A bombshell sale happened in Vegas as Caesars Entertainment spinoff REIT Vici Properties is dropping $17 billion to buy MGM Resorts spinoff MGM Growth Properties. The land beneath a ton of Vegas casinos will now be owned by a REIT while management will be spread out. Crazy times.
Speaking of crazy, someone climbed Aria without any safety equipment to protest the mask mandate. We also learned this week that the October 1 shooting memorial on the site of the Route 91 Festival is moving forward with MGM donating 2 acres for the project.
In other news Draft Kings has made a big purchase from Golden Nugget, Resorts World is already discounting their rooms 50% for many members and Main Street Station has announced a reopening date. It is the first closed casino to reopen in Vegas for awhile. Good news for sure.

In my view, Resorts World complex is nothing at all remarkable. Perhaps, it is the ultimate corporate evolution of Las Vegas. This is so very sad, and some kind of decline.
Also, MGM is unloading a significant amount of their art holdings in Las Vegas. Estimated to be valued at approximately $100-million dollars- in an action and a partnership
with Sotheby’s. Is MGM desperate for cash? Maybe they just want to leave town. If that is the case, good-bye, I was never a big fan of the way they did business.
Circa is nice but still similar to corporate greed…charging to go look at pool area and high cost for parking.
The climber will be charged with vagrancy, aka "having no visible means of support."
Thanks again for the updates as usual guys. Definitely working on making it for the meetup/social in Sept. Great reason to get back out and scratch that Vegas itch.
A few years ago, Steve Wynn comissioned some Vegas and Broadway professionals to perform his favorite showtunes for his wife's birthday party. He enjoyed it so much that he turned it into a full-blown show ("Showstoppers") and put it in his showroom.
That's the kind of "personal touch" you don't get (outside of Circa) when all the casinos are run by corporate boards which empowers its managers to save 25 cents per drink by giving you a short pour.
The prices will go up when the brits are allowed back!! The prices are coming down for next year slowly and back to normal. Roll on for international travel again 🇬🇧
I stayed at resort world 2 weeks ago. Good food, beautiful pool, spacious gambling area, and good service. I enjoyed staying there.
I agree with Mark! Cesar’s and all corporate casinos .. lease your land to get another revenue stream? Fine. BUT DO NOT FLEECE YOUR CLIENTELE! .. We the consumer can feel the watered down version or shrink economy LV experience.. or else I vote with my wallet. And I will take my business else wear, note to all casinos! &Props to MGM for memorial! ..
I just saw Mark on NBC LA news.
Would love details on the Sept 18th meetup and I'm looking for a reasonably priced hotel for that night (any chance of moving it to Sunday the 19th?).
This is why these "shows" suck, stop with the chit chat and get to the facts quickly. I'm not wasting 30 mins on this
"Attention KMart shoppers: Resorts World rooms now 50% off!"
I wish you two would quit bullshitting and get to your headlines!
I want Telly Savalis’s Vegas Back…Baby 👍
I’m thinking the selling of the land with renting it back is a short term move. I’m thinking they will have the ability to purchase the land back at a later date. Could be wrong but no one wants to own the buildings and business when someone else owns the land beneath it?
Went to Resorts World one week ago. Just got an offer for discounted rooms, $50 credit in food, and $25 in freeplay. Or they say that they will match or beat any offer I receive from another strip casino. The offer I had last trip was 5 free nights free at Aria Tower Suite, $1950 in freeplay, and $700 food credit. Tempted to see if they will match that, but I’m not sold on the north side of the strip yet.
Triple 7 Restaurant and Microbrewery @ Main Street Hotel….w00 h00!!!!!
Really glad to hear Resorts World is struggling. That is the biggest REPLICA CASINO I have ever seen in my life. Over 30 FAKE Blackjack tables in Resorts World. Pathetic Corporate Trash, and that's simply the truth. Nothing but fake 6/5 blackjack and continuous shuffle machines. In fact, that corner of the Strip has the 3 most unplayable casinos I have ever even seen in the United States. Circus Circus, Sahara, and Resorts World. Exactly zero authentic 3/2 blackjack tables. Disgusting.
Busted for being not good.
GAUNTONAMO BAY, ENJOY HELL.
