Amazon Business Prime Amex Card is better imo, $125 gift card when approved too. All same perks as this card.

I thought the 5% cash back was only in the form of statement credit but i did read it can be deposited into a checking account now i want this card

This card is pretty sweet. I would say that other cards like Discover and Chase Freedom are also pretty good on Amazon as they rotate 5% cash back on the site. Chase UR points are also awesome too.

Could you do a video on mixing points and cash back? I struggle when to go for cash back vs. when to go for Skymiles on my Amex.

Is the Amazon Prime card affected by 5/24?

Reply

Should’ve got the Amex business version to stay under 5/24 as much as possible

So this vs the Amazon Prime Store Card? If you're just using for AMZ purchases, any advantages? The Store Card doesn't count against 5/24 and still gets 5%? Maybe just that this cash can be redeemed a direct deposit? And perhaps the Visa Signature benefits.

AmEx has the same 5% back as a business card. true no fee, just Prime membership. However, you need to go through major hoops to actually get 5% back. It is supposed to be cash back, but it accumulates points. One of the most complicated card AmEx offers which leads me to believe Amazon had a big say in how it works.

Got it. Great card.

Is it actually cash back? I have the basic non-prime card and I was under the impression that you can just use them as credit for Amazon? Not that I much mind, I don't shop on Amazon much and so the few dollars I earn I just use when I happen to buy something on Amazon from time to time.

Discover cash back is 5% on amazon up to $1500 in spend, so I’ll sign up for amazon card after this quarter or after I spend the $1500 on amazon..

Thanks for the video! This is my first major credit card, and I watched some of your videos before I applied for this one. You were very helpful!

The 365 Amazon brand products are organic and mostly the same or just a couple of cents more expensive than Trader Joe's. Plus you get some good deals sometimes. I do my whole week's groceries at Whole foods and I spent $60 on average for all my meals of the week.

I mean you can get better bang for your buck by using chase ink cash and buying gift cards at staples giving you 5x and its Chase UR points.

Reply
breichow76 October 20, 2019 - 4:52 pm

I'm getting a bonus match on the 1% All Other category for having a Chase checking account as well. 5% Amazon, 2% Everything Else makes this a pretty solid general purpose card for cash back if you aren't playing travel card games.

Yuri G October 20, 2019 - 6:53 pm

Have this card, but never use it. I buy Amazon GCs in office supply stores using Chase Ink Cash, which is 5x UR.

Good points here Ben. If you shop enough on Amazon, this will reward you. Plus I don't mind getting some things at Whole Foods (not everything). Have to see how this spending would take away from other spending I do for say the AMEX ED or EDP (in order to qualify for the 20% or 50% monthly bonus). Unfortunately, I have another Chase card that I want before hitting 5/24 (I may be over anyway). After that I have a couple of AMEX cards I want to get. Then will have to do some gardening until I fall under 5/24 to try and get this card.

Roaryer October 20, 2019 - 8:13 pm

If you have a business, I think the chase ink (no annual fee) I'd a better option. You can buy Amazon gift cards at office max, which is 5% cash back in UR points. So a lot more value.
If you need an extended warranty or something I guess maybe? But overall it's a lot more value.

Ben…… I have only been following your credit videos for about a month and I compliment you for your excellence and authenticity. You are "blessed" with a genuine talent for communication. You are by far the best instructor in this field that I have found on You Tube. Your passion and humility easily translate to your audience and the comfort with which you deliver your message is amazing. Please do not ever stop challenging yourself for personal growth. I see you becoming a standard bearer for the next generation.

For you pissants out there, like me, there's a secure version. The starting credit limit kinda stinks though, and can not be increased. But, it can eventually graduate.

Amazon Prime Store Card Credit Builder is what it's called. That doesn't roll off the tongue very well.

amazon is garbage – it kills competition – when competition is gone – prices will go up – and they you will be sorry for supporting this evil company – whatever man – nobody listens anyway – bunch of lazy idiots.

I have no interest in Whole Foods so I have the AMEX Business Prime. Same 5%, better sign up bonus and doesn’t count against 5/24. To me that’s the no brainer.

I have the Synch Bank Amazon Prime Store Card cuz I was pre-approved for one. I now prefer this Amazon Prime Visa card. I know I'm asking for the moon here – but do u think it's possible that Chase would upgrade/approve me with the Amazon Visa card – given my 100% payment history with the Amazon Store card (tho it's issued from a different bank)?
