The US Bank Altitude Reserve just added new 5x categories to this travel credit card. But do these new bonus multipliers add value to the Altitude Reserve credit card?

Notification. Click. Good night had by all.
I find it interesting how you're always swing your hands DeWalt I do like it how you test the waters of these credit card companies with the calling did retention offers and cancellations
Well, Chase opened the door with the unimpressive CSR update. Good work once again Dustin.
I am trying so hard to get under 5/24. You are making my choice difficult!
YASSSSS!!! D IS BACK WITH A NEW VID 🙂

Is Freezing Sagestream and ARS credit bureaus still a viable route to increasing approval odds with US Bank?
Great points

How’s the car rental comparison?
Thanks Waller, I really like your analysis of card features, appreciate you taking a step back to look at these carefully and comparing on actual value.
One other thing regarding this card I am trying to gage is the 5x on car rentals, given that this card has primary car rental insurance. I think ultimately long run I was planning to get the Chase Ink Preferred for Primary Car Rental and as my main Chase card for 3x UR points on travel… Currently my wife and I are both over 5/24 but we will have one player under 5/24 towards end of the year. Right now, I already have the City National Bank Crystal VISA, which although it got significantly devalued this year being stripped of some major benefits I still kept because it has only a $50 effective annual fee after credits, primary car rental, and an unlimited Priority Pass that includes restaurants… The CNB Crystal also earns 3x on broad travel and dining, so that includes car rentals… Understanding that Car Rentals are not really a major category for most people, it still feels like the CNB Crystal edges out the US Bank Altitude Reserve because of the lower annual fee and the unlimited priority pass…
Waller I agree with you. In a nut shell the 5X is “meh”. Now if the Chase Reserve bumped up its 3X categories to 4X….🥳😎
This is quiet interesting, especially with their two new cards coming out after 9 March….. maybe a trifecta that takes on chase since a lot of people think they crapped the bed with the CSR update.
Altitude reserve has been on my credit card watchlist but I’m growing more ehh on it each day
0/3,,, Ouch!
I think it may make more sense if you use the portal for resorts and small hotels where you don't have status. Otherwise the points I get from status outweight the extra 3%. Would also be pretty good for rental cars I think.
Increased multipliers mean nothing when points inflation comes with it…which is eventually going to be the case.
How easy is it to use the us bank travel credit?
Cash back cards. You can always combine cash. These travel portals really inflate their prices big time!!!
Ever wonder why these credit card companies keep adding the same type of categories over and over (like dining, entertainment, groceries, hotels)? I think it’s because with these categories you can’t really exercise benefits like purchase protections etc., In the end, banks are out to make money. They can devaluate points any time but not wish cash. Plus, you can invest the cash. Cash is king.
US Bank increasing annual fee in 3,2,1…
Great information and analysis!
Another great video, Dustin! Looking forward to the next!
I clicked through to Amazon in one of your links before buying a thing (a portable camping battery thing). Hope you get credit for it!
Citi Prestige or Altitude Reserve?
