I got this message from chase about the freedom unlimited:

Your Chase Freedom Unlimited® card now comes with a new restaurant delivery benefit. As a cardmember, you can get a complimentary 3 months of DashPass, DoorDash's subscription service that provides unlimited deliveries for a $0 delivery fee on DoorDash orders over $12 (other fees may apply). After that, you're automatically enrolled in DashPass at 50% off for the next 9 months.*

Activate this offer with your Freedom Unlimited® card by December 31, 2021. For accounts with more than one cardmember, the subscription will be registered under the name of whoever activates the benefit first.

no longer interested as the new benefits have no value for me, and not offset the increase… bye bye CSR.

And still no gold membership at a normal hotel chain!

I think the CSP is a very reasonable downgrade option. I don't know if I want to give up the CSR yet, but I'm definitely considering it.

So my annual fee is due on 4/1… do I get charged the 450 or 550?

Just cancelled mine, bitter sweet. I will have to rely on Wells Fargo Propel for traveling and eating out.

I think I will downgrade or cancel at renewal. This card was a benefit for me but at the limit if doing so. The rate change is a dealbreaker.

This was timely. I recently decided I would close this account because I wasn't getting the value based on my location and purchasing habits. The fee is just that much more compelling. As a non-coastal city user the benefits just aren't there IMO.

My renewal date is November but the annual fee doesn’t get charged till may every year, so when I get charged in May will it be 450 or 550? Also if I decide to downgrade the card I have a ton of points on it, is my best use of them in that scenario to transfer them out to Hyatt before the downgrade?

Can I downgrade to the Preferred and still keep the points that I have. I don't use any of the additional benefits that are mentioned and it would be a waste of $100 for me.

Quick question. So I opened a reserve card. But a few days later I got a 80k offer for the Preferred card. So I'm going to cancel the reserve card since I haven't used it or even gotten it. And I will take the promotion with the preferred card. My question is can I upgrade next year and use the 80k points at the 1.5 cent rate of the reserve? (Plus any points I accumulate throughout the following year) It may be a dumb question but I just want to be sure haha

Everytime you say hello, it makes me think of Sheldon from Big Bang Theory saying, “Welcome to fun with flags!” 😂

I use Lyft quite a lot and was wondering if you or anyone can help me with this mental math. During the time that you still have the $300 travel voucher, would it make more sense to use a chase freedom card (earns 5x) for Lyft rides rather than the travel voucher? I'm thinking since using Lyft gives you 10x your travel voucher would have more power using it on a flight/hotel.

Even with the added benefits, is the chase reserve worth it considering it’s still going to be $450 this year. I will not travel this year but I do eat at restaurants a lot.

@Ask Sebby …You may want to pin this info or add as an update in the description. Reviewing my August statement there was a notice that my annual fee would be billed on 1 Oct, for 450$. I called thinking it was a typo. After talking to a Chase representative, they verified it to be correct. Due to Corona virus, they are delaying the annual fee increase until next year or possibly later.
