If my wife has a plat card on my Amex Plat account, do we get streaming and phone perk on both cards? Thanks.

I know this is kind off topic but I would like some help. I have a secure credit card which I deposited enough to cover for an item I’ve been wanting for a while now. I can pay this in full but I want to boost my credit. I would say this item is about 90% of the limit on my card. I know I’d pay the balance off before the pay period ends. My question is, would it be better to use my secure card( to build credit) or to just by the item with my own money rather than use my credit card? I’m fairly new to this so thanks in advance!

Hilton Aspire – Anyone know if the $250 Hilton resort credit that was not used from the previous card year rolled over? Asking since my card renewal is this month.

Thanks so much for this one Sebb! The Bonvoy Brilliant $300 restaurant credit is going to be handy and I hadn't heard about it yet.

For the Platinum mobile service credit, beware of Verizon: if you’re getting a $10 AutoPay discount, you’ll lose it if you pay any of it with a credit card. Unfortunately, that means the net benefit for Verizon customers could be only $80.

Can you get credit if you have 2 streaming subscriptions like HBO & Netflix? ($15 + $8)

So I've been wanting a Platinum Card for a while now. I've been hoping for a 100k sign up offer, but I highly doubt I'll get it (I have had a BCE for years now, and to my understanding, if you already have an Amex card, it's unlikely the 100k offer will be made). I frequently find 75k offers though, and I believe there is a 6 month time frame to meet the minimum 5k spend. Adding this up to $320 credit to the up to $500 that already exists normally is a pretty sweet deal. This might be the best time to go for the card, even without the 100k offer. Thoughts? I do have a CSR though, so I know wielding both can be a challenge to make the best of it.

Why haven't I've heard anything official from AMEX. I want to setup HBO Max.

I keep telling them not to upgrade me as I want my lower level card with no points. No fees either.
When you have five kids that 3% at the grocery store all year long and 2% on gas plus 1% on anything else is worth a lot more than any points.
I don't do trips and other things that the points cover because I have five kids! Plus the points store on the Amex store is a pure rip off.
Everything on the store is already way over priced. Stop trying to be flashy and get a card that works for your life style.
Anything else I'd use a card on I already have another card for. Cards for Walmart and Target get you 5% at their stores.
I've yet to find one reason to use a "high level" Amex card. Took a pandemic for those cards to be useful for a limited time.

Platinum Card Holder here, are these benefits automatic? Because I don't see an option to apply this on my card anywhere, anyone else having this issue?

To apply multiple wireless credits each month to Google Fi, go to pay.google.com, and add your Amex cards using "Payment methods" -> "Add payment" (down at the bottom).
Then, go to "Subscriptions & services" -> "Google Fi" ("Manage" button) -> "Pay early". Put $20 payment in for each card that you want to apply, remembering to change your payment method using the drop down.
The balance will go to your default payment method for this subscription (which hopefully offers a better RoS than 1x, such as the 5x from the Chase Ink Cash).

Set yourself a calendar reminder for a couple of days before your bill is normally auto-paid, for the remainder of 2020.

Disappointing for AMEX Platinum. Verizon charges $10 extra per line if you do not do AutoPay from a Bank Account. This would not work for me, so $160 of no value ;-( Any ideas on how to get around this ?

Does paying your current balance in full instead of the statement balance hurt your credit?
Does this hurt my utilization ratio since its at zero when it gets reported to the credit bureaus?
I use my cards everyday but i pay off the current balance by the due date.
Which is best to do so it can look good to the bureaus and help my credit score?
Thanks for the help

Here’s a question. Can you claim the $200 Incidental credit and the $320 along with the rest of the benefits such as the $200 Uber credits? Or is it instead of because the majority of people are not able to travel?

Sebby, with all the miles buying coming with incentives, will this trigger the airline credit, particularly with American Airlines?

Reply

This is a data point of 1 but I bought a TV show season on Google Play and Amex gave me the $20.00 streaming credit on my Platinum. Now if Google would only code Google Fi as a phone provider and not a business service I would be set.

Hi Sebby, so just to make sure I understand the AE Hilton Aspire card- let's say I spend 300 on groceries (bonus 12×300= 3600) + 200 on HIlton property (bonus 10x 200= 2000) + 200 on other unrelated stuff (bonus 3x 200= 600). So total bonus is 3600 +2000 +600= 6200 towards lifetime Diamond status? Is that correct? Or some of the stuff I mentioned does not apply?
