Uuuuggghhhhhg!!!
GTFO!
🤍 can always count on you guys for the latest.
lots of love
After 20 years of visiting Vegas from SoCal I will be flying for the first time this year. Yes, booking in advance seems to be required for a cheaper flight, though I will not be visiting over weekends (never have) or during big conventions. Flight in February is $103, Flight in April would have been $116 but my friend upgraded us, and flight in May is $133, all 3 flights from LAX and on Delta that allows 2 carryon bags, so no extra fees. Gas on trips was costing me $250 -$300 anyways driving from Orange County. Nice work guys!!
The security robot wouldn't work in Mexico, because they would steal it. By the way, they are going to open a Mexican restaurant called "Rosa Mexicano" or "Mexican Pink" in English at the Miracle Mile Shops. The color became known as such through the efforts of the journalist, painter, cartoonist and Mexican fashion designer Ramón Valdiosera.
Re: Cost & planning. Air canada has cut many of the optimal flight times and reduced direct flights, as have other airlines. The prices are insane, and who wants their flight home from Vegas at the crack of dawn?? I had to pull out my wizard skills to make things all work together for my upcoming May trip, and still booked 4 months in advance. SMH
35k loss over 7 years makes this guy a high roller? I must be a WHALE!
Wasn’t that the same robot that ended up in a fountain in NY?😂
Adult themed slots is one thing…Mario Kart?? Totally unnecessary and can only lead to influencing youngsters to ‘play’ at the casino
"Same time Same place Doing same damn thing: 🤣🤣🤣
I picked some random dates, Feb 17 – Feb 24, and it's almost cheaper to fly from Harry Reid to Paris Charles de Gaulle, and stay at a 4-star hotel (Mercure Paris Montmartre Sacré Coeur) with a view of the Eiffel Tower, and 10 minutes walk from the Casino de Paris, than it is to stay at the Paris Resort in Las Vegas for the same dates. Flights start at $827, and the room costs $1204; while the cheapest room at Paris Las Vegas costs $2018, and the view isn't specified. Amazingly, the Paris in Las Vegas is almost completely sold out for those dates; the French helped America win her independence … can't Americans show them some love?
Javiers in aria didn’t make the list?🤔
I'm a low roller, but I like to play slots all day. I make six trips to Atlantis in Reno every year and have come out even each of the last two years. All 24 hotel nights have been comped along with most of my food. My twelve Reno vacations have been essentially free (excluding my transportation costs to and from Reno). This is why Atlantis is my favorite casino ever.
I track my Vegas money like this: I take $1500 dollars to Vegas I leave $1500 in Vegas 😂😂😂😂😂
I am with Mark, I'd be afraid! I hope you found some decent airfare.
Senior Frogs is garbage!!
I was looking at the Wynn 4/11-4/14. 500 a night!
Those security robots are surprisingly smart. They read every license plate, can detect gunshots and the proximity of those gunshots, at any time a live operator can take control. I was really surprised, but of course they have limits.
robot? its been done…
35K over 7 years.. sounds like criss angels aggregate income.
Señor frogs hands down.
So much pot smelling up everything. Boo.
There is one skill-based game in Vegas, it even has its own room in many casinos. I'm talking about poker of course, which ironically will finally die when they figure out a way to replace the dealer with a machine.
Tacos El Gordo should be #1 at the strip – authentic. As for the robot, there has been one at Pachanga, CA and it's a silly robot. It will talk to you if you are near and the funny thing is that it has to recharge for a long time to run again.
Fontainebleau or Fountainebleau, I don't care how people pronounce it. I think some people online gets trigger way too easily these days. Lol! I did notice the price uptick recently, I'm heading back to town for the NAB Conference in April and it looks to be a bit pricer than last year's. But my company is footing the bills, so it doesn't matter to me. Ha ha!
I was in Vegas 22 times, 3/2021-12/2022. So monthly. 14 stays at Cosmo, not a high limit player, but I got limos, free suites, comped meals, etc.
People should remember Cosmo was known to be most generous Players program on Strip… that will change big time with MGM.
As a percentage, understanding theoretical loss (theo) My numbers acceptable, not as good as RickGolf's. MGM percentages way worse, as was Cosmo starting mid-2022.
Coin in / out isn't actually a barometer of anyting. That's not how much money you actually won or lost. That's how much money you played with. Which is completely different.
If you sat down and put $100 into a slot machine, and you played for an hour, going up and down, winning and losing, until that $100 is Dawn, you only lost $100. But your coin in / out could be upwards of $1000.
For example. I went to Vegas 4 times this year. My coin in / out @ MGM properties was $31,000/$26,000. So they say I lost $5000. But I never even brought that much. My cash that I take per trip is usually about $3000. One trip I came home with nothing, one trip I came home with about half, one trip I came home up $3,000, and one trip I broke even.
So realistically ran about $12,000 through slot machines through the year. & came home with about $10,500 of it.
Not even close to a high roller. But the win/loss statement tells a much different story than reality.
But, like the Twitter poster, I received much much more than that in free rooms, slot credits, food and beverage comps and more. Being MGM gold & getting upgraded rooms, many of them suits definitely paid off in my favor over the year.
