Morgan Stanley Card is not worth it for two reasons – 1) $25,000 in savings account and $5k/month deposit… high yield savings 3-4% or treasuries 4%+ alone could pay for above… 2) Benefit is taxable…
There are so many sneaky ways to milk a ton of value from credit cards, especially the Amex Platinum. The MS version is definitely a bit more valuable now depending on the consumer, but this is a great way to work around these new rules if you're eligible. Great video Ben! And thank you to all of you who've served!! 🙏
Not worth it, I can get a higher return on my $25k and ongoing $5k deposit, plus have the freedom of moving my money around. VX card is a better bet.
I have access to shareworks account through my employer but I just recently got the business platinum and personal platinum card two months ago. Does it make since to target this card now for atleast the SUB?
P.S. already hit the 250k SUB for the business and the 150k SUB for the personal
If you read the terms the $695 annual engagement bonus is only after the 2nd year. Also, the 25K balance required to wave the fees on the account doesn’t earn interest.
Military member here 🫡
Does anybody here know how to get this card with no annual fee as member of the Military?? I keep getting denied even though I have been in the armed forces for over 14 years
How about just go to Priority pass lounges. Problem solved.
hey Ben I just want to thank you! I've been listening to you since 2017. I joined the military, and tried using credit and no idea what I was doing. after watching your videos and 8 months, I built a 720 credit score. now im here 6 years later, and I've built what feels like a bullet proof credit system. I've brought my utilization a little high, but at one point I did have an 805 score. I've used your lessons to help people fix their scores, and help people get on the same path and its all because of you. so again thank you!
So if someone has a Shareworks account, they can get the Access Direct brokerage account, which then makes them eligible for the Platinum Cash Plus account… and then they can get the MS Amex Platinum and get the bonus that offsets the AF? Did I get that right?
Really wish the Etrade accounts would qualify for the MS Amex cards!
Do employee cards on business platinum card get lounge access?
I literally decided to get one this week. I didn’t do it last year because I want my Chase Sapphire Reserve to come up to expiration. We have a MS account already. So I will let you know how it goes getting it.
I got an idea, how about screw the lounge and you don't have to worry about any of those fees… 😆
Glad I got it back in the day
Wonder how much more valuable the Goldman Sachs Platinum card might be. That’d be an interesting rabbit hole.
Because of you, we have been able to travel and save so much! Thank you for teaching us!
Thank you Ben for making this video! 👍🏻 Should I jump through all these hoops for my 3 teenagers? I’m not sure yet. 🤷♀️ Seems like a wild goose chase. 😆
Man to be successful enough that you can give your 13 yr old his or her own plat.
I love your videos I have a question I have discover , capital one quick silver,Apple Card ,what should I get for my 4th card if I should get a 4th card and when should I get a Amazon card and what card
You don't need the cash plus account to get the platinum card. Access investing alone can get you the card. You just have to pay $695 AF if you don't have the cash plus account. Given the current interest rate of other high yield savings accounts, you're better off to just pay AF to get the card and a free authorized user.
Any fee to join MS? What are minimum to open account?
I'm sick of all this shit just to get into a damn lounge. Too many games. Screw them.
Hi there just letting you know Access Direct is also closed to new people. That’s also changed to E*Trade as well. Existing accounts are ok
PSA: the very best AmEx offers are only on the vanilla Platinum card, but it’s 95% the same and I do agree it’s the best version.
If I’m already in Amex’s ecosystem, will I be hard pulled applying for a Charles shwab plat?
It’s harder and harder these days to get the right and legit cc, fullz, plug —but Ricchdawg made time in his busy schedule to help me get paid with his fullz and cc digital infos. I’m using him as legit plug 🔌🔌⬆️
MS requires $5k minimum for first account openings.
Currently, for none share works/stock plan the best account to open with the cash+ platinum would be a AAA account that has a $175 annual fee with it.
I wonder if amex have thought of having its cards use at visa mc and union pay to make them truly global as opposed to the non acceptance sometimes and having to use another card.
I was able to open an Access Invest account before the deadline thanks to your last video. 😊 I plan on opening the cash plus account and applying for the Amex MS platinum next month.
People keep talking about HYSAs and opportunity costs, but the current high interest rates on savings accounts will eventually go back down and then this will turn into an incredible deal.
I’d rather just pay the 700$ and not jump hoops or overthink it tbh
What about Department of Defense employees? Do they get any kind of discount?
Sometimes we need someone to simply be there. Not to fix anything, or to do anything in particular but be appreciative. That’s why am thanking and referrin Ricchdawg to eryone seeing this now ☀️☀️☀️
Does not appear to be a good deal. Platinum CashPlus account requires $25000 balance which earns essentially no interest rate. (Need for putting 5k every month makes it even more complex.) HYSA accounts are easily paying 3.3% now, which is $25000*0.033 = $825, which is more than the $695 fee. Of course, that interest rate can fluctuate. If one is worried about that and thinking of holding an AmEx account for many years, just go ahead and buy a US-treasury bond which is currenty providing more than 3.5% at all time intervals from 3 months to 30 years. Just pay the AF with regular interest income backed by the government.
