I got the IHG in January, I lost track of spend and i'm $100 short of the bonus spend. Sure hope they extend my time too but if they don't I really only have myself to blame…

I'm a huge supporter of you, Sebastian! I watch every video from start to finish. Love how you added the bloopers at the end, but I also miss the end theme. Keep up the amazing work!

Hey Sebby. Has anyone mentioned about Chase Reserve giving people a $100 statement Credit? They gave me one to offset the increase on the Reserve card this year. Wondering if you knew about it. Thanks

It hit my spend in 30 days. It makes no sense to apply for a card if you didn't have your spend pre-mapped. Do your homework first.

i applied my ink business preferred in mid feb 2020
i called TODAY and absolutely surprised to got put on hold (rather the usual robot msg about no more representatives atm due to this situation) and went through to ask for 3 month extension so now it expires in august
sooooooooo sebby you are wrong?

If chase would extend the 3 month sign up bonus time limit to 6 months for new signups like amex, I would get the sapphire preferred right now.

The Citi Premier is a devaluation if you use AirBnB or Uber. They're pushing millennials away and going more towards families/homeowners with the Citi Premier.

I got my CSR on Feb 21 – 2020. I called-in to see if Chase could extend the date for the Sign-up offer spend. They gave me a 3 week extension and told me that they could extend it even further if I am not able to hit that spending limit.

Great Video, covered lots of info in short period of time!!
Citi Premier: I don't like the changes. It was on my radar after I closed on my house, because of the Gas, Entertainment, and Cruise spending categories. Now 2 out of 3 are gone, so not so much! The $100 hotel credit is worthless, because that's to much spending to get that benefit when I could be using a hotel card and/or pay directly for status. Also FYI, in addition to the EDP, Discover IT (rotating), and Chase Freedom (rotating), the Hilton Surpass gets 6x on gas. It's just only gets you Hilton Honors points though.
IHG: I like that they have extended that sweet offer, I'm just gardening right now (house purchase). The IHG card is on my list though, because Crowne Plaza's are nice, Holiday Inn's are not bad, and I have heard good things about Regent's, Kimpton's, and Intercontinental's.
Sebby, if you let Mandy edit your video's, why don't you let her 'edit' your hair??!?!? 🙂

The American lifetime benefit is interesting for sure but entry tier status for airlines to me is not super helpful. The second level of airlines status is the sweet spot. I don’t have high spend so it really doesn’t matter to me but if I did I’d still think about it. If United did it I’d get a united card for sure as am closeish to lifetime gold.

Citi did the impossible. As long as they're keeping the same annual fee, it's making me consider closing my Amex Gold.

Yeah chase should extend it, I applied 3 weeks ago but now am unsure whether or not ima hit the intro bonus

I'd like to see more on the Citi Premier. That $100 credit would be great for a hotel in Mexico that I stay at which isn't on any booking site. You're welcome for sticking around Sebby. I don't want to miss anything. Good outtakes. A friend of mine is looking for a black market hair stylist.

Citi points being worth only 1cpp on their portal is a downer. I ended up using most of my points on the portal because the transfer partners aren't all that useful for me, or at least not as useful as MR points. I used Citi points on the portal for short haul flights and hotels where they proved to be valuable. This pretty much means I won't use the card for purchases anymore since I can easily get 3% cash back on those same categories. I'll probably churn it again next year when my two years are up, though. Maybe the signup bonus will be higher to compensate.

My wife is an authorized user on my CSR and Amex Gold and business Gold. Do you think this card is worth getting for her as a player 2 or just keep it the same as it is now.

Citi has terrible customer service compared to AMEX and Chase so the new changes are not enticing enough. They have been desperate for new customers I've been getting non-stop balance transfer offers

Gilbert Nicholas April 14, 2020 - 9:28 pm

I think these changes will be the final straw that pushes me to close my Amex Gold It takes too much spending and too much work to get value from that card so next year when all the changes go into effect I'll get the Double Cash card to use for the categories they dropped

Don’t know if they’re rolling it out for everybody, but Chase is offering 3 month extensions for some people who applied for credit cards between Jan 1 and March 31st of 2020. Got an e-mail this morning from them saying I had a total of six months to hit the spend limit for the card I applied for on March 10th, automatic, no further action required. Maybe they saw your video? 😜

I was thinking about downgrading my Wyndham platinum to a regular wyndham..paying that $79 can go to that Hyatt card. I only got that Wyndham for the status match to Caesars Diamond. I believe there are many other ways to get Wyndham Diamond right? By the way, I just approved for the new IHG card…now i got both

Hey Sebby! I am currently a student, but I work full time as well and have a steady income. I have had the discover it secured for around 7 months. I do most of my banking through Chase (checking, savings, investing) and recently prequalified for a CFU, CF, CSP. I want to apply for the CF, but I also want to heed your advice of waiting a year for chase cards. Is the pre-qual viable reason to go ahead and apply early?

Data point:

It appears Chase is considering those who signed up for cards in January. Got an email from Chase this morning extending the sign up bonus period by 3 months for the IHG Premier card. I applied in January right after the huge 140k bonus offer was announced.
