We have now learned that #Luxor is renovating their Pyramid Tower rooms which should hopefully end rumors of its demolishment. Plus after tons of rumors about its future, a full redevelopment plan has been announced for #Rio Las Vegas. It will include multiple Hyatt hotels and a full renovation. What should you expect with the redeveloped Rio and will it be high quality?

What do you think about these renovations? Would you stay at Rio after it is converted to a Hyatt and do those Pyramid rooms look good enough to draw you in?
These new rooms have no character anymore. Everything all looks the same and could be anywhere. What made the Luxor was all the little details, such as the mild egyptian motif of the furnishings.
I've stayed in some very nice Luxor suites. The baths were beautiful as was the bed. The furniture just needed to be updated. Sofas and chairs were worn. Dining table was okay as was the bar and fridge. That was just a few years ago.
Needs to be mentioned; If you are not a club member your wait for check in is hours. It's a joke how long the line can be.
Oh, shit…thanks for the over -the-balcony shot from Luxor! I have very severe height anxiety and I would NEVER be able to walk down that corridor to my room, if I was staying there. Freak-out time!!!

Luxor is going to have a resurgence when Allegiant stadium gets going. It’s a short walk across the bridge
Maybe I missed this but will Rio no longer be a Caesar’s property?
Thanks for the info. We prefer to stay off strip and use our Caesars points so we’re a bit bummed but it’ll be a good change.
Nice to hear both the Luxor and Bellagio are being refurbished – even higher end properties need to be redone from time to time to take care of things like missing slats on vents, dinged and scraped furniture, etc.
If they nuke anything they should nuke Excalibur

Thanks for the update. I think I will cancel my stay at the Rio. If the Luxor updates, I will book my room there.
We are staying here now at the Rio. Service is terrible here and we can't get anyone to clean the room. Yesterday and today when we left the room they were cleaning the room across from us and I mentioned we were leaving and they still didn't clean it. Couldn't sleep Saturday and Sunday night because of all the noise in the hallway with people yelling and screaming even at 3am. Buffet is closed permanently. DON'T STAY HERE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING IGNORED.
To add insult to injury last night at 1am we are awakened to the sound of construction work. Very loud construction work. 1am!! I could hear walkie talkies so I figure it's a maintenance crew so I bag on the wall, very loudly and it stops. About 5 minutes later the phone is blaring away and it's the hotel apologizing and telling me they have an emergency repair. She offers to give us an extended stay until 3pm but I tell her it doesn't do us any good because we planned on leaving at 7-8am. So she offers to wave resort fees for 2 nights so I say that's fair and that's that. However if I would have known they were going to get louder and add loud talking and they were going to be there until 8am I wouldn't have settled so easily. Lol. What a lousy vacation. But we did get to smell Marijuana every where we went day and night, even in the room.
Remember staying at Luxor in late 90s when it was a top tier resort now it’s lucky to be a mid tier sad
