Well, at least they're still serving food and drinks at the Lounges. It's funny how most hotels now are still charging you too much but you don't get any of the perks. IE no hot breakfast, I get a grab and go bag containing a bottle of water, an apple, and a Nutri Grain bar.
I just started watching your videos after being on military orders and staying at Marriott for 3 months. I should've known better and got a Bonvoy account before hand. Oh well!

I'm flying this Saturday from Lax to Den. Kinda bummed out won't be able to try the Centurion lounge. Also flying Lax to SJD (cabo) the following week via Alaska so I'll be able to at least check out the Alaska Lounge at LAX.
Side note also super excited to see that Hilton partnered with Resorts World Las Vegas. Can't wait for summer 2021 to try it the new property and put that Diamond status to use there!.
It feel like bad news. IHG is worse news than Marriott because you are losing more relevant properties.
I used to be all into Marriott but the Hilton Aspire card was too tempting. I don’t like Marriott’s redemption rates either.

I went to the my home Centurion Lounge at PHL last Sunday 10/11. I think the staff outnumbered the actual guests, which as someone who frequented it, was both refreshing but also slightly depressing.
Also no peope watching of international arrivals pouring regularly through the catwalk since not much of it is happening at PHL.
In any case, I was very really grateful that the hot bar was still there, even if served by the staff onto an albeit nice cafeteria tray. All drinks including water but except for the espresso machine are at the bar, which are at the narrow end. I imagine that will be a pinch point when more people start coming to the lounge.
I was certainly happy to be back–first time since February!

Wish I could say to my mortgage company, credit card company, etc. … no, not paying. But understand these are business transactions and that's how lots of these partnerships, agreements work.

I have travelled. Went to Nashville TN in September. TSA was extremely easy to get through each way, ie: no wait. Was able to visit many things while being safe as possible. When I arrived, TN mandated a mask in public. Was in street with wife … just her and I, unmarked police car did a U-turn and told us to put on masks. We did but there wasn't anyone fifty feet near us. Talked to pilots, was told lot a less travel and planes are full due to less flights. Yes, both my to and from Nashville was a booked flight.
Planes are full though due to less flights. Daughter flies a lot … twice to Caribbean, Atlanta, twice to Denver, Nebraska, California … a trip every three or so weeks. It's her "work from home". She works but does personal travel.

Marriot gives 5 free nights and shuts down 122 hotels. Covid hit everyone hard. I agree with you- Marriot saw no profit and asking for money right now when no one is making money is ridiculous. Of course, Marriot is going to drop them. Same with IHG.

I've been going to Hilton a lot more the past 2 years before Covid-19, so this doesn't bother me at all.
Now the Centurion lounges reopening is huge! SF and SEA are big for me. I'm looking forward to LAX opening next.
So we just traveled thru CLT and lucky enough to get there the day the Centurion opened on Monday. It wasn't that busy at all, we killed a few hours there and by the time we left it was certainly picking up. The only real differences were Plexiglas at check in, employees serving you and some tables blocked off for distancing. Everything else seemed normal. The drink menu was pretty robust, more so than my experiences in PHX. It was incredibly refreshing to be able to visit one again, all of the employees were also thrilled to be back after talking with a few of them. Hope they open the rest soon! Thanks, Seb!

My last visit to a Centurion lounge was PHL in March before the closure, my wife and I were the only people in there. The Delta lounge at JFK has been busy for the last couple of months while the Turkish lounge at IAD has had about 8 people each time I visited.

Next month I will be looking for a new hotel card. With this new information, which card would be best, IHG, Marriott Bonvey….or should I consider Hilton? I already have the Hyatt card.