Senior frog's is the worst Mexican food I've ever had taco bell is better. We have gold with MGM but we don't even try for it charge everything to the room and it usually works out we don't gamble that much either. As far as airline/hotel prices I think it all depends when you are coming we try to visit when there isn't much going on in town.
I've noticed rates have definitely been raised in December and January previously the cheapest months I've noticed. I got a fountain view wraparound suite at Cosmo for about.. 325 after fees I think it was. Weekday rate in November about five years ago. Then about the same rate in December. I looked for the same room this last December, it was almost 600 before fees on a Monday or Tuesday… For flights, I fly Frontier with one personal item bag (backpack, free) from socal. 38-50 dollars round-trip. I've done that countless times in the last two years……can't wait to hear what you guys think of f1 numbers just announced. Thousands of jobs and double economic impact of the super bowl. 1.3 billion into the economy!
$5k per year to be a high roller with suites, limos, and being treated like a VIP? If you have the money it seems like a great deal to me. If he stuck to video poker and other "advantage play" games and learned optimal strategy, he probably would have broken even or even won some money. It can be done, believe me. Sayulita's across from Mandalay Bay next to McDonald's is pretty damn good. I recommend the bacon wrapped burrito options. Especially after a concert at House of Blues and a night of heavy drinking. Please walk or take an Uber/taxi, though as safety is priority number one.
Unless Vegas prices everyone out of the market completely I think it'll keep going strong. The week after the New Year seemed to be the slowest in months, but it's steadily rebounding. Again, though, prices are getting out of hand, and it's the number one complaint I hear from people with poor service a close second. Those two things together spell trouble for any tourism economy. These corporations have a very short memory when it comes to economic downturns. They always seem to treat it as though it's some big surprise when in truth, they helped instigate the problem.
Great show guys, thanks.
A red eye to the East from LAS on Saturday night with a return to LAS on the earliest flight on Tuesday will get you a decent deal on certain airlines. Otherwise this it is $500 each way. Its cheaper to live in VEgas than Los Angeles ONLY if you don't need to fly….
I identify completely with something Shawn said: "I enjoy more the spectacle of Las Vegas than actually the machines." People who know me wonder why I moved here, given that I'm not a big gambler or nightlife-goer. I enjoy the sights and sounds and energy. Seeing the bright lights and crazy architecture of the Strip, and the color of Fremont Street, makes me smile.
I have seen air fare go from $600 round trip for 2 to $900. I did manage to get good deals for the end of March 2 nights comped at Mandalay Bay 4 nights comped at Paris and we also booked Flamingo for Friday and Saturday to save a bit on the total room cost for a 9 night trip.
what is that on the wall at 4:07, a rocket engine? looks like something Elon Musk left behind
Not really leaving Cincinnati February 12 coming back Thursday staying at the Golden Nugget $210 round-trip allegiant air $208 total to stay at the Golden Nugget enjoy your videos
Trying to book a decent flight to Vegas from Connecticut is next to impossible. You have to weigh driving to NY and paying for parking plus flight, or just getting the flight. There was a time when you could go from Hartford to LAS on Southwest direct for under $300, but those days are loooong gone.
We have been searching flights too. Crazy amounts . It’s about $200 extra what we use to pay.
We've probably been to Vegas, 35, 40 times with 23 Super Bowls in a row, but this trip out for the Super Bowl will be it for a long time. We can handle the cost, but we no longer want to preferring to do something else as the cost has significantly gone up. We will miss it.
For us it is the easiest way to get away and have a mini vacation. Easy drive, best hotel rates, good good, fun, fun, fun.
Flights are nuts, I booked a non stop flight to Vegas on Southwest for June. I live in Baltimore and the price was $596. The common man getting priced out.
2021 we payed tax on 20k above our loss. 2022 lost 15k. So far this year 2023 put in 3k won 7300. For us everything is comped we budget 30k for gambling at MGM properties. Our coin in averages 187000 to 318000 per year based on luck. We feel its worth it for all our comps. We go to Vegas 3 times a year and Gulf Coast 3 times a year.
Shawn I’m glad you listened to my advice and kicked your Micky Mouse phone into touch , I can take you much more seriously now 😊 🏴
Did a security robot arrest Chris Angel? Is that why he got no mention on today’s show?
Owe have a new carrier out of Richmond. $198 RT non stop. The are a low cost airline like frontier. It’s called Breeze. We fly out at the end of April. We upgraded to first class still only $500 RT. I’ll let you know how it goes.
Chapalas Mexican restaurant for sure. Good stuff.
I used to fly to Vegas 3 to 4 times a year. Last year i went once, this year i'm not going at all. Prices are too insane for flights and hotels. I will spend my money else where in America.
Mostly a poker player, I never get much. @wynn Venetian or Bellagio I get around a $1 an hour in food comp, and get a poker rate around 130 weeknights 190 weekends + taxes and fees. Post Covid the poker rate has gone up a bit. The requirement is 6 hours cash play a day and you can get credit for 6 hours if you play a poker tournament of at least 200 or 300. If you have more than 1 poker player in the room, all players hours can be combined. Not bad for my guys trips with the boys. Also, when I come out for the WSOP amd going to play one of the events… $1000 -2000 tournaments I get about half off the room.
