A new leaked document from Amex shows an order for two new metal cards in titanium and black. My predictions for the new Amex cards. Also, an overview of travel change and cancellation policies for the upcoming months. If you are financially impacted by world events, call your financial institution and explain your situation. I've moved to CSR as my main card over gold because of 1. Ease of using credits 2. Hyatt transfers 3. Easy to use travel portal.

I hope Amex makes some changes because I'd much rather use their card but can't justify it given these points.

I welcome these new cards because I think these cards will keep the af of the platinum card at 550

Question: If you log into your bank account and find a bunch of cards you're prequalified for, what are the odds of being approved if you actually apply for them? Thanks!

Hey Seb….you mentioned Hilton and IHG but below is an email I got from Hyatt…

Dear A***

In response to the dynamic coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, I'd like to follow up on my previous note and share some additional actions Hyatt is taking to allow for even more flexibility regarding your upcoming travel.

Waiving change & cancellation fees

Guided by our purpose of care, we are temporarily adjusting our policies to allow for maximum flexibility to help you make the right decisions regarding travel at this time:

Existing reservations for upcoming travel between March 14 and April 30, 2020:

All existing reservations made before March 13, 2020 that are for arrivals between March 14 and April 30, 2020 can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. This includes Advance Purchase Rate reservations.

New reservations for any future travel:

Any reservation you make between March 13, 2020 and April 30, 2020 – for any future arrival date – can be changed or cancelled at no charge up to 24 hours before your scheduled arrival. This includes Advance Purchase Rate reservations.

Existing Advance Purchase Rate non-refundable reservations for travel through June 2020:

As announced earlier, special exceptions are in place for all Advance Purchase Rate non-refundable reservations made directly with Hyatt on or before March 8, 2020 for arrivals before June 30, 2020. Guests holding these fully prepaid reservations who have decided not to travel may still opt, at least 24 hours before their stay, to receive 10,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points compensation in lieu of both their stay and the offer above (if eligible). World of Hyatt points may be used toward future travel at any of our 900+ hotels across 17 brands globally.

I disagree with your prediction. The naming of the cards suggests to me the titanium card will be a normal credit card, probably with some platinum-like benefits, while the Black Metal 2020 will be the only card directly between the platinum and centurion.

I can't imagine Amex cutting Platinum members from the lounges. BTW, the Centurion Lounge at LAX opened on March 9th! I visited on March 13th – they said they had been open for 4 days. At last! Centurion's finally at my home airport!

One of those "placeholders" is for the previous version of the Centurion Card. Amex has been replacing the revised version with the previous version as the material of the revised version is not holding up. They are working on new material for the revised version of the card.

I'm thinking the titanium won't be a charge card based on the screen grab. So maybe along the lines of a platinum with a credit limit with the same type of benefits?

With all do respect, I believe the original rumor is completely fake. Take a very close look at the document that is being displayed. Under Titanium they have Magstripe and Contact Chip completely spelled out, the others are abbreviated. Plus, why is it missing Duel interface when all the other cards are that way??? Looking at the black bold across the page looks as if someone was not able to remove it when they were cutting and pasting.

Ugh, the centurion card is already the 'black card'. Funny though, you said it too, their making money on the branding….

❗️Hey Seb! Check out this post by DoC (link below). I'm now thinking this rumored 'Amex Optio / Titanium Card' may actually be an up & coming Amex program whereby Centurion Cardholders can choose a new design (or material) for their card. We'll have to see what happens! 😁 LINK: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/rumor-american-express-to-offer-centurion-cardmembers-multiple-designs-to-choose-from/

They will either have to section off Black, Titanium and Centurion Card members in a special area within the Centurion Lounge OR Create a new exclusive High Tier Lounge just for those members. Platinum would only have access to the standard Centurion Lounge
