Episode Description

#Horseshoe continues with its changeover from Bally’s and this week we saw some not so nice changes along with promises of a new marquee. The giant 180 foot tall sign will feature a giant screen and ads right on the Strip. A new Asian restaurant will open in March as well.

In other #news 1987 #Vegas was a different era and one that I fondly remember. It was time right before the building boom of the 1990’s and when Vegas was in transition from the mob era to corporate ownership. We take a look at some of the more interesting parts of 1987, following a vlog that was recently posted. We also discuss new art at Resorts World and Bellagio, AI’s interpretation of a Las Vegan and why Stations is teasing their long defuct Viva project.

Great show, gents. I ran in the half marathon last weekend. It was an incredible experience but I occasionally was lost and consumed in the Strip during the golden hour. In any case, I stopped dead in my tracks at the Bally’s sign on the Strip juxtaposed with the Horseshoe signage on the actual building itself. It’s a great photo. But the whole transition has been clunky. Pretty sure the sign on Flamingo Rd still says Bally’s, too. Any insight as to why they’ve done it this way and changed the signs at a snail’s pace?

First off I love this channel!! I lived in Vegas in the early 90's an loved it!!! Is there a map of strip that shows the changes from the 60s to present day? I remember back in the 90s where Ceasars had one way in to the casino on a moving sidewalk at the southend. You had to walk all the way through the casino on the north end to get out. Unless you walked out at the hotel entrance. Then you were taking your chances that a cab would not run you over and laugh while he did it!!

With all these high end restaurants coming up in Vegas, it's becoming more difficult for the average Joe to afford to dine on the strip. When I got there, I go there for something simple and enjoyable, not to eat glamorous colored plate of food.

Typical of a corporation to put up a cheesey small sign at Horseshoe. I like the billboard signs as long as they don't cover the architecture of the buildings like the one at Planet Hollywood does.
I think VIVA would be a great name for a casino because that word is iconic with Vegas itself. Was unhappy that Viva Elvis didn't go well at Aria. The AI pictures remind me of advertisements of horror films of the
I enjoyed the older videos of Vegasone of them from 1994, which had the radio playing, which had Vegas

Let’s face it, they (corporate) have succeeded in destroying the original vibe of Las Vegas. It has gone from the adult only playground of gambling, sin, great entertainment and a Vegas class to Disneyland with gambling, Times Square advertising, poorer quality entertainment from AGT , top named shows priced out of this world, more fees than I can count to make up for the lack of real gambling, staffing problems, more tourist harassment by vagrants , more crime, food & drink prices through the roof , to much Asian food courts and Chris Angel.
