Welcome to MtM #Vegas – Our weekly look at the cool #news and happenings in Sin City.
We got some very exciting news this week with the official announcement that the long stalled #Fontainebleau project is back on. We’ll discuss what that means, who it will compete with and when it is expected to open.
Just down the road we also learned about Wynn Resorts’ 3rd quarter earnings, but the big news was the announcement that their CEO Matt Maddox will be stepping down at the end of January. Find out who is stepping in to lead the company as their 3rd ever CEO and what that means for their brand.
We also dive into Lyft’s announcement of full robotaxi service in Vegas, how PBR is leaving Vegas and then coming back (sort of), whether or not Las Vegas is ruining the Raiders, how a casino allowed someone to gamble $100M in cash over 8 months and got fined for it, plus which recent entertainment act we most want to see.

Yes, I remember when Steve Wynn stepped down. BTW, it was only an “accusation,” but Steve Wynn now answered to a Board of Directors and this was their decision. Very unfortunate what a mere “accusation” can do.
Yes, guys and we remember the LA-Oakland-LA Raiders and some of their “attitude.”
Mark always seems to put a downer on everything Vegas. Always has to be negative. And hasn't got a clue about European Football, not soccer 😁
The entire conversation about Santana and Smooth is so funny because I remember right after I turned 21 (Mid 1990's) and went to Vegas for the first time, every live band that was playing in the casino bars seemed to be playing Smooth. It was a running joke that we all thought in order to play live music in Vegas you had to know that song. Great memories of that trip.
Las Vegas is a good city for professional sports. The Raiders are the issue drafting knuckleheads. Marc Davis needs to get his house in order.
Santana in the 70s, you meant. And any movie with Kate Beckinsale is worth a watch:)
The money laundering tough to happen in Vegas. They are super strict in the HL rooms. Finally the selfless driving is an effect they've been training these cars for over 5 years. I'll be first in line to avoid the chit chat. lol.
Just imagine if the driverless Lyft’s were sponsored by Caesars, you guys would really hate it 🤣🤣🤣
I would've wanted to see the Rolling Stones at Allegiant stadium since this may be their last concert tour with their drummer passing away & the members getting older. Last chance to see a legendary rock band live in person in Vegas.
Canelo is not the Heavyweight Champion by the way! He is super Middleweight!
Action Park was the shit back in the 80’s
The raiders have tarnished Vegas not the other way around. Also the sphere looks like the top of R2-D2s head to me.
A couple of gambling spots in Vegas suspicious how they keep expanding. One of them starts with D and the other starts with R.
Back in 2009 ish you couldn't borrow any $$……………….Did you guys forget Vegas real estate was more /less being given away around this time? Don't think for a second the current bubble couldn't end the same way
I think furniture from the Fontainebleau also went to Whisky Pete's in Primm
There is a reason why Las Vegas has high car insurance rates. It's not so much a Raider problem or pro sports team problem, its a 24/7 city problem where adult beverages at casinos are served 24/7. Top Golf in Las Vegas stays open 1 to 2 hours later than other major cities (Miami, NY, Pittsburgh, Atlanta) which increases the probability of DUI's. Vegas is the place to party and with that comes baggage.
Santana pho sho
No thank you on that slide; with the sun heating that metal, your butt and legs would be in pain for weeks.
Wynn and Encore are both complete resorts as fully envisioned by Steve Wynn. As long as the current management maintains high standards and don’t tinker with what works, they will continue to be among the very best resorts. The Boston resort wasn’t completely done by Steve Wynn, so I’m not surprised it doesn’t measure up to Wynn and Encore. Part of that is the difference between the regulatory structures and political interests between Nevada and Massachusetts.
Las Vegas is not ruining the Raiders, that is ridiculous. The Minnesota Vikings used to have the nickname “DUI-kings” due to the rash of driving under the influence arrests they had for a while, not to mention one player assaulting a meter maid and another abusing their wife and getting off scot-free. I don’t consider Minneapolis to be terrible, it’s a wonderful city. Young men with too much money and alcohol and fast cars are in every major city getting into trouble.
