The American Express Gold card is getting a new uber credit in 2021. This will be in addition to the Amex Gold dining credit and looks to be replacing the Amex Gold airline credit. Then American Express is also adding a complementary Uber Eats Pass membership to the Amex Green, Amex Platinum, and Amex Gold card. But are these Amex benefits good additions?

There's also a lot of competitive AmEx Offers on their cards right now. While Amex doesn't promote them, they are there to be taken advantage of. I think people are sleeping on AmEx during this pandemic battle with Chase.
I think the secret here is to use the $10 Uber credit to pick up food. That's what I do with my platinum credits and the price is pretty much the same. I think this is a great improvement to the Gold Card for sure!
I was just reading about this today and saw your video 👍👍 now I know is more legit the credit . Now I think uber also delivers groceries. If that is the case umm then it could replace Instacart 👍 use the uber credit for delivery groceries 4x in gold groceries or food either way so save on delivery fees with uber then . What’s your thoughts on this.
After Chase gave 5% cash on groceries and 3% on dining for a no annual fee card, I'm hard pressed to keep the gold card, especially for services I'll never use. The ease with which to use cash makes up any difference in opportunity cost in time using points. Too bad since Amex has great customer service and better cardholder deals.
Can I get an extra year for having another charge card next year?
Whats your opinion on the amex gold business card?
Your real name is C F Frost?
I sensed no negativity in this video. Get some rest man. Don't let it bother you. I'm not too excited about this credit but even if I didn't use ANY credits, I would still come out on top (maybe not as much) with MR points. Take care man and keep the family safe!
I hate this Uber credit ! Why couldn’t the just up the dinning credit.
Airline was better
Too little too late. They should have done this when added platinum credits
The difficulty to use the credits is why they can be as valuable as they are. If anyone could use them easily they would have to cut their value significantly. Basic economics.
Thank god its a Uber cash credit. Otherwise my Plat and Gold card credits wouldnt stack.
In some ways, this beats the original Uber card. In other ways, this is an excuse to get boba every week.
Already have my card enrolled for amex plat… can I use both together effectively giving me 25$ ?
i travel more than i eat out. so now i feel this credit is forced. i usually always eat at home and take my lunch to work 🥴
I like it for the most part. I get a $5 discount on mid-size pizza orders (Usually $25), and another $10 credit for it starting in 2021. Nearly perfect for playoff football!
Exactly how I feel. You find yourself spending more just to use the credit.
What online grocery stores work to get the free delivery? Anyone have experience with it?
I got a feeling that grubhub credit will go away. Amex is spreading uber to all charge cards. If this happens we might even see this change to the rest of the other cards with airline credits. The question is what will replace the grubhub credits.
This is a nice change from the airline credit. Because I have the schwab uner credit, thats a total of $25 per month + 5% off a single uber eats offer, + 4x on uber eats spending with the gold card groceries and dining spend… an extra $10 a month off grubhub…
Can you go thru Rakuten to use Uber eats like Grubhub?
Where do you enroll for the Uber Eats Pass? Don’t see anything in my AMEX benefits section. Thanks
IMO, Amex MR program is targeting either millennial users who organically fit this lifestyle, people who want AMEX for the flex factor and don’t really care about optimization or super users who get so much value from MR points in their redemptions that the fees are inconsequential. For everyone else, Amex MR cards are good for the bonus and potential retention offer. Although Chase is a glorified cash back option at this point, it offers the flexibility and simplicity that benefits most users and is the program I recommend.
Can you make a video about any Amex Everyday or Amex EDP refresh ideas? Those cards really need a refresh, and I think the transaction requirement is outdated…
Thank you for being one of the only ones who points out that if you're spending just to get the credit, you're losing in the end. A lot of people just hype up the benefit without explaining that you're really not "saving" if you spend extra to get it.
