I've been having nightmares lately with email offers from Marriott! I'm just holding off at the moment because I want to use Marriott for more city/resort locations and lately I've only really traveled to state parks and middle of nowhere type places

It always amazes me how every credit card Youtuber mispronounces "Surpass". The emphasis is on pass: sur-PASS not SUR-pass.

Marriott!!!!!!! Haha, its my first hotel card. Where we travel has more of them than Hyatt's. Once we start traveling more to the west coast i think i'll get the Hyatt card as well. always good to have options!!!! Congrats on the new family addition!!!!

Thanks, great video! Liked and subbed. How do you keep the cards in your graveyard alive without banks canceling them due to inactivity?

Waller, this was the most comprehensive hotel credit card benefits analysis I have come across, especially with all the COVID-19 adjustments. Very well done bro. Of course, I have just about all the cards you've covered, I totally agree with you I have been appreciating Hilton and the Hilton Aspire card a lot more lately. I used Hilton a lot when I lived in Europe but favored Marriott in the US due to habit. I probably going to get another Hilton card and work with them more.

My Hyatt certificate expires January 1, 2021. Baffled as to why this is not extended to December 2021 like the 2020 certificates. Hopefully they review this soon.

Wyndham partial points are especially valuable, easily saving $50 per 3,000 points at resorts. I'm going to Sedona, AZ for 2 nights on Thanksgiving, $220 per night, dropped to $103 + 3K. This might not be fair because I'm grandfathered in (before new Covid Tax), but I'm saving $83 alone just on sales tax.

I have 3 redemption nights for Hilton that stacked up! I got one from the Surpass bonus floating around last year. One from putting 15k on the card in one calendar year and one more from my Aspire renewal. Looking at using them at the Conrad in Koh Samui sometime next year (if covid let's us travel).

The Hilton with no category certificate limit does seem very nice. As much I give crap to the Bonvoy program sometimes with enough work, you can find good off seasons deals, Like the Cat 7 Ritz and St. Regis in Osaka for 50k. And you can beat their huge portfolio around the globe. And converting the Certificates to points is an amazing idea. Although, I would fight for the full 50k value lol

Hyatt offers the best point value for sure. But I’m team Marriott as I like them for all the reasons others folks hate them. You can’t get a useful status from a credit card and I’m totally fine with that. I’m happy they watered down the Gold Status. Too many Amex Platinum customers flooding the gates.

Hilton’s points are the same to me as Delta SkyMiles. It takes far too many to do anything worthwhile. I’ll give them the plus for having the uncapped free night but the downside (pre and post Covid) is your locked into weekend redemptions, #nothanks

My free Hilton Aspire night certificate I just received is good for two years: "Unexpired and new Free Weekend Night Rewards issued through December 31, 2020 can now be used any night of the week (not just on weekends). And new Free Weekend Night Rewards issued from May 1 through December 31, 2020 will now be valid for 24 months (rather than 12 months) from the date of issuance."

So with the Hilton Surpass– you don't get a free night certificate for paying the $95 annual fee? You have to also charge $15,000 each year?

I like the Hyatt card, you can redeem for a room as low as 5K points. You're able to get a room that would cost you $115 to $160 a night. Verse taking $50 in cash for 5K Chase Ultimate Rewards points.
