Small changes, and the CSP gets interesting all of a sudden.

Seems like a good deal overall:
– 5x on airfare through Chase travel portal.
– 10x on hotels & rental cars through Chase travel portal.
– Keep 3x on dinning.
– Still the best travel insurance for credit cards.
– No annual fee increase.

I think its still underwhelming particular the online grocery, like really Chase! Chase really don't want their cards seem as a permanent grocery cards which I think would benefit them long run as thats the category most people easily spend the most on daily. Like Amex Gold/BCP, CapOne Savor One, and even the new Citi's Custom Card blow away Chase in this category. They've could at least limit grocery spending with up to $6k or $12k. and boost travel 2 to 3 points, that would made CSP very competitive.

I feel like the New CSP paired with the AMEX platinum is a solid combo. What do you think?

Got rid of CSR for a Freedom after 48 months from last bonus and using up the 300 travel credit and $60 DoorDash. Picked up a new CSP for the 100k bonus again …

If they made csr 4x on dining and 4x on travel it would be hands down the best card on the market. These changes are pretty meh in my opinion. I honestly believe the csp is the overall better card for most people.

That grocery category😂. I guess it's better than nothing. Thanks for the update man. I only watched your video on the updates. Take care and keep moving forward!

Preferred is still a card you dump after the first year. Good job Chase.

Considering getting the Amex Aspire next year and I only travel once a year, thinking on sticking with my CSP for the CDW or just downgrade it to a CFU

I feel that while Chase may not have outside competition to validate an update to the CSR, the changes to the CSP do

I literally JUST got my CSP card in the mail today. I signed up for it about a day before the rumors about the upgrades came out. I was really looking forward to getting it, but it sorta feels bad now, I'm stuck with the "old" one for nearly an entire year… I guess I should just focus on that sweet welcome bonus, which was the main reason I got it in the first place.

The only thing I am confused by is how you only have 18k subscribers… Your videos are always solid! Thank you Dustin!

Amex should have expected their competition to respond, with the potential of doing little to nothing at all. Sometime is wrong if you have to increase the signup bonus to show your investors how popular the new card is, and competition copying is a threat. Citi seems like they wanted out of all this madness, we'll see if Capital One steps into the ring.

The CSP changes are nice. Currently the only real benefits of the CSP are the travel protections and transfer partners. So getting 5x on travel booked through the portal means you get the increased points in a way you can use those protections. And the $50 hotel credit arguably makes this card a $49 effective annual fee. The other multipliers aren't overly exciting, but they're something.

I agree with you about the CSR, it's probably the best long term premium credit card for me before these changes, so they didn't need to do anything to become the best when they are already there. So while I would have liked more changes, it's not like it would have changed my strategy.

Awesome!👍🏼 My yearly fee is due in October. Can I use the 50 dollar credit before October then again after?

Can any Chase folks help me answer this? If I have the CSP and want to switch to the CSR, how can I do this and get the CSR bonus? Downgrade to regular CS then apply to CSR? If so, how long would I have to wait to be eligible for bonus? Thanks!
