I'm out of the credit card game.
My favorite hotel card 🏆
Yes worth it. Basically spending $350 for a night at hotels that can retail over $1000+. If you like staying at nicer properties and don't mind switching hotels then you can get tremendous value from the card
If you’re a Marriott loyalist then this card comes with an immense amount of perks. For someone like me who hasn’t pledged any loyalty to one chain in particular, this card doesn’t make as much sense in my opinion. That’s a hefty annual fee for a hotel card!! Thanks for the video Ben!
All I want is to take advantage of being below 5/24 and then I want the Wells Fargo Autograph, Citi Custom Cash and then maybe the Venture X so I can take my parents off my AMEX Platinum and make them authorized users on my Venture X so I can save $175 and they will still get some good lounge access.
Good breakdown. I’m torn over this one. You do make a profit if you use it correctly. On the other hand, there’s a lot of overlap between Marriott high end hotels and FHR. The free night has value, and the Platinum status is great, but it seems like most of the benefits of that status already come with FHR at high end hotels.
I have the Hilton Aspire and the Amex Platinum, would it make sense to downgrade the aspire, and pick up the brilliant as a long-term keeper card. I'm impartial between Hilton and Marriott but assuming I downgrade the Hilton, I will still have gold status(free breakfast), but I will be upgrading to platinum elite with Marriott. So my question is whether keeping Hilton Diamond and Marriot gold is a better combination than Marriott Platinum elite and Hilton Gold? I stay at both hotels evenly, really depends on which hotel is the better deal at a given location.
I just wanna say that every time you mention grand cayman it cracks me up. Never stop
Worst card ever.
The only major advantage Marriott has with this card over Hilton Aspire is that you can transfer both Amex and Chase points to your account. Otherwise the Hilton Aspire is a much better card.
Any idea why some hotels never seem to offer "pay with points"? Really degrades the usefulness and applicability of a card like this if the earned points cannot be used at your favorite properties.
Recent updates on that card made it a not so good option for many. To many great hotel cards to be stuck with that one. The card was better last year before they raised the annual fee and changed the $300 credit. Not worth the $650 in my opinion. To top it off the 2 new Marriott cards are trash😂. They are trying hard to lose CC costumers.
“110 thousand of debatable value.”
Is Marriott platinum elite equivalent to Hilton Diamond, or is it worse from experience?
I noticed that Hilton Diamond isn't particularly useful in the US, but works well in Asia, but I haven't found Marriot Gold to be useful, so I was wondering if Platinum Elite is a significant leg up compared to gold or if it will just be watered down with this new card.
Hoping I'm preapproved for the 110K value version!
I recouped the AF with the $750 bed credit…… 😎🤣🤣 It may make sense for some BONVOYED loyalists – but I'll pass. Thanks for the info + video.
I got a question, I already applied Marriott boneless 6 months ago, i am still can be apply this card and get bonus?
Hey Ben. What's the name and artis of the song you used in this video??
change the break song bro it's werid and annnoying.
$110,000-$650 for first year. Pretty decent deal. Over 167 years before breaking even!
I got the card when it changed to make it easier to maintain Platinum until I get the last few years needed to lock in lifetime Platinum. I've already received $50 back in dining credits the first two months, and I see no difficulty in getting the full $300. I will easily get more than $350 value from the 85K night. For me, it is a good deal, but it isn't for everyone.
Got the Bevy (a good deal for the first year) then saw this and called and asked if I could switch, they said not in the first year. Applied for this and (of course) it said I wouldn't be eligible for the signup bonus. Considering canceling the Bevy and then re-applying for this and seeing if I would then be able to get the bonus but it seems doubtful.
The Hilton Aspire is still the best Hotel Credit Card.
Don't get bonvoyed guys.
