps is the easiest place to understand this, with the 6-8 bet paying $7 for a $6 bet instead of the true odds of $6 for a $5 bet. The difference is 0.46%. House hold on a game is the amount the casino actually kept as a result of all bets made, which barring a major jackpot hit or unusually bad streak for the casino, will always be 10-20 times higher than the House Advantage.
That said, roulette has moved up for a few reasons. 1) The proliferation of triple zero roulette on the Strip, adding 2.4% to the House Advantage. That will add to the bottom line very quickly. 2) The sharp decrease in Baccarat. With Asian tourism virtually non-existent, baccarat has lost a lot of hold and is taking up a lot of space without as much action. 3) The new tourist boom. With roulette easy to understand, and Vegas seeing more new tourists because of lax rules, roulette is the biggest benefactor.
The Flamingo sale rumors are interesting. Caesars doesn’t know what to do with that property, but I think it’s a mistake for them to sell, as it’s so integrated with the Linq promenade. Harrah’s or PH makes more sense, but Harrah’s is likely to get a boost once Hard Rock is established.
