YEEEEEEESSSSSSSS! Now if we can just get a credit 👀#GOLD
US bank is very conservative i got decline with a 760 trans Union 750 Equifax 740 Experian, only reason i opened a double cash like a couple months ago, need to wait 6 months to try again.
Good bonus for the gold and platinum if you dine out a lot and wanted the card
I’ve had the us bank go for almost a month now and I’m so happy with it , it’s weird tho , I have a 701 tu and a 696 eq and have three new card this year and was still approved.. not gonna lie I was seriously expecting to be denied. Since getting this I’ve yet to use my other cards ..
This isn’t the Hyatt video you mentioned in a recent video is it?
I'm hoping the Hyatt change is on Hyatt and not Chase because I have $49 IHG grandfathered card and hope it stays!
When it comes to which offer you take on the Gold or Platinum cards, it comes down to point valuation like you were saying. It looks like a break even for the Gold offer is ~1.67CPP and 2CPP for the Platinum. If you value MR over these valuations for the respective card, take the points offer. If not, go for this new offer
Waller I would also like to point out that, with World of Hyatt CC you also get "Brand Explorer" perk, which is Stay with 5 Hyatt brands i.e (Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Place, Hyatt House, Park Hyatt, etc.) and earn a Free Night Certificate of Category 1-4, and keep earing a Free Night for every 5 new brands explored, and there's no expiration date. So, if you use and plan it correctly, you're getting 2 Free Nights 😜😎.
Darn it. I missed out on $50.
I opened my amex platinum card last demember (Dec 2019), do i qualify for the 20% statement credit and when does it start?
I like that you value MR points conservatively at 1.5cpp
Awesome seeing Amex coming out with relevant offers during this time 💯 And yeah that Altitude Go Card is HOT on my wish list 😁🔥
Am I missing something? I feel like spending 1200 dollars on dining in ONE YEAR isn’t exactly uncommon or difficult to do. That’s only 100 bucks a month or am I forgetting something
Where can you find these increased Amex bonuses? I just got the Plat a few weeks ago with 75k MR points. Still never got the $100 Dell credit.
Thanks Waller, I am turning myself into Chase, not only will I have the old Hyatt CC as ransom, but I will offer my old IHG as insurance to get bonuses for both.
The AMEX bonus isn't exactly new on the Gold Card, but much better than when it was first introduced. I applied for the AMEX Gold way back in October of 2018 and it also had a limited time offer of 20% statement credit on dining purchases up to $100. I maxed that one out as well as meeting the 50,000 MR pt bonus after only $2000 worth of spend. Was a little easier back then xD
Amex should have increased the Platinum Card to 5x the points on dining instead on restaurants Worldwide for everybody!!
Applied the amex platinum card back in May, am I eligible for thr $1500 in dinning?
I’m afraid the old IHG® $49 card is next
Gold card still sucks ayyyyyyyyyeeee
My 5/24 ends October. Sounds like a plan to cancel the old Hyatt in October and apply for the new Hyatt card.
Not happy about the Hyatt card news. $75 for a free night was excellent value.
Decided to apply for the US Bank Cash+ today but I got the 7-10 day message. Probably denial cause I have to many accounts in the past 12 months. Also, the Cash+ has an increased welcome bonus to $200 after $500 spend. Thanks for the updates btw
Dustin is just churning the videos out this week!
Aaaaaaand Amex still refuses to give anything to existing cardholders. Btw, title should read "NEW SIGNUP BONUS On AMEX Gold & Amex Platinum." Got me all excited for nothing.
If I had the new Hyatt Card, I would spend 15K on it. Even if you used the 2nd certificate for $150, that's 3% return, or at $300, 4% return. Kind of like the good old days of SPG. .
Anyone else had issues with Amex not categorizing restaurants as restaurants?
I really think Citi is going to force transition Dividend cardholders to Double Cash, I keep getting the emails
The World of Hyatt card is still on my wish list and will probably apply for it when it's time. The American Express bonuses are ok, I would want the points, too. The Altitude Go is very intriguing to say the least but, I know there are some people that hate the Gold Card from American Express and think it sucks, I still get so much value from it even with not being able to use the $100 airline fee credit. Let's just hope American Express points don't devalue anytime soon. Great video Dustin, take care and stay safe!!
I think some intern saw my video of why the Amex Gold is TRASH and they finally DID something to get outta the gutter. Lol. Wishful thinking, but, these "perks" STILL are not as good as straight points as you put it. I agree.
You're absolutely correct about US Bank being more conservative they look at tradelines opened in the last 12 months as well as inquires when I got my Cash+ in 2018 I went crazy chasing bonuses and applied and got the dreaded message thinking I was declined after calling reconsideration I was approved for only a $500 limit(FICO TransUnion Score 8 was 787 when I applied in 2018) after using it and PIF for 6 months they automatically bumped me up to $5K then on my 2nd year after applying for the Altitude Go after gardening since 2018 I was instantly approved for a $10K limit(FICO TransUnion Score 8 was 796 when I applied) and when I checked my Cash+ US Bank had automatically bumped it up to $10K as well just wished I would have waited to sign up for it since I'm locked into the $200 signup bonus since I applied before August 9th
How long does it typically take before you get your certificate?
What happens to the Hyatt anniversary night and points after you cancel the old card and applying for the new card?
Great video! One question I have is that if you value Hyatt points at 2cpp, is it inappropriate to value UR points at 1.5cpp?
Clarification: I said the wrong card when it comes to United. It is the MileagePlus card, not the Explorer card.
A couple Michelin Star restaurants will achieve the $1500 spend for Amex Platinum.
I want the World of Hyatt card; but Chase denied me despite 800+ FICO, probably because of COVID. However, back when things return more to normal and I'm traveling a lot more, I was planning to use it to obtain Globalist status with a mix of business trips and spend. That's a use that really only applies to folks like me who (used to, and perhaps will in future) will do a lot more travel again.
Doctor of Credit gave you a nice compliment on the Hyatt card story! 😁 https://www.doctorofcredit.com/rumor-legacy-hyatt-cardholders-to-be-converted-to-world-of-hyatt-card/
Maybe I'll stop being broke
