In today’s video, we are going to be talking about everything you need to know about the second stimulus check for Wednesday, July 22nd.
Here is the current news with regards to the full stimulus package that was passed back in March.
- We are seeing an increase in cases related to the pandemic
- Schools debate on reopening for the coming year and new stay at home orders are also in the works.
So where are we with the current situation for the second stimulus package?
Right now Republican and white house leaders are having a ton of internal conflict on a common consensus of what goes in the bill.
It’s tough enough already when you have republicans and democrats going head to head, BUT right now we’re seeing debates within similar political parties as well.
So WHAT are those disagreements exactly???
Even if you are considered “right-wing” there are still many different aspects inside this that you can disagree upon
Here we have republicans to conservative to nationalist.
Ranking the traditional ideologies from one end of the spectrum to the other.
This is for both parties, republicans and democrats alike.
Now what republicans are beefing about are a few things:
- The overall cost of the bill.
- They are looking to keep the size of this next stimulus package within reason. This is an estimate of 1 trillion dollars which is half of what we had passed last time.
- Payroll tax cut.
-
President Trump wants a full repeal of the 15% payroll tax cut which is shared among employers and employees. This alone would cost the government $600 billion.
- The benefit of the payroll tax cut is that workers get to keep more of their paycheck and anyone self-employed pay less taxes on the amount of money you make.
Now the downside?
Well check out this quote by senate republican John Thune
“If it’s a choice between doing checks and payroll tax cut, I think it’s pretty clear the checks actually have a more direct benefit to the economy.”
On the other hand, we have other republican senators argue that
“This doesn’t require any action, it requires less, it requires doing less of something not doing more of something,” said Senator Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota).
Referring to how easy it is to implement this rather than going through hoops of coming to an agreement on stimulus checks and having them successfully disbursed.
- Unemployment benefits.
-
This Friday the $600 unemployment boost is coming to an end.
- The most recent article that we have received is that Republican leaders are looking to extend unemployment to two things. $400 a month or $100 per week or $200 per week.
This would be coming from the $600 per week benefit that Democrats were looking to extend until the next year.
Regardless this is a HUGE decrease in what people were originally receiving and at the moment until anything gets passed. The boost end in two days, so right now its nothing.
- The most recent article that we have received is that Republican leaders are looking to extend unemployment to two things. $400 a month or $100 per week or $200 per week.
Now, here’s the REALLY GOOD NEWS.
Republicans are now in support of a second stimulus check.
Back in May, we had a lot of opposition and it was a unified voice that the republicans argued against a second payment.
Now with increases in cases, and the June Jobs Report showing an uneven recovery it looks like we do have some bipartisan agreement for the second stimulus check.
Yesterday Mitch McConnel officially endorsed the second stimulus check for the first time.
He said “We want another round of direct payments – direct payments to help American families keep driving our national comeback,”
The date on when we should expect additional stimulus is still on August 7th.
Let’s hope that Congress can come to an agreement quickly so we can finally see some additional economic relief from our government leaders.

FOUND YOU (I'm not the only one right? 😅) Thank you so much for the updates Brian, it's really been entertaining and helpful! Keep up the amazing work! ^^
2020 has been a nightmare.
My little sister is a hostess at a restaurant and when she got laid off and applied for unemployment she was making more than me and my husband put together mind you we do have a newborn baby and we didn't receive any Hazard pay and even got our hours reduced because of covid-19 if they get unemployment benefits we should get Hazard pay!!!!
yes the $600 I am still confused, since I work as a substitute teacher if there is no school that means no job. And all online teaching is done my regular teachers. So it took me a while to get the unemployment they rejected saying I did not make enough last year!! to qualify then I send paper work that my ex husband passed away in February so I am not getting any child support or alimony. Frankly first three months I was able to pay rent because of my friends, before I started getting unemployment and I never got my first stimulus check either. Frankly why is the system so screwed, people making $75 K get the money but not someone who makes less than $20k!
What I dont understand is their is a lot of people working "including me" and have not gotten no benefits from the government… no hazardous pay.. nothing and everyday the people are at risk when they go to work while others who are not working have been getting help from the government.

Thanks Brian for your updates…appreciate it.
I hope it comes soon! I'm an essential worker & was off for 2 wks with positive COVID test…Thank God I only had mild symptoms for couple days but its got me WAY behind on bills! Trying to keep my head up & work & just do what I can. 🤷♀️ I filed unemployment & I'm waiting for that too…
I think Republicans are just totally out of touch with the reality of the cost of living for the average middle class citzen.
The CARES Act was not mostly stimulus checks so I'd say half the size of that legislation with majority to stimulus checks would be good.
🤣🤣🤣 when you speak to soon
They are still trying to I agree or want to give us the Unemployment is holding it up

I person ally believe the 600 a week should continue until the next stimulus is sent out. That would make the most sense so people can pay their August rent or any back rent they still owe before going back to work.
Oh and how do you add those small clips in your videos?

Found you!
If you know, you know.
On a serious note, I hope they consider the citizens at the end of the day. People need money if they can't work and the ones who are working may not be making enough to support themselves and/or their family.
Great job on this video…. : ) I think 300 extra a week is more fair…..but personally…I think they should continue with the 600 for a while…people are struggling…the government does work for us…right??!! yeah right…lol….This is an emergency…there should be no vacation time for the government until an agreement to help us is done!
How about giving the people actually working an extra 600 a week. Everyone collecting the extra 600 a week don’t want to go back to work. They are making more then they ever have on unemployment
Lol… you didn’t hear Nancy or Schumer’s press conference. Clearly they wouldn’t pass this.
Yes I agree about the unemployed payments, because a lot of people are not going back to work because the unemployed check's are more than what they get paid for there Job. They need to go back to work.

It’s just a little bit better but still short. The $100 extra I get will go faaaarrrrr in paying my mortgage… 🙄
I don't care about future debt. Some people are about to be homeless. In certain parts of the USA they are not completely opened, others are regressing because of the new COVID cases. Other nations have helped their citizens, while we have been shamed by our own government who put us in shut down, about the need for help. We have children and elderly parents who may be reliant on us. Where is the compassion. Essential workers where dismissed after all the praising in the beginning of this pandemic. Be ready all you selfish Senators, for change in November.
It’s fuckit up the people working don’t get the 600 hundred too work risking there life’s
I really enjoy your videos. Good information you are sharing. Stay safe..
Brian. Something no one has considered that unemployed people have extra expenses for being unemployed. Take for example Cobra costs. I pay $1,000 a month for Cobra as a single person. A family probably pays $1600 or more for Cobra each and every month when not working if they want to keep their health insurance. Factor this in and regular unemployment in most states, paying $500 a week barely get enough to cover health Care premium. So no, $100 or $300 a week isn’t sufficient to keep most people afloat. I wish people would address this so people have a better understanding that other than the lowest paid employees, no one is getting rich and being lazy because of the extra $600 a week that was being paid.
I did not receive the 600.00 stimulus this week so it expired before July 31 OBVIOUSLY
The 600.00 stimulus ended before JULY 31ST
