LA County Mandatory Quarantine: Here’s Everything You Should Know

by YouTube Team

If you are planning to visit LA County you have to mandatory quarantine for 10 days. The quarantine applies to anyone coming to Los Angeles for leisure and non-essential business who are staying overnight.

You don’t have to quarantine if you’re visiting for the day.

LA County residents are also subject to the mandatory quarantine if they leave Los Angeles and Southern California to travel to another state, another country, and Northern California.

If you leave Southern California and return to Los Angeles you are required to quarantine for 10 days.

You don’t have to quarantine if you are a licensed health care professional, government worker, play for a professional or college sports teams, work in film and media production, or are taking care of someone in the area.

The mandatory quarantine for LA applies to anyone traveling into the area from outside of these Southern California counties:

Los Angeles
Orange
Riverside
San Bernardino
San Diego
San Luis Obispo
Santa Barbara
Ventura County
El Centro
Inyo
Mono

Whether you fly, drive, arrive by bus or train, or parachute into Los Angeles, you have to quarantine.

Travelers age 16 or older flying into LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) or Van Nuys Airport are required to complete an online form prior to arrival or upon arrival.

The also applies if you arrive at Union Station.

Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to $500.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health defines quarantining as staying at home or at a temporary shelter such as a hotel or Airbnb and staying away from others including household members for 10 days.

Your quarantine can end after 10 days IF you haven’t experienced any COVID-19 symptoms. The County recommends you continue to monitor for symptoms for 14 days after you get to LA.

This sounds capital R word stuff. Stay at an air bnb for 10 days, but stay away from all members staying with you. Yeah okay.

I'm in Texas, I want to travel to Kern County. LAX has cheaper flights than BFL. I don't have time to get a test result before a flight. I don't plan on staying in LA county. I want to return 4 days later to Texas. Would the quarantine aplly and would this be allowed? Does LAX ask for quarantine proof?
