Of the list of specific retailers, I only shop at three with any regularity. I already have 5% cash back cards on those three. The AF is not worth the extra 1%. I ain't a Rockefeller, y'know.

There's $6000 cap spending and a mandate purchase requirement to pay for annual fees… why anyone get this card except for 6% cashback ?

TBH this card can potentially kill the Amex cash preferred. If you get groceries at Target and Wal-Mart and sun Amazon

Is it true US bank doesn’t like it if you’ve applied for a credit card in the past 12 months and might not accept you?

I signed up for it, 250 bonus and no AF first year. Plus this is the only card that doesnt exclude walmart and costco from higher earnings that I've seen. Already have the USBank cash+ for 5% utilities all year and no AF on that one.

That annual fee, kinda bait and switch for normal consumers that hold balances.
I wouldn't burn a 5/24 for it

I always think of some blue camoflauge when I see this card, It's a bit distracting. But earning extra back at Walmart and Target could be a pertty big deal for some people.

I hadn't heard about this one yet. And I just ordered an Amex and chase card this week after watching your videos. I'll be getting the US Bank one now to round them out. I'm doing an expansion on cards, so good to go.

The fact that it has a $95 annual fee was the deal breaker for me; and on top of that annual fee this card also has a foreign transaction fee which is also a no no for me. My next card from U.S Bank is going to be the “Altitude Go VISA Signature Card” which has no annual free nor does it have an foreign transaction fee.

As for then 3% can that be applied to Costco/Sam’s club gas?

Response to your title: an annual fee card won't be the end to a NO annual fee card

Reply

So I could choose walmart every quarter for 6x? If so it's a no Brainer even with the af. My freedom usually has atleast one quarter I don't use enough. Sure it's free but that takes that $300 yearly down fast.

95 af if you spend more than 1900$ at your top two. But Target and Amazon already has 5% cards

Not very attractive compare with chase, Amex, Citi or even C1. Reason, NO TRANSFER PARTNERS. it’s great for team cashback though

People who shop at wholesale clubs are better off with the US Bank Cash+ for Utilities and Phone service and Venmo Visa for wholsale clubs cause on the Venmo Visa the Grocery category includes wholesale clubs, good job venmo !

Oooooh, shiny light in card. I apply now! Jokes aside, this is probably not a card I'll be adding to my wallet just yet with that $95 annual fee. If this card came with no annual fee it would be the store card killer in my opinion, but this kinda diminishes some of the value this card can get you right off the bat and unless you shop really often with these stores, it won't be super easy to get a lot of value. Especially compared to getting 5% on other store-specific cards. I'm also on team-travel so I'm not looking for cash back cards right now. This is all just my opinion though! Great video Ben!

I use contactless everywhere and I agree. I dont see people use it. I think many might not understand it or realize that basically all cards and terminals have it.

I think the "Shopper Cash Rewards" card is UGLY! While I admit that this card could be especially tempting in a few card setup, it is so ugly that I'm not sure I would want to carry it – much less pay $95 / year for the privilege to carry such an ugly card …

Hedges, thanks for sharing video game since eight years ago. But must break it down after this comment since tomrrow. So there's last thing. Well, much appreciate your channel 🙂

GTA6, Jason & Lucia. Jason looks like Ethan Mars' elder son Jason, even their appearance are similar. As if growning up then being new spotlight in GTA6(his voice actor is obviously). Lucia looks like Grace Mars via Jodie Holmes. The focus on former but couldn't deny latter. Only because there's funniest point by huge of huge interesting if you can get into more depth for understanding this. In fact, Jason was hugely inspired by Zhisheng Gao(高 智晟, Gao Zhisheng. When he became lawyer before). And Lucia was based on two women and they own very closing relationship with Gao:" Wife, Holly Geng(耿 格, Geng Ge). Daughter, Grace Geng(耿 和, Geng He)." If you don't believe it, please search their photos and compare anything what I expressed. Trust me, you'll get new bonus even more surprised than ever.

If Arthur Morgan's background is from the Chinese folk, even using Chinese transliteration on this basis to create RDR2. Then Jason's source is to directly extract one of the most representative & suitable from the ancient Chinese folk wisdom with adapt to now contemporary society. Why? Only because that's what it means for people like me to be alive all this time. Anyway, the mainstream of society and catering to feelings have already become a complete joke, and I can't find anything else worth living in today's human world other than Shen Yun performances.

PS: Break off to me, please!

US Bank Cash+ electronics category covers Best Buy and Apple @ 5% cash back with no annual fee already. Target and Amazon both have free 5% cards. Chase Freedom and Discover It will typically get you 5% back at Walmart for two different quarters each year covering 6 months. With that annual fee this card requires too much spending to break even with all those 5% options.

If USBank is trying to compete with store cards, then just not that there are no Store cards (at least not that I’m aware of) that charge an annual fee. So… this is a no go for me at least.

They can offer 6% cash back all they want. They can't transfer those points to TRANSFER PARTNERS. That's the one of the reasons why I left U.S. Bank to bank with Chase.

Yeah, the AF kills the value proposition for most users. Chances are the 3% category will be duplicated in any given quarter (with the possible exception of the "bills and utilities" category) by the categories on Chase Freedom/Freedom Flex, Discover It, or Bank of America Cash Rewards, none of which have an AF. 1.5% on all other purchases is irrelevant if you have a Citi Double Cash since you can use that for 2% back if no higher levels apply.

I suppose there might be some value here if you frequent the brands on the 6% list.

The US Bank Cash+ let's you choose Home Utilities as 1 of your 5% categories on up to $2,000 in quarterly spend with no annual fee

Larry Ivey October 28, 2022 - 5:19 am

I was looking at this card since I already have a Cash+ and Altitude Go but at the moment I'm gardening so I'll pass for now but you could get this card keep it the year and if you're not getting positive value from it you can downgrade it to a Cash+ or like in my case a 2nd Cash+

Reply
ThePerfectElement555 October 28, 2022 - 6:38 pm

Seems like a decent card for some people. Utilities as a bonus category is cool but personally, as someone on team travel, even without an annual fee I'd take 5x Chase UR points over 6% cash back any day.
