I’m a simple man. I see Shifu, I click.
Hi Credit Shifu….Nice video
Appreciate the video Ben!!! Been considering the explorer card for awhile now, and just might get it
Remember Shifu, 8 minute videos with 4 ads. I want to see this next time
Thanks for this! Would have missed the cut off date without your reminder. 👍🏻
Waiting for the Chase Aeroplan card/cards.
Do we know what the bonus’s are going to change to? Last time I jumped on an expiring bonus it was the 80k sapphire bonus then a week later it went up to 100k 😅
10/24 atm with a good score however and no Chase cards as of yet .😐
The business United card should not count towards 5/24. Am I not correct?
These are much better than American Airlines credit cars, but Im not a resident and I can't apply for any Chase credit cards
Man the music is frustrating when trying to actually comprehend what you are saying. I don't see why it is no necessary to add meaningless music over every voiceover.
I did a dummy booking and they offered $250 statement credit and 35k bonus miles after spending $2,000 for the Explorer. Would this be a better deal? Seems like if we value each mile at 1cent pp, it would be the same?
I'm over 5/24 so I guess I'll just watch your video and cry a little inside :')
The TWO free bags is the secret sauce to the Quest card, but it doesn’t make much sense to hold the card if you don’t fly them at least once a year. Working on maxing out the 100k offer since I’m close to the 5/24 limit. Just hoping for a decent Hyatt card offer to come up.
I think you're vastly overlooking how great the Quest card is.
If you book 2 one way award travel flights (1 full trip) you'll be refunded 10K miles. That's over $125 in value.
Then you get the straight $125 statement credit towards any United purchase. Those 2 credits alone pay the card's annual fee.
So this card is better than the Explorer if you're just chasing sign up bonuses.
Then you get 2 free checked bags per flight, unlike the 1 free bag of the Explorer.
Finally, if you wanted to make this card your workhorse spender, 3,000 PQP is enough to qualify for silver elite status just on credit card spend. More crucially, it can go a long way towards moving someone from silver to gold or gold to platinum or plat to 1k.
I'd argue there isn't really any reason to have an airline branded card with an annual fee unless you were committed to that airline for a significant amount of your air travel.
The 3x back on United purchases, 2x back on all dining and ALL other travel (Explorer only gives 2x back on hotel booked directly thru the hotel), plus the fact this card gives you all the perks most travel cards offer (rental car coverage, no foreign transaction fee, travel insurance, global entry, warranty extensions, etc) make this card a pretty good option as your main spending/travel card, ESPECIALLY if you're a somewhat frequent United flyer and concerned at all about chasing status.
Finally, I'd like to point out that the "points per dollar" on the signup bonus, you're overlooking the points the card actually gives you for each dollar you're spending. 3-4x points per dollar spent for the higher tier of the signup bonus may not be as good as other cards you could also be using, but if you add in the points you're getting already, it becomes more attractive. Let's say you spend half of that extra 5k over 6 months on dining or travel and the other half on non category spend. That's an additional 1.5x per dollar, which suddenly makes it as compelling or more compelling than almost any other card.
i hate flying united
The more I travel with United the more I like them, plus their points have some actual value! Great video sir!
I just applied yesterday and am still I'm the review process will I get this offer or something new
This is crazy that for $95 annual fee you get the two complementary passes for the lounge but when you go up to the card $250 annual fee you don’t get the lounge passes. I don’t get it, disappointing