A Robotaxi trying to enter Bellagio past the constant jaywalkers will be a nightmare.
Losing NFR is a big deal. However, Vegas will quickly move on and find new entertainment, sports and other events to take their place.
I think as the sphere goes they are wanting to attract high income people to their hotel and casino. They can offer them discounts on the shows there if they stay and gamble for a few days and if that attracts 100k or so extra wealthier people that gamble a lot more per year that could add up to an extra half a billion dollars of revenue and that is the real way they probably intend on paying for the sphere.
How come every time I am in a Nike outlet store on eastern ave or in the south outlet mall I see one or two metro officers standing at the entrances. I will come back through hours later and they are still there. What is the Sheriff doing? Why are metro officers guarding and help with security for a multi billion dollar corp. I wonder if he is going to get a big donation for his run for Governor.
Miles to Memories of being ripped off in Lost Vegas. Under the new taxi rates , it's going to cost me $60 plus just to get to and from the airport. The cost of food and drinks is outrageous . I paid $ 37.50 for a lousy 2 egg breakfast at Caesars ripoff palace. The cost of drinks at a concert or show is far beyond reasonable , not to mention the cost of the concert !!!!! If I drive to Lost Vegas I have to pay to park , like I have the option of coming in on my private helicopter . A Lousy bottle of water is $ 6 minimum everywhere !!!!!!. My prediction is , the rich Asians are going to stop coming , they now have their own local playground , and Americans can't afford to be constantly ripped off , Lost Vegas will slowly DIE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The self-driving cab from Total Recall was Johnny Cab. Eventually Arnold rips the robot out and starts driving himself. Hard to believe the technology has caught up.
hi guys, love the videos, im really having a hard time believeing that the fountainblue is finally gonna be finished too!!!!! When are they supposed to restart construction? Will you guys keep close tabs on this place when they do? it would be more believeable when you see construction underway at this joint!!!
Santana has led on hes gonna retire so if you wanna see him you gotta go soon. Also better chance maddox runs for gov they runs fountainblu. The screen on outside is gonna be like screen at freemont experence not high enough res to go see through or as detailed as the globe at resort world but still will be cool i forgot who but someone posted a pic of the test rig they setup for it and you could tell by the spacing of the leds they wont be able to pull off what they showed in the concept art as they would need much higher resolution to pull it off
What used to be on the founrainbleu property?
Time to demolish the 'Manor Motor Lodge at Circus Circus. Good Site for a new tower.
How many Golden Knights players have had legal troubles? Inexcusable behavior, cannot be excused by the city in which one plays.
Nah bruh- Mark gets a pass all episode for triggering people after you stated Canelo was a heavyweight champion 😂🤣😂
talk about the silverton
It is not just the Raiders, it the entire corporate culture of the NFL… giving kids millions of dollars who have no real emotional maturity or common sense let alone self control doesn't help the situation. The teams management and ownership needs to really need to have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to their employees off field behavior.
The toxic behavior goes back decades…. it is amplified because they are celebrities.
BUT, this type of behavior is very very common place in Vegas. I believe last month some off duty cops did the same thing in a rented Bentley and someone was killed.
Good show boys!!!!
I'm unsure of the location of these new casinos/resorts being on the North side of the strip. With where Allegiant Stadium and T-Mobile Arena is, I would think it would probably be smartest to really develop the South Strip more than the no-man's land area up there. Will have to be an amazing place in itself to get people to journey there. Vegas already has so much that you can't experience it all in one trip, Fontaineblue+Resorts World are right now like 3rd/4th trip type destinations to me.
Maybe that's an interesting thing to hear of what you two would recommend on what would not only be the "optimal" first-trip itinerary for people that have never been, but then classify other attractions/locations/events as 2nd/3rd/4th/skip completely trip categories?
BTW, does everyone remember the opening scene from “Goldfinger”with the flyover banner reading “Welcome to Miami Beach?” Goldfinger was playing cards on the pool deck. Name that hotel.
