Casino stocks down with record gambling revenue? Did someone put 2+2 together and start investigating the money-laundering activities at these mosty empty casinos?

I love steaks but I have no desire to go eat at Salt Bae's place. Sounds like it's just over priced meat and I'm not cheap when it comes to fancy foods. But I just don't want to go eat there. Lol!

The casino workers in Atlantic City are fighting to go smoke free and management is fighting it.

Last week stayed at Plaza Sunday – Friday. Pop Up Pizza was solid, Oscars happy hour very nice, Hash house seemed understaffed and only packed everyone into 1 side of the restaurant, never ate there. Rooms were not cleaned properly, removed the filters from the window A/C unit and they were caked with dirt, cleaned them in the bathtub. The bathroom floors were not clean, and several hairs were on the floor and in the tub. I brought gloves and disinfectant wipes and spent a good 20 minutes wiping down the entire room. My 5-night stay was under $400 with a discount I used, when asking about a Friday stay, I was told $250 for the night, ended up at Gold Coast for Friday night. Maybe I am getting old but was tired of homeless approaching me downtown, also inside the Golden Gate and El Cortez asking for handouts. Decided I will no longer stay downtown for my Vegas trips. I booked my next 3 stays with Caesars properties for 2022. MGM charges for parking on top of their resort fees. As a California resident I drive to Vegas and enjoy the freedom my car gives me while visiting. MGM drop the parking fees, I will never pay it. Nice job guys!!

I'll never forget back in the day the airport had a smoking room. It was always packed to capacity. You didn't even have to light up,just stand in there and inhale!

To answer one of things you asked each other: at the Tropicana when they had swim up blackjack, you could put your money in your swimsuit pocket. They had a money dryer that they would put your cash in, and it would dry the bills in about a minute.

Does he wax and disinfect his arm. I see the salt bounce of his arm doesn't seem sanitary. Don't want some of his arm hair on my 100 dollar steak. Lol

I think I'd like to see Mark take his hat off. I feel like I won't recognize him if I run into him. Most clips showing him in the wild seem to show him without a hat.

Pretty sure they put those construction sites up randomly in Vegas and do absolutely nothing. They've been working on LV Blvd since 2017.

The stock market prices earnings 6 months in the future. The stock market is adjusting for the recession that people are starting to figure out is coming. Gas prices are killing the economy.

As we are definitely going into a recession soon- I get the distinct impression that everything is priced to generate as much revenue as possible to cushion the future down times inevitably coming in the future!

Stay at the Plaza South. During Thursday thru Saturday, Fremont Street is so loud that you can't sleep if you are in the North Towers.

Once a smoker leaves, the stink stays for hours. Disgusting.

Former smoker here and I’m not bothered with a smokers’ section because ventilation systems today do a good job of clearing the air. But, women don’t like it in their hair or clothes.

It was not primitive. The smell of puke from the drinking crowd more than offset the cigarette scents. Life had a balance in those days that, sadly, did not account for selfies and entitlement.

So long as Asians make a bundle for the Vegas properties, those casinos will have smoking sections – and smoking rooms – as I found out at Bellagio this past February. MGM is trying with some of their higher end properties to have smoke-free sections and to control the air as much as possible in their properties by better ventilation (It's like a wind tunnel at Mandalay Bay!) and to give a good section of the properties areas which are tobacco free. I think this is a decent compromise overall, as gaming & tobacco use tend to go hand-in-hand for a lot of players.

(I may be biased though 😉 )

I think only 10-13 percent of Californians still smoke. Then they come to Nevada and have to smell some Nicotine addicted slobs burnt tobacco!

Glad to see more casinos going smokeless or having designated areas for smoking. Prices at the steak houses are soaring all over. If I ever get enough money, I'll buy the Gold Tomahawk and let you know how it was. LOL Right! Have a good one. Stay safe. Karen

I've been looking to book my first LV trip of the year, and airfares are close to double what they were last year. I picked an Augutst S-F stay at Flamingo where as Diamond rooms are comp all 5 nights. Should be far enough in advance to get restaurants I want to try.

Re Swim Up Blackjack- I tried it years ago at Caesars. Table mins were $15 at a time where Caesars general min was $15, but the rest of the Strip outside Bellagio and Venetian had $10 or &5. It was 6-5 even back then. It was fun but I had a horrible run of luck and couldn’t play long.

Re Gold Strike- This isn’t a huge surprise to me, since Tunica is not what it was circa 2006, when it was the fourth largest gambling market in the US. Since MGM has gone all luxury, they have dissolved all the non lux properties and non lux markets. GS is probably the nicest overall in Tunica, but Tunica isn’t a lux market anymore so no need to stay open. Focus all the resources into Beau Rivage.

Re Salt Bae- Watch Josh and Rachael’s channel (who I found through your podcast) for a good review. Apparently they charge for tap water refills! $6!!!

Coming to Vegas on the 26th and have four rooms booked to get various offers. Looking forward to it.

At my local Caesar's casino, the steak house is named Jack Binion's. It is good, but not as good as BLT steakhouse was. I too hope that the Sterling Brunch returns. And I personally don't give two s#@&* what casino BC endorses.

The Plaza has always been willing to try new things. It really is a remarkable place. It was the largest hotel/casino when built. It sits on some very historic property for Vegas; it's where the original land auction was held back at the founding of Vegas. It was the only casino to hold New Years fireworks in year one of the pandemic, they have partnered with a YouTuber, pickle ball termninants . Look at the shape of the building, look at Bellagio or Mirage or Treasure Island or Park MGM. And they are continuing to improve the place. I'm a big fan.

My girlfriend and I stood at the Plaza for the infamous $18 hot dog Lovers & Friends weekend. We got there at around 2-3am, and the staff was very nice. They didn’t think they had a king room available, but they ended up finding one that was. Our key didn’t work the first time, so we went back down to get another one, and while they fixed the problem they had their maintenance guy follow us up to open the room so we can set all of our stuff down. He was very cool and talked for a bit! We went back down and they had the key waiting for us and they gave us two free drink tickets. Plaza might not seem like an appealing visit if you’re looking for major luxury (especially their parking structure 😬🤣), but it’s great if you’re looking for something easy and affordable! And I don’t want to sound repetitive, but their staff really made the stay a great one!
