No climbing for me. I'm out of the game.
Question now is the ladder going down or up.
Edit: btw, I would recommend getting the ihg premier instead of the traveler. You can only have 1 at a time so go for the one that has better bonus and benefits!
I always love these videos!
I was at tier 4 for a while with my Amex Platinum but I decided to cancel it last year because it basically become a coupon book for someone who lives in NYC. Lounge access was nice but when you travel with friends and family it's dog shite now. I'm pretty happy being at 3.5 with my Amex gold and love it. It's my driver. I think if they can make some Major changes to the Platinum and be family travel friendly, I'll give it another chance. Eyeballing the Venture X card too.
Can you do a video on how to activate two-player mode without also enabling hard mode? If disabling hard mode while on two player mode not possible, how to enable invincibility cheats?
You lost me at Tier 5. Smart, confident people know credit cards are only good for saving money, protecting yourself, making travel easier, etc., not costing money or used as a silly status symbol. That’s probably why Warren Buffet has been seen swiping an AMEX Green Card while Kim Kardashian flashes an AMEX Centurion.
Amex Green doesn’t exist, confirmed
You've started a movement in this niche with the credit card ladder system. Although the ladder stays pretty consistent every year, I'm happy to see you've added a tier 3.5! Every year you make one of these, it's an automatic click from me. Keep it up Ben!
My strategy is to put spending on the Chase Trifecta (CSR, CFF, CFU) and Citi Custom Cash and go after Tier 3 sign up bonuses. Some of these Tier 3 cards I keep as sock-drawer cards (Alaska Airlines Visa, Marriott Bonvoy Boundless) and others I downgrade after 1 year (United Explorer, Delta SkyMiles Gold).
I've been at tier 4 since 23. I'm 26 now making $200K+/year but I don't see myself ever getting into tier 5 🙁
what page are you in @13:18 ?
Then it's no longer a ladder. Maybe it's more like a treadmill or a path or stairway. Ladders don't add or have middle rungs. I know, doesn't flow as nicely as a ladder. But the term should change and reflect the changing and current credit card landscape.
Oh boy.. a know a dozen YouTubers who can’t wait to copy this next year 😂😂
Been watching your videos since 2016. I always enjoy the How to Climb the Credit Card Ladder videos every year! Keep it up Ben! 😎👍👏
👌
Well, according to my Fico score, my credit score is 823 as it stands I have AMEX platinum card. I have a discover IT card, 2 visa cards and the master-card. Feels nice to have all four cards. however, I’m curious where I should go to my next application. my average credit limit for most of these cards or is about 17 K.
I rotate on these cards depending on which offers the most points or cash back in the things or experiences, I am purchasing.
Great advice Shifu!!
Same video as last year probably
Tier 2.5 for me lol. Team cash back with a few low annual fee cards that give great value and bunch of no annual fee cards.
Can I get the Uber credit from both the Amex Gold and Platinum?
Part of me feels like the only reason you made this video is to own the libs! Oh Ben! Lol
Amazing video. Like usual, perfect timing too. (For me at least)
Well, what's the update?
Win powerball = Climb upto black card
Wouldn't the AMEX green fall under tier 3?
Testimonial: I told myself that i would never purchase a credit card! * Years later i am eating my own words because i finally found the right one Ricchdawg I purchased my own Cards from him 🏧🏧🏧
Let's get this video to a million views
It would definitely be a smaller niche than normal but with more global nomads and ex-pats every year it would be good to see a few trifectas or more simple card setups focused on life outside the USA?
Hey Ben! Your video was entertaining and informative, but you're right about the hair. Yikes! I tried to give you credit for the Max Rewards thing, which seemed pretty cool. Unfortunately, it couldn't log into either my Chase or Citi accounts, and that's 7 cards it wouldn't track, so I deleted the account. I'll give you a like for the video, however. Cheers!
I'm gonna product change my platinum. $700/year is just nuts. I don't see myself getting that kind of value out of it.
“For the YouTube algorithm.”
What tier is the Capital One Venture X considered to be on? I am going to apply for this card in the next couple of months.
Hi Ben, been subscribed to you for a while now I really appreciate all the content you put out as it has taught me so many things that have added value to my life🙏🏽 I’m looking into getting my first business credit card. I’ve been operating a sneaker reseller business throughout 2022 as a sole prop with a EIN. Im in the process of creating an s Corp with a new EIN. If I get a business card with my sole prop EIN, would it be easy for me to change the EIN to the new EIN I receive for my s corp? Thanks again for all you do for the community, all the best!! 🫡
I really enjoy watching the How To Climb The Credit Card Ladder Videos!
I thought the Citi double cash currently has a welcome bonus for a limited time?
Note if you have no FICO score but you do have an old credit report you can be denied for discover it Cashback. Even if report is all positive. Pretty uncommon situation though
Teir 3.5 is definitely a necessary addition and where I think we will start to see more card companies focusing now that we are headed for a recession. Something more along the lines of a "value premium" card. Chase could probably do something on that level between the csp and csr and call it the select.
👍🏽
