Yeah people ain't what they used to be. Alot of business mgrs have a chip on their shoulders that the cops will back them up before the customer. Just overall bad attitudes, I usually call the workers out if they don't want to work stay home.

They are hoping people won’t know the difference. this is becoming the norm with a lot of big hotels all over.
It’s corporate shame

Well thats interesting they just shutdown Fremont Street Experience New years party, channel 8 says whoever bought $25 ticket will get a refund and only existing hotel guests will be allowed. Wow, a little sanity in the middle of a pandemic!!!

I agree with you. That’s slimy business practices. I stay at MGM properties. I used to stay at Harrahs but they took so long to refurbish the rooms were terrible. Then they did a big reno a couple of years ago. Not big on customer service.

OK, I'm done with the Rio.

They were great several years ago, but this dishonesty must not be tolerated regardless of whether the customer is a high-roller or low-roller or no-roller.

OMG, $9 and $19 a night for a Vegas hotel room? Then $70 would be high for a suite.

Harrah's in Laughlin charged a courtesy fee to my credit card for incidentals which was reimbursed but was not told about the charge up front. The was the last time in a Harrahs property. This was 10-12 years ago.

10 bad days there , Gambled all night at the WSOP & couldn’t sleep during the day in that room at the rio because it faced the pool that blasted music all day & all I heard was bass 🤬🤬🤬.

No way will I stay there with that type of management. Treating one guess negatively affects hundreds of others guest opinion and we will not change our minds!!!

The Rio has a bad rep for mistreating customers by informing them of changes to their reservations at check in, not before when a customer would have a chance to make a change. Some of their casino personnel are substandard as well with rough behavior.

The Rio has been a dump for years. They should have paid you to stay there. They never had service, so why would you expect it.

Creation Entertainment has their conventions there. I stayed there before the pandemic. They no longer are having the convention there this year. Clean but not great.

Giving some honest feedback. We came to your channel when we saw some of your amazing hotel walkthroughs and interesting locations (like Primm and others). Your soothing voice and great visuals were great to watch. We've started watching the podcast and have been turned off. It seems that you and Mark have some pretty "high standards" when it comes to rooms in casinos. Mark seems to look down on anything that isn't top of the top. Listening to those things has been a bit grating.

You mentioned why would anyone stay at the Rio? Cheaper limits and staying off strip. The strip is really just a tourist trap where all the prices are higher and the payouts are lower limits. Especially that mid strip area, Ballys/Flamingo area gets so busy/congested that I do my best to stay away. The Rio may be "dated" but I don't care what the room looks like. Is it clean? I'm good. I don't need art and other "frills" that are used the raise the price of the room. Just as if I'm at a craps table, I don't care if they have fancy carpet chandelier, fancy drinks and whatnot. Jerry's Nugget gives me all I need at the prices I want. I have no interest in playing $25 craps at the Bellagio and paying for ambiance when I can play at Luxor for $10 and it's the same game.

I know that you channel caters to a wide group of people, so take my review with at grain of salt. I do enjoy your content and will continue watching for now. Thanks for listening.

I, and many other longtime Vegas folks, am genuinely surprised that this place reopened at all. There has been no upkeep, no money invested in it, the casino is always empty, the location is inconvenient, we all thought that the shutdown would be the perfect excuse to close it up permanently. Looks like perhaps they should have.

Vegas as a whole will rebound. However not all employees will be called back, because managements have found ways to do more with less people on staff. Multitasking has arrived at the casinos. My son works on the strip, one of the few who hasn't been laid off at his casino. He is given various tasks every day to perform in addition to his main job. As the number of visitors increases so will the number of employees being called back. But they will find their job descriptions include more tasks than before. Casino HR departments have been busy 'culling the herd', and dead wood have been let go. Low education level "back of the house' departments will feel it the most, from housekeeping to gardening, to porters. Many more tasks have been computerized to some degree resulting in 'part-time' status for many. Vegas isn't going to be what it once was.

We have stayed at the Rio a few times over the years with the service getting worse and worse on every visit. We had the same experience with the front desk; there was no interest in helping us. We enjoyed our visits years ago. It's amazing to see what bad service, with bad management can do to a hotel. I don't expect that we will ever go back.

I stayed at a hotel and they were putting all the guests in older rooms because they had individual AC units instead of central air. I wonder if that is the reason? Did the room you get have an individual AC unit?

Rio = Dump. I stayed there in 1997 and again in 2005 when the Masquerade Tower was still relatively new. It was OK back then. Then I came back in 2016 for a Star Trek convention, and damn if the rooms didn't still have the dirt and grime from 2005. The room smelled, the sinks backed up, the laminate on the furniture was peeling, and the beds were lumpy. Oh, and the AC wasn't working…in August! But the staff was rude and the casino was lame, so that made up for it. 🙄 I'd be happy to see this property razed.

This video popped up in my suggested videos and I am glad I watched it. I was going to book Rio (Masquerade suite) for a weeknight stay in March, but now I will probably try Paris or Caesars. I love the Flamingo (I may be in the minority there), Harrah's treated me well and I am staying at Bally's this weekend. Having been a lodging front desk supervisor, I would have lost my job had I refused to talk to a guest who wasn't happy and we typically upgraded them or offered a substantial credit. Thanks for the video! You gained a new fan tonight.

I checked into the Rio for my first time the night that Vegas shut down in march 2020. When I left St. Louis, Vegas was open, when I landed Vegas had started shutting done. All machines and gaming were shut down. no gambling at all. Only thing open was one place to eat and a handfull of bars. Needless to say only thing I could do was sit at the bar and visit with others in my place. had to be out by 11 am on thurs and I checked in on tues. Wed morning was one place to eat open till noon. Wed nite I had to order pizza delivered to Rio. They did upgrade my room to a nice one with windows floor to ceiling and whole wall. Never saw a person on the elevator or on my whole floor. Was like a ghost town. All dark and so everyone spent their time taking pictures or video. Was weird. Was told the morning I checked out that less than 200 guests had stayed that last nite. My room was comped but still had resort fees. I had to call management to finally get them to take off resort fees. After seeing this video I have decided to not stay there again. I will be in Vegas in march and am staying at Harrahs and the Orleans all comped. Good video. ty for posting.

Went there for the kiss mini golf a couple weeks ago and it was a ghost town middle of the day on a weekend and there were only 20 to 50 people in the entire property and it looked really run down wish they'd bring back the carnival show

9:48 also dont let this particular view fool you, their casino is TRASH and this tiny small section of slots is the only decent looking section of the gaming area

The service here is terrible. We are staying here now and we can't get anyone to clean the room. Yesterday and today when we left the room they were cleaning the room across from us and I mentioned we were leaving and they still didn't clean it. Buffet is closed permanently. Very noisy Saturday and Sunday night and morning even at 3am.
DON'T STAY HERE!!!
