Just a head's up, the Venetian and Palazzo are redeemable with IGH free night certs on days that they charge less for (so typically Sun-Thur). It's a great redemption, but it's not a realistic option for people who are there to party on weekends or long holidays.

lol “a few hundred bucks” but also used these 2 cards with 700$ annul fee each not counting any other annual fees … without all the annual fees you can just pay out of pocket for the trip 😐 no savings here…

I look at annual fees on credit cards as "pre-buying travel, at a discount."

The annual fees of these cards were justified as "free" or "negligible" by citing those welcome bonus points. So is it fair to claim that these same points also made this trip cheap? You paid full price for the card or the trip, one or the other. Those points can't make both the card and the trip cheap. One had to be an uncovered expense, right?

So did you spend a lot of money paying the annual fee but get a cheap trip? Or did the bonus on the card cover the annual fee by having you pre-pay for an expensive trip?

Think of it like this. If I sold you a card for $100 that gives you $100 in free groceries, does that $100 make the $100 card free AND also give you $100 in free groceries, netting you $100 in free groceries?

Looking forward to seeing videos from your trip and hotel reviews! I really hope you make it to Scottsdale, the Vegas content is so over-saturated on YouTube. Scottsdale content would be a really nice change of pace with new content variety!

Anyone else find it sus that you can NEVER find the same deals as the YouTubers after their video hits? Hmmm. Could be the 69th of October on the most random day of the week, year and century and you can't find a free night or even regular night at the intercontinental properties in Vegas.

Fine hotels and resorts is the key…hotels that not in this category like Holiday Inn or Days Inn do not apply…

Ben!! You need to buy the Go-City 3 day all inclusive Las Vegas pass; if you buy through Rakuten on Groupon, It will cost you in the $170-$180 range; it is so worth it; you get to do all the major activities in Vegas; you even get to ride in a helicopter for about 10 min!! You also can go up to the Eiffel Tower viewing deck, do zip lining, go on that ferries wheel and so much more; I’ve bought it before and couldn’t even do all the things the pass came with; I’d highly recommend taking a look at it!

Great video man! QUESTION: Just to confirm – I have status with American Airlines – but if I purchase tickets through the Chase travel portal – did I understand that I can still get my travel points from American – plus the 5% back on travel from Chase? If that's correct – that would be amazing.

Just stayed at Bellagio last week.
I booked a Premier King room and was upgraded to Fountain View King Room (even room # on the 20th floor). There is an additional charge for upgrading to a suite.
I happened to have MGM Gold and sweet-talked out of paying the resort fee (the resort fee is waived for the gold members if booking directly from the MGM website
It's my first trip to Las Vegas since the pandemic. I don't recall there is a charge, called "Resort Fee Tax". Be aware that Bellagio charges it on top of the resort fee.
FHR's experience credit could apply to all restaurants under MGM including Din Tai Fung in Aria hotel for me.
However, breakfast credit only works for specific restaurants and subjects change from time to time. At least this is what I was told.

The X-pot at Palazzo might be interesting to check out but FHR's experience credit can't be used there.
Have fun and enjoy it!!

Your wife has her own card and isnt just an authorized user right?

Reply
Sunny M February 15, 2022 - 11:04 pm

Be careful! don’t try to stay in the same room & tell Bellagio that your wife is checking in the next day. They could count them together as one stay -.- and give you only one $100 food & beverage credit instead of $100 per booking.
Just do the 4pm late check out for the first night at Bellagio & check in early for the second night. Gives enough time to move bags over to the new room.

Go to Scottsdale. But if not you must spend a night at Aria

arey256 February 16, 2022 - 12:01 am

So how does that work? If you booked a night with your card and one with your wife’s do you have to switch rooms after one night? Or did you have to tell them you guys were in the same party? That’s awesome that you saved so much money. Maybe you should do a tutorial video on it.

Great video I actually used the Amex FHR credit at the Bellagio just last month. The breakfast is actually worth more than you stated as the sadelles restaurant has a more curated experience with higher prices than the buffet but the buffet itself is pretty robust and appeals to surprisingly wide variety of tastes considering the Bellagio luxury image. I hope you guys have a BLAST!

Hey I really need to know something but can’t find out anything about it. Is there such thing as unlimited /black cards for designer brands? If there aren’t, how much do you think one such as, for example, Nike would cost? (Need to know a rough estimate 😂) thanks

I really appreciated this video. I had no idea you could redeem IHG nights at the Venetian and Palazzo. I hadn't used the Fine Hotels credit on my Platinum because I always assumed you needed 2 nights, but this works out even better because we currently have two Platinums so I was able to use my credit on one night at the Conrad Resorts World in Vegas and my husband used his for a second night for a total of $400 off. Our only concern is that I intend to cancel my Platinum before our trip. I've read mixed reports whether I'd still get the FHR benefits. Hoping the $200 credit posts before then too. If anyone has experience with a FHR stay after cancelling your card, please let me know. Thanks again for this, Ben.
