So on AMEX's site I got the 100k platinum offer. Its really tempting. But I already opened the CFU and I kinda want to garden till I get 2 chase 5/24 slots back in September. I also want to upgrade to the CSR from the CSP sometime next year. Decisions, Decisions…
Thank you for your videos! My mom just got approved for the AMEX cash preferred. Great deal. You are awesome as always.
Besides the pandemic, my 2020 is good. Glad to be staying healthy and employed. Bought a new car (BMW X3), opened up 8 cards and racked up nearly 1 million points, and just like you, I like searching for hotels and flights (mostly Hong Kong and Japan) for the future to give me something to look forward to.
Hi Sebby. Did you purchase LifeLock with Rakuten? How long did it take for you to see your points on the site? I don't see mine and it has been 4 days.
If I get this Amex BCP card could I use it for membership reward points instead of cash?
Redemptions, bank/savings bonuses, SUB and ending reminders, analysis and math, it's all great because you bring that extra insight that we all really appreciate. I'm not sure if this was intentional but in the Southwest companion pass video you didn't mention if we can do both business and personal. Even if the answer is no I think that would have been great to mention. Cheers
I want to see and learn everything I can. Bring on all the info I say!
I like all your content including the travel.
I would like to hear more about transfer partners to chase updated video would be nice. In talking about which transfer partner is the best for hotels which one is the best for flying
I'd prefer the travel vlogs go on your separate channel.
Im using amex points transferring to Singapore airlines for my next trip, someday I'll be able to viait Japan again.
I am a fan of both the meticulous card analysis and the vlogs. I am more likely to rewatch the vlogs as references, as I plan my own trips, than I am to rewatch card videos where the information may not be up to date. (Happy to watch the vlogs on any of your or Mandy's channels).
Hi
What did you say about master cards and mortgage payments? 🙏
Travel Plans for 2020/2021 stinks, I was suppose to take a cruise from Japan to Vancouver, and next year Montreal to Ft Lauderdale. Should be finished optimizing my credit card strategy by next year, and transitioning from Marriott/Best Western to Hilton/Hyatt.
How to use points would be super helpful, I’m looking to transfer UR points for a trip to Japan in fall 2021
I'm really interested in topics about redeeming points. For instance, I can figure out how to use points for airfare, but I haven't figured out how to see if paying case for a coach ticket then using points to upgrade to business or first class works. I mean, I know literally how it works, but I don't know how to figure out who many points the upgrade costs.
Datapoint for IHG: Called and was able to push back a December certificate to June 2021
Hi sebby so where can we find video of your trip etc? You have a website of Vlog?
Can you have both IHG travel and primere?
I like the math and the conversation. I usually listen while driving and not watching. So less graphics and more speaking works for me.
Sebby, I'm traveling overseas within the UAE area and possibly staying in a Marriott chain hotel for quite sometime. I was thinking about applying for a Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant AMEX card. Do you know everything I charge on the card in UAE will qualify for Bonvoy points? I was thinking about the AMEX Platinum card but it states we only get cash back on US based stores. Any advice? Thanks
Hey Sebby, from your experience, does AmEx charge you the annual fee the first month of card membership? I just got their gold card and was charged the fee upfront. I had thought they charged the fee towards the end of the 12 month period and not the first month. Thanks for any info
As soon as Canada opens it’s borders I’ll apply for the Amex platinum. 2020 hasn’t been great. Work hours reduced, broke my wrist and had surgery.
Hey Sebby! Not sure if you're planning to do an update video on airline fee credits since we're approaching the end of the year but wanted to share an experience of mine recently. I flew American Airlines and bought wifi and the interface mentioned Gogo but said everything was transitioning to AA Wifi. On my American Express credit card statement it was listed as "AA Wifi" and my airline credit was reimbursed by American Express. I saw more info on American Airlines bringing everything in house here: https://paxex.aero/2020/07/american-airlines-inflight-wifi-portal-launch/. I hope this helps!
I think a vlog series that compares redemptions could be great. For example, comparing Hyatt properties of various redemption values in the same city could be very informative. You could even have a point scale for location, amenities, comfort, and value.
Travel and redemption would be nice to add
Seb, need the math AND travel redemptions!!!!🤟🤟
Oddly enough, they declined me for the BCP because I didn’t have a high enough credit limit (I have $10K) and not enough cards (I have 5). Odd imo
can't wait to travel next year and use my hotel points
When does the platinum offer end?
I took advantage of the $350 intro bonus on the Blue Cash Everyday after just $1000 spend at Amazon in 6 months. Amazing deal, and 3% back at grocery stores going forward. Hopefully you all didn't miss that
Can you get the blue cash preferred if you already have a blue cash everyday?
You should start a new channel with vlogs. I'd definitely watch
We are planning a family trip for summer 2021! Thank you, this might tip us over to geting the IHG card. Looking forward to learning more on how to use points.
Hey Sebby, got a 50k retention offer for my Amex platinum. Thanks for your advice.
But doesn’t the annual fee hit on the anniversary? Meaning 30 days later you have already paid it- or at least posted on your statement?
I would like to see you do video on good way to use Chase points 😀
Yes! I’m planing my first international trip next year and I would really love tips from you. As in, what a good deal for flying business would be, when to purchase tickets, considerations to take due to covid, etc. I’m working with UR points. I’ve been binge watching your videos to get a better idea but I’d really appreciate more of that content.
Definitely want video(s) on best way to redeem. The way things change all the time, I think this would be most helpful, to me anyway. Work to get points, FN's, etc.; it'd be nice to know the best way to use them.
